Road rage driver called me fat

Had been Christmas shopping yesterday, driving home and traffic lights turned amber as I was literally driving through them.

At the next set of lights some angry man got out his car shouting at me I went through a red light (I certainly didn't as I have the dash cam footage) He was so angry, and yet I hadn't affected him in any way shape or form.

I told him to get a life and he called me a fat bitch. Then got back in his car screaming insults as he went.

I am still shaken but his words have really upset me. I feel down today and embarrassed. I didn't even think I was fat, so why would he say that to me?

He said that to you because he is a dick and it was the first thing he thought of to insult a woman. It had nothing to do with your weight.

It would be the first insult he thought of. I think 'fat bitch' is the go to insult when men shout at women.

I would not give him another thought.

Because he’s an immature, misogynistic, angry little man?? And you’re a woman so that’s the default insult for women. 🙄
He didn’t have the brain capacity to even come up with an appropriate insult so defaulted to an insult that primary school children use to hurt each other even if it’s bollocks!!

I’d put it down to the simple fact that he’s a dickhead…

He said fat because he's been taught it's a particularly hurtful thing to fling at women. Honestly forget him - do you want your self worth determined by some random twat you'll never see again? He's a moron - forget about him, and get on with your life.

If someone called me fat and I knew I wasn’t fat then I wouldn’t give it another minute’s thought. Especially a random angry stranger.

I'm 8 stone wet through and I've been called a fat bitch on more than one occasion.

It seems to be the 'go to' insult but I'm sure you know that.

This is his default "insult to women." He would use it on the Duchess of Cambridge or Ariana Grande if he got angry with them.

It's what he says when he can't actually think of a valid criticism.

I did think thats the easiest insult to call a woman but it really embarrassed me. I told my DH when I got home and now I wish I hadn't, as now I'm embarrassed that he heard the insult too. Like he's always so proud to have me and tells me how beautiful I am, but now it's kinda been undermined by this knob head. Ahhhhh I'm so annoyed I'm giving it so much head space.

Same happened to me a few weeks ago. Bloke in front going from a 50mph to a 40mph. Don't know if everyone else does this but I generally take my foot off the accelerator and/or change down a gear when approaching speed changes or traffic lights if I know they're about to change. But no he just slammed his brakes on causing me to get up close. Then he starts gesticulating to me out of his window.

We pull up at traffic lights, I wind down my window and try and explain that taking your foot of the accelerator unbelievably it slows down the car down 🙄, no need to slam your brakes on but I'm met with a torrent of abuse including thick twat and fat cunt. Lovely.

Don't let him upset you, when you know are in the right its a great feeling and if all someone can do is shout, scream and throw insults it shows more what type of person they are 😁

A man at a bus stop called me a slag because I told him to stop shouting racist abuse at a bus driver. Needless to say it's not about you op. It's their problem.

It’s a standard fall back insult to some people. Angry man wanted to shout at someone and you happened to be handy, his poor behaviour reflects on him and not you.

Ha probably. 😅 I have met my fair share over the years. When I think I've been driving for 38yrs got literally 38yrs no claims (if such a thing existed) and one speeding ticket in all that time (due to accelerating to create a gap behind me to let someone pull out of a side street and thus going 2mph over the limit) I think I'm a pretty decent driver.

Thing is I guess I could do with losing some weight, I'm a size 14 and after having babies I'm definitely not as slim as I used to be. Now he's made me think everyone sees me this way.

What a horrible individual! I'm same as you OP, I take these things to heart too much sometimes and need to give my head a wobble at times. Last week, I had a twat refuse to give way in a 'merge in turn' section of the road, he completely cut me off and nearly made me drive up onto the pavement such was his speed to get past me and cut in...after I'd already let 1 car in, in front of me...

probably had small man syndrome. I just feel sorry for the partners/wives of these dickheads.
