Discussion with friends. Very heated disagreement. Unreasonable wearing knickers . Reasonable not wearing knickers

Deffo knickers. Otherwise you have to change your jamás every day

OrangeeS · 22/11/2025 22:34

I think you’ve taken a wrong turn lass and ended up on the “Knickers or No Knickers” discussion by accident!

Cantdothingsanymore · 22/11/2025 22:36

Knickers on. I hate the feeling of material flapping around my bits. I like security.

AbbeyGrange · 22/11/2025 22:38

Eugh no, I wear knickers underneath as it feels grim if I don't! As for this "airing" malarky your foof is under pajamas AND a duvet so would hardly get fresh air anyway...

Themagicfarawaytreeismyfav · 22/11/2025 22:39

Definitely knickers

Imveryold · 22/11/2025 22:39

Watched an old episode of The Waltons today (ill in bed) and was v amused when they kept discussing whether John Boy could wear his "knickers" (short for knickerbockers I suppose, they came to just below his knees) to his school graduation and to college or whether he needed proper long trousers.

MrsBlobby95 · 22/11/2025 22:40

I had no idea not wearing underwear in bed was a thing until someone at work mentioned it when I was in my mid twenties. I had always worn a bra and knickers to bed and changed pjs daily. Tried not wearing underwear after that and will never go back now. So much more comfortable. I guess you just do whatever your parents taught you to do

Muffinmam · 22/11/2025 22:12

I don’t wear them to bed - which is why I wash after every single use. Even if I have a nap I will put on fresh pj’s.

It’s necessary to air it out. It’s also necessary to wash it.

I was told never to wash my vagene because it’s self cleaning. The outside is not self cleaning - you’re meant to clean it!!

Many mumnsnetters will only was their arse cracks/flaps with water in the belief you can’t touch anything with soap down there or it’s instant thrush. Surely that’s like washing your pits with water only? You’d smell!

You will be shocked to know my very dirty friends don’t wear knickers and only change their pyjamas once a week!!!

I'm not fussy in a lot of ways but that is just rank! I can't believe someone would even admit to it!

I'm firmly in the knickers camp and I change my PJ bottoms every other day like I do my jeans etc.

FunMustard · 22/11/2025 22:42

Mostly I wear knickers but sometimes I don't. Until about 6 months ago, I was always so hot, I normally slept naked. I've lost weight now and I'm always cold! So pyjamas, plus socks. Almost always knickers as well, they don't ride up but my pjs do and I might want to wear them tomorrow.

Knickers absolutely. And a bra! A very soft comfortable one. Started when I was breast feeding and a bra helped tender boobs and helped with leak. Now I like to wear one to keep everything neat and secured when I move around in the night.

Can you recommend a sleep bra ? I had a great pregnancy one from M&S two decades ago. Cotton lined, not a nursing bra, just for pregnancy, it was so comfortable that I wore it to sleep in for years afterwards, I can’t find anything similar.

Bunionbabe · 22/11/2025 22:45

Am bemused at the number of people who feel the need to change their PJs every day. Clean knicks daily, jamas once a week. Bath or shower every day means clean bits surely.

Naked is best!

Because it's more hygienic?

How?

Edited

I think it's weird being in bed naked when you have kids that wander around, and potentially climb into bed.

Im single, have been for 8 years, my kids often get in with me, or come in in the middle of the night.. I dont need them being met by my boobs/butt rising from the covers if I've half thrown them off in the middle of the night.

Even in hot weather I wear minimum of a bralette and boxer shorts that keep everything well covered!

Mrsmch123 · 22/11/2025 22:49

No unless on period. Or in someone else's house🤷🏻‍♀️

Uptightmumma · 22/11/2025 22:49

No knickers unless it’s time of the month

Ahfiddlesticks · 22/11/2025 22:51

IcedPurple · 22/11/2025 22:25

And it's not as if your average pair of M&S 4 for £10 cotton knickers is going to form a hermetic seal around your arse!

Look, all I know is that Knickers (yes 100% cotton m&s ones) = regular thrush and no knickers = no thrush.

I am however prone to thrush.

I also don't wear pj bottoms.

steff13 · 22/11/2025 22:52

I wear neither pajamas nor underwear to bed, so it's a no from me, dawg.

ChattyGeePeaTea · 22/11/2025 22:52

YorkshirePuddingsGreatestFan · 22/11/2025 21:17

Knickers as I'm at the age where I need to wear a Tena liner at night.

However, just before I go to bed, I open the window and sit legs akimbo on the windowsill to give it a good airing out.

Absolutely howling at this.

Melancholyflower · 22/11/2025 22:52

How tight are some of your pyjamas that the seam is going up your arse crack /fanny? If I'm wearing something in bed I want it to be loose. After surgery for breast cancer, I had to wear a bra all of the time for a while, and I hated wearing one in bed.

HostaCentral · 22/11/2025 22:52

Don't ask me I just wear knickers. If it's very cold I add a vest. Can't be doing with clothes in bed.

Wednesdaysotherchild · 22/11/2025 22:52

Knickers always, whether under pjs or nightie. Pjs changed weekly. If not, it’s knickers & a vest top!

I’m 43 and never had thrush!
