Knickers under pyjamas yay or nay

Discussion with friends. Very heated disagreement. Unreasonable wearing knickers . Reasonable not wearing knickers

I always wear knickers, never had thrush or anything of the sort, think that's hormone related and to do with PH.

I sleep naked. In the softest fleece bedding. I’m like the princess and the pea, one tiny wrinkle in it and I can’t sleep. Knickers with additional pjs sounds nightmarish. Though I will also never go without a bra and knickers when I’m awake and in my own home. Socks too, I can’t be barefoot unless I’m in the shower.
I went away with my best friend for a weekend recently, staying in a hotel for 3 nights same room, we do this every now and then if there’s a gig we’re going to. First night I barely slept because I was wearing a nightie. Slept naked the next two nights and slept great! Nothing was on show at any point.

I used to sleep naked and just let everything relax and be chilled. Now i wear the pyjamas my gran bought me. There is no problem with what you wear as long as you are happy.

No knickers and a long nightie which gets washed every other night.

I’d feel so confined wearing knickers in bed. Even thinking about it makes me feel claustrophobic!

I was brought up no knickers, new PJs every other night, too.

I am wondering how many times all these knickers people get thrush. I am late 30s. Literally never had it. Air everyday 😂

I rarely wear pyjama bottoms, JUST knickers, and of course a clean pair each night.

On the very rare occasions when I think it's cold enough to justify pj bottoms, I still wear the knickers, too.

I’ve had thrush a handful of times ever and don’t air my fanny every night. It’s nonsense

If your underwear isn’t too small it won’t be rubbing

No knickers and no PJs just a vest top for me

I can understand going knickerless under an oversized t shirt or nightie but I couldn't wear a short top and no knickers or pj bottoms. I'd feel like Winnie the Pooh!

No knickers and I think people who wear knickers are a bit gross, sorry!

It's not nonsense. Just because it doesn't happen to you doesn't make it nonsense. And if someone gets thrush regularly then this is a small change they can make which might improve the situation for them.

I'm the opposite, I think people who don't are gross.

So all you naked sleepers who manage to air your areas even while under a duvets or sheets, even if you jump into bed straight after a shower, if you fart in bed you are basically blowing micro poo crumbs all over your bed and then rolling around in it all night...so...are you changing those sheets every night?

This is probably why a lot of mumsnetters never see the bottom of their laundry baskets. There must be a correlation.

No knickers, no PJs. Just warm duvet. Except during periods, have slept naked since my mid teens.

Just a thought. If you then have sex do you bother putting on the pjs/ knickers again afterwards?

I doubt many people ( except you maybe) would even think about the micro particles from a fart never mind worry enough about it to change sheets daily. That sounds a bit OCD

Quite! I can wear PJs for several days if I keep knickers on. I thought that was everyone. Otherwise I wear a nightie- e.g in the summer

I do wonder if it's linked to laundry products/overwashing. We're fragrance free in our house, for bodies and for clothes and never had any infections of that sort either.
People on mn seem to shower thrice daily and wash their clothes every 10 minutes, neither of which strikes me as healthy for sensitive areas, particularly when highly perfumed products are used, as seems to be the norm these days.

I never don't wear knickers, never had it either.

I never get thrush and I'm team knickers.

I often don’t when out with a long summer dress on a warm day. I just avoid doing cartwheels. -And not when on a period. Very much a summer sport though.
