To complain that my pizza wasn’t cut for me?

Spent £30 with Papa John’s. Love their pizzas. Special garlic sauce is amazing!

Anyway, they didn’t cut my pizza. AIBU to have complained through the Just Eat App?

Have been told by the cocky manager to consider buying a pizza cutter

Have them semi regularly as a treat and they’re always cut into slices, as most take away are!

H thinks I’m being silly.

Obviously this isn’t a world shattering issue, of course. But interested to see if I’m unreasonably unfair here to complain

OP posts:

I'd think any decent pizza place would cut their pizza. Like putting sauce or cheese it as standard.

Yes, but this is Papa Johns. It’s barely pizza.

OP deliberately chose a shit option. It would be like going to Greggs and complaining that the cakes didn’t have cream in them.

It’s a spurious complaint, but the kind of people who order from places like this are the kind of people who could pick a fight in an empty room, so I’m sure they’re used to it.

Nolongera · 22/11/2025 09:24

Thoughts and prayers OP, thoughts and prayers.

Just use your knife and fork like any adult would do to eat pizza.

Lol at everyone eating a shop made pizza in their own home giving someone else grief for being lazy. It is takeaway food. The idea is it is edible on the go. I don't think I have ever had a pizza wheel, scissors or knife and fork to hand when using a takeaway.

Italian pizza is completely different to getting a papa John's or dominos. An Italian pizza would be eaten with a knife and fork. Do you eat a dominos with a knife and fork?

Having lived in Italy we'd only cut with knife and fork but use hands to eat.
I've never had a PJ and dominoes once...never to be repeated lol

I've occasionally ordered Papa John's, was always cut.

Isobel201 · 22/11/2025 17:52

YABU just cut it yourself, you got the correct pizza ordered? Drama over nothing.

Trishyb10 · 22/11/2025 18:06

Priviliged, pampered princess, p rat, hope no one reports you when you make a tiny error, best of luck in the future…..

Good grief. If everyone constantly complained to businesses about everything that wasn’t exactly to their satisfaction no one would ever be able to do anything.

🙄
Maybe people would give proper service if more people complained when service was shit?

Niktok · 22/11/2025 18:14

This can’t be serious?

blackpooolrock · 22/11/2025 18:17

you need to get a life.

I lived in Italy and we ate it with a knife and fork. Everyone in pizzerie does too.

Yanbu id be pissed of to papa johns is expensive i expect it to come ready to eat out the box you shouldn't have to mess about cutting it up yourself

Jeez, how do you react to actual problems?

liveforsummer · 22/11/2025 18:34

Our local pizza place, bit more upmarket than papa johns, only cuts the pizza if you request it

I think you are being a bit silly tbh.

I always wonder who has time and energy to complain about stuff like this. Think of all the things you could have been doing when you had your nose in your phone or laptop making yourself pointlessly angry over something you were never going to win.

Just isn’t worth the grief.

Like what? Written her first novel? Conquered Everest? Learned Japanese?

I don’t know how long you think it takes to click a “How was your pizza?” link and to reply “Nice, but hadn’t been sliced before delivery”.

bbwbwka · 22/11/2025 18:47

I expect they do cut the pizzas usually, but someone forgot and closed the box. I don't think I would complain about someone forgetting that. I would just scoff the pizza.

You’ve managed to be arsey with the OP and show off about how far above common little fast food brands you are in one post. Have a medal.

Skybluepinky · 22/11/2025 18:59

Shocked you complained, do you not have scissors?

RedToothBrush · 22/11/2025 19:15

Even MN is trying to sell pizza cutters on this thread.

To complain that my pizza wasn’t cut for me?
Mumtobabyhavoc · 22/11/2025 19:17

I'm rather bemused at the low bar set for service and how everyone prefers to argue with each other than confront someone who provided a less than stellar service.
The company should be grateful for your business and strive to provide the best with pride. If it isn't the best, an apology should be offered with a replacement done correctly. Many of the replies calling the OP entitled 😂 seem to think a business is doing you a favour by selling you something. Raise the bar, friends!

WhamBamThankU · 22/11/2025 19:21

I’d be a bit surprised but I’d be able to solve the issue myself in seconds. Not worth getting someone in trouble

nomas · 22/11/2025 19:23

Pizzas should be cut.

But if they’re not as a one-off, it’s not the end of the world.

Demanding a replacement pizza is ridiculous.

The business doesn’t want repeat business from people like you and OP.

Dollymylove · 22/11/2025 19:30

How petty!! They probably just forgot. I wouldnt bother cutting it up. Just tear chunks off it 😅

you think cutting a pizza makes their service stellar? Who said pizza was best delivered cut into pieces?

you need to give your head a wobble.

PetuniaT · 22/11/2025 19:38

I'm sure that residents of Gaza or Kyiv would have been miffed too.
