Don’t know why I hate i?! Does anyone else?

I shower on working days (3 x per week) and if meeting up with friends etc, but if i’m off for a while, I don’t, is that gross? I could easily go a week if only doing school drop off and food shop, dog walks

Dont you exercise?

surprisebaby12 · 12/11/2025 15:28

Yes, absolutely every day. I feel disgusting if I can’t shower.

Arlanymor · 12/11/2025 15:29

I shower a minimum of once a day - it wakes me up, I like feeling clean.

Lieandcheerios · 12/11/2025 15:29

I’ve said YABU even though I do the same. Are you struggling with self care or just happy to be a mucky pup?

Didntask · 12/11/2025 15:29

I do shower every day, but only wash my hair twice a week (I've got a lot of hair, it takes ages to dry and defrizz). It only takes 5 mins to shower, there's no excuse not to really.

Overtheatlantic · 12/11/2025 15:29

I bathe everyday but I hate washing my hair so only do it once a week in the shower. I think it’s a sensory issue.

Singinghollybob · 12/11/2025 15:30

Yes I shower every day, twice when I've been to the gym. But I love a shower!

Pebblesandstones008 · 12/11/2025 15:30

I shower daily even if it’s a quick 5 min wash but I do wash my hair and shave twice a week

londongirl12 · 12/11/2025 15:30

Shower every day but only wash my hair when I need to.

SunnyDolly · 12/11/2025 15:31

Yes I shower every day I feel so clammy if I don’t. Are you washing your face every day at least?

HandyCandy · 12/11/2025 15:33

I shower most days as I either need to wash my hair (every other day) or I exercise, but tbh if there are odd days when it didn't happen it never used to bother me. I've started sweating more as I get older so I am beginning to prefer it more often.

Usually when I get up I'm about to do the school run or a workout so on those days it makes more sense to do it after that rather than immediately on waking, as both can make me sweaty!

itsthetea · 12/11/2025 15:33

Hair once or twice a week

shower roughly every other day / more if being unusually active ( unless it’s a backpacking trip !) and less if slobbing on the sofa and having a chilled out weekend . Too much irritates my skin

YorksMa · 12/11/2025 15:34

You're not alone. I hate showering especially and would happily never do it again if science could figure out a way to get clean without it. As I've got older, I have started to wonder if I am ND (I'm of an age where such things weren't considered) and I wonder if this is one of them.

FeelinTwentySixPointTwo · 12/11/2025 15:35

Shower every morning, and on days when I run on the evening instead of the morning I'll shower again.
As a pp said, do you not exercise?

ItsFridayIminLoveJS · 12/11/2025 15:35

Oh l love the feeling after a shower.. all fresh and clean.. .. been in bed all night.. probably sweated ...l couldn't put clean clothes on if l didn't have a clean body.. can take as little as a few minutes.. short hair here so l wash my hair too. I have a wet room so it's usually a sit down shower.. have to wash off all those over night yucky skin cells. If you don't shower every day what do you do about deodorant? You can't put that on top of yesterday's?

QuiltPlantCandle · 12/11/2025 15:35

There are definitely days when I don't feel like it, and there are occasionally days when I haven't exercised and I'm not going anywhere that I give it a miss. But then I'll feel like I really need one early the next day,

There's a difference between showering and washing your hair though. I wash my hair every day when I shower otherwise it gets really greasy. The only exception is if I take a second shower in a day, for example if I've exercised later in the day and I'll have a quick shower after that. I appreciate that not everyone needs to wash their hair as often, A non-hair washing shower literally takes less than five minutes from getting undressed to being dressed again. There's really no excuse not to do that pretty much every day.

I don't shower every day. I hate getting naked and standing under running water. I shower maybe twice a week.

I do a sponge bath twice a week. I stand at the sink in a towel. I put hot water and soap on a sponge. I then wash any areas that may sweat/smell with the sponge

I hate the fact that we have to shower but still do it every day 😂

SabbatWheel · 12/11/2025 15:40

I very rarely have a shower but I have a bath every evening and wash my hair every day (but it’s short and very fine so takes literally 3mins to dry with a hairdryer.)
Only when ill and slobbing round in the dressing gown of doom do I not wash.

BurntBroccoli · 12/11/2025 15:40

I shower every day but only wash my hair once/twice a week. I do wash just my fringe every day though as it gets really flat.

Myoldbear · 12/11/2025 15:41

I have baths, so much warmer, as I get cold easily. Also the bath oil seeps in so I don't get dry skin.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/11/2025 15:41

YANBU.
I bath every day and wash my hair every other day. and if id got particularly hot I might have a quick shower too. But it’s up to you - not everyone sweats/gets greasy as much as others. When I was a kid, people didn’t usually bathe daily - washed with a flannel in between.

Finto1111 · 12/11/2025 15:42

A lot of us don't have baths .
