I think many people feel this is pretty much where we’re at with everyday crime.

Policing has never been more robust and effective and you have never been more safe in this country. You’ve bought into the right wing myth that this country is lawless. Just look up the stats, they’ll tell you exactly that.

I read a lot of your posts and can only imagine you’re in a parallel universe.

What they feel and what is true are two different things. It is demonstrably false to claim there is total non-policing. But alas police cannot be everywhere, covering every citizen at the same time. (Especially as knife crime rates for example appear to be falling last I read.)

TeenagersAngst · 10/11/2025 12:22

I live in London and can tell you, street crime and violent crime are rising not falling.

I can absolutely understand why people feel that way.

What does the actual data show?

The data shows the exact opposite, but then again right wingers have never been good at dealing with statistics.

All the facts show that violent crime, sex crime, terrorism, everything except racism is going down. And with Labour finally in power we should see racism decline in the long term aswell.

So all the people saying he was an asylum seeker/immigrant, are you going to apologise now? Turns out he’s just another typical stabby Brit.

Sad News about the poor woman who passed away however.

As British as that Welsh choirboy?

Yes, the Southport killer was a British man. Welsh specifically in that case but British nonetheless. Glad you agree.

Yes - British. Please take your racism elsewhere.

@TheFrendo I have no doubt that your post will eventually get deleted because of its racist content. I did think about reporting it myself, but then I thought it was better to let it stand so that other posters can see you for exactly what you are.

The data shows that recorded crime in London over the last decade has increased - in contrast to crime across the rest of England and Wales.

Swiftasthewind · 10/11/2025 12:51

In light of that horrifically racist comment I would like to remind everybody that diversity is our strength. It is what makes us who we are, Britain has always been incredibly racially diverse, ever since the founding days of the nation. We must never lose sight of that fact or let the white supremacists tell you otherwise.

So outside of London (in cities such as Birmingham for example) it is incorrect to say there is “total non-policing” as you claimed about Brum?

Decent posters will obviously be disgusted by racist comments like the one above. In many ways, though, I think it is better that we let these people expose themselves for what they truly are, so that everyone knows that their views should be ignored.

Hicupping · 10/11/2025 12:54

She died, name was Katie Fox. She was just waiting at the bus stop.
You cannot tell me that there isn't an increase in violent and sexual crime outside the home. Maybe crime within gangs has gone down. The increase in reported rapes is horrifying but not as much as politicians silence/excuses on it. And no it's not all 'brown' people, I do data analysis for a living and looked at ONS data, not great quality data tbf. At the same time politicians are reducing sentences and that's if they get one.
I feel for her and her family, there just aren't words.

You've already told me off for hyperbole. I stand corrected. I'm sure the family of the young lady stabbed in Birmingham will feel much better that we have minimal policing of the streets, not total non-policing.

“Minimal policing” is still hyperbole.

TeenagersAngst · 10/11/2025 12:58

Ok, there are police everywhere. Falling over them every time I wander into town. Constantly seeing arrests for minor crime. It's like the police can't control themselves.

Oh hang on... is that hyperbole too?

There is always a police presence in every city. Birmingham and London included. But how much police officers would you need to see not believe there was “non-existant / minimal policing”?

(And him being caught pretty much immediately suggests not quite “minimal / non-existant policing”)

If you're so hot on facts, how do you explain if Britain has been racially diverse since it's 'founding' (whatever that means), that before WW2, the non-white populace was estimated to be less than 0.5% of the population?

So why aren't shoplifters arrested?

JHound · 10/11/2025 13:06

TeenagersAngst · 10/11/2025 13:03

So why aren't shoplifters arrested?

Because supermarkets are the one place that have never been crawling with police officers (which is the case for almost all private venues).

They are arrested if handed over to the though police though. Not sure how shoplifting falls under the “violent crime” category though.

TeenagersAngst · 10/11/2025 13:08

And if you refer back to the first post you started interrogating, you'll see I said everyday crime.

CurlewKate · 10/11/2025 13:08

There does seem a bit of cognitive dissonance between the contention that there is minimal policing and the fact that Raphael was apprehended so very quickly.
