Amazon delivery driver in pub on duty.

More a What would you do than an AIBU.

Currently awaiting an Amazon delivery. It’s important as I need it for my business and need it today so products can be made to send out tomorrow. So I’m anxious for it to arrive.
I have been following the tracking of the van. I’m the next delivery and have been for over 35minutes. The van has not moved in that time and is in a car park outside a pub a couple of miles away. The pub is down a lane with no other properties or buildings down there and the tracking is showing it in the car park.

I’m not going to lie I’m pissed off because I need my parcel urgently and I’m waiting for a delivery man to finish his drink in the pub and actually bother to deliver it.
My question is would you report them to Amazon? I have screenshots of the tracking.

I just need to know did the parcel eventually arrive...and was the driver steaming.

Nope no sign of the parcel. Not heard from my business partner to say if she has heard from Amazon.

Breaks for 3hrs?

You have no idea why his tracking device showed him to be there for 3 hours.
As you were able to track him, do you not think his boss was also able to track him? And therefore him just stopping off for a 3 hour piss up is unlikely, at best? Critical thinking is not your strong point…

I simply asked a question as to whether a pub is an appropriate place for a driver to take a break. Apparently according to Mumsnet it is. So there you go.

It does however breach amazons code of conduct for their drivers….

Fucking hell.
You: AIBU?
Literally everybody: Yes.
You: searches Amazon code of conduct

What was the point in this thread!?

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 23:03

Bundleflower · 06/11/2025 23:02

Why? Because you’ve decided it’s not appropriate? What about a cafe with an alcohol license? Or the car park of a Bargain Booze?
Honestly you need to have a day off!

I will agree I need a day off. Have had 3 days in total this year! The joys of running a business!

I didn’t. My business partners husband did.

Plenty of time to repeatedly track a delivery driver and post multiple times on MN about him though. Maybe you need to work on time management.

No I don’t but I’m sure Amazon will dea with it appropriately!

Yes, I’m sure they will deal with it as they see fit. Sadly for you, you’ll never know the outcome 😔

He’s not on duty he’s not a policeman.
He’s probably parked up in a car park to eat a sandwich, I doubt he’s in the pub necking jd
And if you can track him then Amazon can as well so presumably they are ok with whatever he’s doing

I mean REALLY?!
How self absorbed are you in the importance of your life trumps that of all others??
More man/woman may have been working non stop for 8 maybe 10hrs and needs a bloody break!
Get a grip and if you're really that bothered, drive to the bloody pub and save them a delivery drop

So you’ve gone ahead and reported the driver based on your suspicions?
Im starting to believe the sole purpose of this thread was to goad.
If you’re that busy that you have only had 3 days off this year then you sure as shit wouldn’t have the energy for such ridiculous wastes of time as this.

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 23:01

Breaks for 3hrs?

The mistake you are making is in thinking that one truck and one driver has your parcel and is responsible. Clearly something has happened and you have yet to contact Amazon and ask where your parcel is.

I have Prime which often guarantees same day delivery which often is delayed by a day, or two.
Regardless, it's still faster and more convenient than me doing the errand myself. 🤔

Blusteryskies · 06/11/2025 23:12

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 19:35

He is at a well known drinkers pub. It isn’t the type of place you go for a break.

Has it crossed your mind that it might of been his last delivery and he's simply having his break in the car park?

I think you need to calm down, your post and replies are unhinged.

Mistyglade · 06/11/2025 23:15

Busybodying at its finest, lot of it on here lately.

UneFoisAuChalet · 06/11/2025 23:16

Seriously who the fuck out there who has a business relies on Amazon?? Is this Etsy? Don’t you have a ‘real’ supplier?

SheSaidHummingbird · 06/11/2025 23:16

Hoping so much that courier is having the longest, merriest nap/ pee/ break/ tryst/ catch up with friends/ Traitors binge watch everrrrrr. And that this particular parcel ends up hopelessly lost.

They will probably laugh and move on. Amazon doesn’t care about you and your little business OP

Blusteryskies · 06/11/2025 23:19

The driver's van may have broken down. Irregardless, you need to get a life. Perhaps take a day off!

Well it’s not his last delivery because he hasn’t delivered his last delivery!

Amazon has been contacted about the late delivery. I don’t believe the pub has been mentioned.

Yes we are a real business! Funnily enough real businesses sometimes use Amazon too! Hope that doesn’t shock you too much! We have many many suppliers - but not for random parts for a machiene that only broke yesterday.
