Amazon delivery driver in pub on duty.

More a What would you do than an AIBU.

Currently awaiting an Amazon delivery. It’s important as I need it for my business and need it today so products can be made to send out tomorrow. So I’m anxious for it to arrive.
I have been following the tracking of the van. I’m the next delivery and have been for over 35minutes. The van has not moved in that time and is in a car park outside a pub a couple of miles away. The pub is down a lane with no other properties or buildings down there and the tracking is showing it in the car park.

I’m not going to lie I’m pissed off because I need my parcel urgently and I’m waiting for a delivery man to finish his drink in the pub and actually bother to deliver it.
My question is would you report them to Amazon? I have screenshots of the tracking.

Only on Mumsnet.

Would you prefer him to ask if he could use your toilet, since he “shouldn’t” be at the pub?

Vodka1 · 06/11/2025 21:36

Eww, what a super shitty person, that is a crap thing to do, trying to cost someone their job with your assumptions because of your precious parcel.

How grim

Mrswhiskers87 · 06/11/2025 21:39

You should’ve been more organised and ordered ahead of time. Do you think you’re the queen ffs 😂😂

havingoneofthosedays · 06/11/2025 21:39

What a fucking overreaction

He has been 35 mins so not a quick break. Pub doesn’t serve or sell food. Never has.
Not the type of place you would go for a snack or a coke.

Sometimes the tracking isn’t reliable, mine have said the driver is 60 mins away and they’ve knocked on the door 2 seconds later. He could have no reception so the tracking won’t update.
He could have been making a delivery to the pub and is eating his food in the car.
He might have broken down, unless you ask him when he gets there you’ll never know, not that it’s really any of your business

TheNameWasOnceChosen · 06/11/2025 21:46

I don't drink and go in pubs all the time.

mindutopia · 06/11/2025 21:47

I’m completely teetotal. I go to the pub all the time. Surely, the man is entitled to a pee break and a coffee. Just because someone is in a pub car park, does not mean they are getting drunk in the pub. Hell, he’s possibly made made a delivery there, which is why he decided to have a break. Or he’s gotten stuck hitting a pothole and is waiting on a recovery vehicle. I’m not a fan of alcohol, but you sure sound like you could do with a drink at the moment to loosen up a bit. 😂

Surroundedbyfools · 06/11/2025 19:37

Maybe you should be more organised and order ur things in advance so you don’t need to be watching every move that some poorly paid delivery driver makes. You don’t own anybody !

This.
How obnoxious can one person be.

The poor man may be eating a sandwich from home, safely parked off the road.

Imagine being such an asshole to track a poorly paid Amazon driver and gripe that they aren't hustling fast enough.

herbaltincture · 06/11/2025 21:48

Why wouldn't you just go into the pub, find him, and tell him you need your parcel? So much drama.

ChaToilLeam · 06/11/2025 21:49

Oh for heaven’s sake, get another hobby.

Too busy practicing her compo face for tomorrow's local rag.

Cherrytree86 · 06/11/2025 21:58

Could you buy a breathalyser OP and then go and test him when he leaves the pub? And then call the police to arrest him? @sosorryimnotsorry

MyCrushWithEyeliner · 06/11/2025 21:58

Maybe she/he was trying to avoid you

Anyahyacinth · 06/11/2025 21:58

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 21:01

Why? Because I don’t think it’s ok for people to drive whilst under the influence? I have lost close family members at the hands of a van driver under the influence. So yes I do take it seriously!
If he had broken down they would have cancelled the delivery by now. It’s over 2 and a half hours late. I am leaving to go home now. My business partner is going to handle it.

Does it not occur to you his vehicle may have broken down, he could have been taken ill…anything at all. The tracking and stops away on Amazon is often nonsense …a fiction

usedtobeaylis · 06/11/2025 22:00

I love the fact the OP doesn't think the drivers have any accountability either, as if the driver's manager isn't going to notice undelivered parcels and his van sitting stationary for hours 😆

Plot twist... her Amazon order was a breathalyser.

Dollymylove · 06/11/2025 22:04

My son did a stint as an amazon driver and its absolutely relentless. They have to deliver 100s upon 100s of parcels.
They aren't robots, they are entitled to a break

Gentlydoesit2 · 06/11/2025 22:07

That tracking is never accurate. Get a life OP

ForFunnyOliveEagle · 06/11/2025 22:07

You’re a complete busybody OP, get a life and leave the poor man alone.

Laserwho · 06/11/2025 22:09

I have seen Amazon drivers eating sandwiches in their van outside my house. They are entitled to a break

BotterMon · 06/11/2025 22:10

Well if it was so urgent why didn't you just go and collect it as you knew exactly where he was? Better use of your time and energy than bitching on here.

Itsnotallaboutyoulikeyouthink · 06/11/2025 22:15

So if you needed it that urgently why didn’t you just go to the club and prompt him along.

Musicalmistress · 06/11/2025 22:17

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 19:32

Pub doesn’t sell food. It’s a tiny drinkers pub. Much more convenient places to stop.

Maybe he’s having his own packed lunch in their car park?

MagentaRocks · 06/11/2025 22:20

Tracking isn’t always reliable. I have had parcels delivered when the tracker says they are streets away. It sometimes takes a while to catch up.

you do not know he is drinking. Maybe he has had a medical episode or something. Anything could have happened.

CherrieTomaties · 06/11/2025 22:23

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 20:18

Wow! Thanks for the feedback! Driver is still at the pub. It’s now been 1hr and 29 minutes since we first looked at the tracking.
I take drink driving extremely seriously and any member of staff here would be in trouble if they were caught at the pub on a break. Incidentally we are now 2hrs outside the delivery window which ended at 6:15.

You have absolutely no concrete evidence that he was drink driving.

You sound utterly batshit and probably could benefit from some hobbies.
