Amazon delivery driver in pub on duty.

More a What would you do than an AIBU.

Currently awaiting an Amazon delivery. It’s important as I need it for my business and need it today so products can be made to send out tomorrow. So I’m anxious for it to arrive.
I have been following the tracking of the van. I’m the next delivery and have been for over 35minutes. The van has not moved in that time and is in a car park outside a pub a couple of miles away. The pub is down a lane with no other properties or buildings down there and the tracking is showing it in the car park.

I’m not going to lie I’m pissed off because I need my parcel urgently and I’m waiting for a delivery man to finish his drink in the pub and actually bother to deliver it.
My question is would you report them to Amazon? I have screenshots of the tracking.

OP posts:

Sounds like the tracking facility has gone wrong, it happens quite a lot. It's either got stuck or just totally inaccurate.

Mothership4two · 07/11/2025 04:40

It went from a remote pub to a tiny drinkers pub to a pub that doesn't sell soft drinks (!) to a dodgy drugs den. Considering OP feels uncomfortable just driving past it, they seem to know quite a lot about what goes on there - no soft drinks/no meals. As it's so remote maybe it's the only place around to stop for a loo break? I would have just assumed their car had broken down. My Amazon delivery maps aren't so accurate that I can pinpoint exactly where the driver is. I have also never got involved (or close) enough to be able to tell whether any of the drivers were 'under the influence'.

If the delivery is/was very late then respond on feedback.

Did it actually turn up?

Agree. Especially in remote areas with little or no signal which it sounds like

I'm convinced my Amazon driver stops for a shag on the way to deliver my stuff, I get the notification he is 8 stops away then by the time he gets to 6 deliveries away he is on the next estate to me & stuck on the map at the same place for up to 2 hours.

Report him! Pretty sure shags are against the Amazon code of conduct. The absolute cheek of some people

So now after this thread, thousands of folk awaiting their Amazon lover visits are frantically texting....Don't park your van outside.

:-)

I'm going to be taking a lot more interest in my Amazon drivers route map from now on!

Mothership4two · 07/11/2025 05:05

Wish MN would bring back the laughing emoji

dongbibi · 07/11/2025 05:13

Maybe he’s sat in the car park having his break.

RedTagAlan · 07/11/2025 05:13

I am sort of feeling worried for the service tech coming to fit the part tomorrow.

There is just so much that can go wrong. The tech might be delayed, forget a specific spanner, or horror of horror, discover the wrong part has been ordered or delivered.

I do find it odd the business owner had to order a spare from Amazon. Usually for specialist machines, the tech will have the spares. For the warranty and all that.

I suppose the lesson here is to risk assess machine maintenance and make sure the spares cupboard is up to date.

chocolateychurros · 07/11/2025 05:14

Wow this is unbelievable. How quick are you to jump to conclusions? Imagine if something else was going on. He could have had an upset stomach for example, or just used the pub’s carpark, or felt unwell for whatever reason. Good god what a drama over a package. How can you be so quick to want to make trouble for others?

rwalker · 07/11/2025 05:44

Having worked for one of the utilities I’d often have my dinner break in any carpark I drove past regardless I’d if was a pub , supermarket or leisure centre

Found him OP!! He’s got the part you needed!

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 07/11/2025 06:13

Probably a swingers pub, and driver has stopped for a quick shag.

springintoaction2 · 07/11/2025 06:18

@tuvamoodyson 😅😂

The OP is getting a good ole Mumsnet bashing on this thread. Plus she's been up half the night answering posts.

Amazon drivers seem to get a hard time. The ones who deliver the parcel but have the audacity to open a door to do so! 😂 That got a lot of folk frothing at the mouth.

This could be the same driver.... but apparently it's okay if he has a 3 hour break in a pub down the road - and we must all defend his right to do so.

IDontDrinkTea · 07/11/2025 06:25

Where I used to live, one of the Amazon drivers was having an affair with the woman three doors down. He’d frequently be outside her house for several hours in the afternoon when her husband was out and occasionally in the summer they’d leave the windows open and you’d hear their sound effects 🤦🏼‍♀️

NecessaryScene · 07/11/2025 06:26

Man you seem to think that people are doing this just to annoy you... leave the poor bloke alone.

To be fair, maybe this is a tight-knit community, and like the pub is "well known", it could well be the case that OP is also "well known", so people are doing this just to annoy her.

Ahh. And do you live 3 doors up from a dive pub :-) Or maybe she lives next door to the pub.

Can you pop over and knock her up? Tell her to tell him urgent parcel.

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 22:54

Where did I say he has shown up under the influence before? Comprehension clearly isn’t your strong suit!

Well, you made a general statement about delivery drivers being under the influence and you seem to know a lot about this man so I assumed. But the point still stands, you’ve clearly never reported any of the others you claim to have been under the influence otherwise you would have said.

Loopylou7219 · 07/11/2025 06:47

35mins? How do you know he/she aren't entitled to an hours break especially if the job involves driving! They might just be in the car park eating a packed lunch or a sandwich they picked up earlier....

BreakfastOfChampignons · 07/11/2025 06:47

Sounds like he was warned about his next customer and needed a bit of Dutch courage

He probably knows her and has to psyche himself up first… ‘You CAN do it! Just deliver the parcel, take the photo….and RUN!!! ‘🏃‍♂️

Lulu1919 · 07/11/2025 06:53

Might be sitting in car park eating his packed lunch and coffee from his flask !!

JeannetteBlue · 07/11/2025 06:54

Funny how many people can't read. I'd be annoyed too OP if the Amazon driver had still not turned up 1hr+ later! If it was half an hour then that's more likely to be a break. But yeah. Not reasonable to simply stop doing deliveries and honestly I'd have been tempted to go there if it was only 8 mins away but I'm probably in a minority.

Owly11 · 07/11/2025 06:55

You have got to be joking? This is a made up thread.
