Amazon delivery driver in pub on duty.

More a What would you do than an AIBU.

Currently awaiting an Amazon delivery. It’s important as I need it for my business and need it today so products can be made to send out tomorrow. So I’m anxious for it to arrive.
I have been following the tracking of the van. I’m the next delivery and have been for over 35minutes. The van has not moved in that time and is in a car park outside a pub a couple of miles away. The pub is down a lane with no other properties or buildings down there and the tracking is showing it in the car park.

I’m not going to lie I’m pissed off because I need my parcel urgently and I’m waiting for a delivery man to finish his drink in the pub and actually bother to deliver it.
My question is would you report them to Amazon? I have screenshots of the tracking.

It’s the type of place you don’t go unless you know them. And no I doubt many go there primarily for a drink. God knows how they still open and have a license. One of the owners has been inside several times for drugs and money laundering. The type of place that make you uncomfortable even driving past. It is very well known round here.
You wouldn’t stop there for a break and sit in the van.

Maybe he knows them? You should have popped along and asked for your parcel if it’s only 8 minutes away although of course there is the possibility the tracker was out. Honestly though a pub where no one goes unless getting water isn’t ideal to be in a rural area near no housing. The police must have a field day catching drunk drivers if every single person there is drinking but needs a car to get there as it’s so remote. Perhaps you’re listening to rumours too much?

Onelifeonly · 07/11/2025 06:57

His only role in your life is to make a delivery. The rest is none of your business.

sashh · 07/11/2025 06:58

OP I hope you now have your parcel and it will be fitted and everything is good.

I just have to say though, you only know what the tracking says. You don't know if the GPS has stopped working, if the app has had a glitch.

Nevernonono · 07/11/2025 07:01

JeannetteBlue · 07/11/2025 06:54

Funny how many people can't read. I'd be annoyed too OP if the Amazon driver had still not turned up 1hr+ later! If it was half an hour then that's more likely to be a break. But yeah. Not reasonable to simply stop doing deliveries and honestly I'd have been tempted to go there if it was only 8 mins away but I'm probably in a minority.

Yes you are, you don’t think the tracker maybe wrong?

How do you or the OP know why he’s stopped, i
mesn she thinks it’s because he getting pissed, or drug taking.

Why do you think he’s stopped?

OP can’t go there for her very important parcel, she’s scared even driving past.

Zanatdy · 07/11/2025 07:02

Maybe he had received some bad news, parked up and got hammered. Maybe he has parked up there and gone somewhere else. You have no idea but have just assumed he’s on a piss up and is going to drink and drive. Maybe your parcel isn’t on board with him and tracking is wrong and he’s finished for the day. One day service doesn’t always happen.

LoisGriffinskitchen · 07/11/2025 07:07

Yeah I’m calling it …..this didn’t happen,

Even when the tracking tells you they are however many stops away it doesn’t show you much more than general location. It’s not THAT accurate.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/11/2025 07:09

So it’s past 7 am I assume this very important thing needed for business hasn’t arrived.

What does the Amazon account say now?

EleanorReally · 07/11/2025 07:12

the tracking could be way off
i am surprised you didnt take a trip to the pub to search for him

Humanswarm · 07/11/2025 07:16

Wow, you realise how entitled you sound. Venting your frustration at a late parcel is one thing. To make up scenarios which are potentially detrimental to another's livelihood and reputation is another.
Absolutely bonkers. And we wonder why the world's going to shit with people like this about.

Theunamedcat · 07/11/2025 07:24

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 19:35

He is at a well known drinkers pub. It isn’t the type of place you go for a break.

Unless he is a local he cannot possibly know that

Lastfroginthebox · 07/11/2025 07:28

The driver is a human being who needs a break, food and the toilet. YABVVVVVU!

TimeForATerf · 07/11/2025 07:30

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 20:19

It wouldn’t be the first time we have had delivery drivers turn up clearly under the influence.

Oh come on! Every single Amazon delivery I have had for literally years, has been a knock on the door if I’m lucky and the parcel on the step. I have barely had time to shout thank you before they’re off. I certainly wouldn’t have time to do a sobriety check.

BerryTwister · 07/11/2025 07:37

When you first posted I was thinking you should cut the driver some slack, he was just having a break etc. But after he stayed so long and your delivery slot came and went, then I would have reported him. But actually I would have also driven to the pub myself to get the parcel if it was that important.

@Lastfroginthebox you need to read OP’s posts. He was at the pub for at least 2.5 hours, and never did deliver the parcel as far as I can gather. Is that an acceptable break?

we dont know for sure he was at the pub, however tracks an amazon driver to that extent?

andweallsingalong · 07/11/2025 07:46

If you were so desperate for the thingymyjig and suspected he would drink drive why didn't you just drive to the pub instead of spending hours hand wringing.

If he was there you could say oy, Bob can I have my parcel. Then you'd get your goods and be able to assess if he was drunk.

If drunk with his van in the car park you could then ring 999 and alert the police

I've read all OP's posts now and assume the tracker stopped working. But the OP started objecting and being ridiculous when the driver hadn't been there long.

ObtuseMoose · 06/11/2025 19:42

Fuck me, what an arsehole (not the driver!)

Absolutely!

Laserwho · 07/11/2025 07:52

sosorryimnotsorry · 06/11/2025 22:58

I never said they couldn’t take breaks, but I am not convinced a pub in the middle of nowhere is an appropriate place for anyone in the middle of a shift - least of all a driver to take one.

A pub in the middle of nowhere is the perfect place. Only toilet around.

Needtosoundoffandbreathe · 07/11/2025 07:59

It's entirely possible something other than the driver going drinking has happened. If you can spend all this time posting on the thread, you could have driven to the pub to pick up the parcel from the driver.

CitizenofMoronia · 07/11/2025 08:14

Are you off your tree? How do you know he's not broken down, eating his lunch he has in the van? They have a time schedule to follow and have to meet it, he's NOT sitting in the pub drinking to mess up your day.. Also, they are self-employed, so what you are going to report to whom is beyond me.

CaptainMyCaptain · 07/11/2025 08:18

XenoBitch · 06/11/2025 19:34

Do you want him to piss into a bottle in his car and leave it on the roadside instead?

He (women are Amazon drivers too), are allowed a break.

This. My first thought was that he had gone in to use the loo.

unicorntail · 07/11/2025 08:18

You keep saying it’s not that kind of pub so what kind of pub is it that makes it such an inappropriate place to go? because most pubs sell drinks and have a toilet. I think you are being a snob because in your opinion he called into a less than classy to you pub instead of a reputable fine dine.

A problem with the van maybe? A breakdown? If he hasn't delivered all his parcels then someone will know about it anyway and act according to what has actually happened.

Cherrytree86 · 07/11/2025 08:22

I mean… you seem to know an awful lot about this ‘drinkers pub’ OP…do you have a drink problem? @sosorryimnotsorry
