GreyCloudsLooming · 12/10/2025 19:58

No, it’s not particularly cold.

It’s on, on a programme to come on for 30 minutes in the kitchen and family area to come on before people get up and early evening. It’s mostly not kicking in as I have it set pretty low.

UnNiddeRides · 12/10/2025 20:00

It goes on when the thermostat does what I’ve set it to, so yes.

Wowzel · 12/10/2025 20:00

Yes, my husband has set it to be on 22 and I am hot.

Onemoreagainforluck · 12/10/2025 20:01

Not yet OP.

The living room thermostat is currently sat at 17.5

I've got a blanket on my knees and I'm fine. I won't be putting the heating on until November at the earliest.

Haloween · 12/10/2025 19:59

It was 4 degrees this morning.

Not where I am. It’s been bright and sunny all day. It’s 18.5 degrees right now at 8pm inside.

RememberBeKindWithKaren · 12/10/2025 20:02

Yes indeedy.. hour in the morning and about 5 hours til bedtime

Financeisfun · 12/10/2025 20:02

No. It was warm here today. I only shut my windows about half an hour ago. Ours won't be on for ages yet.

HansHolbein · 12/10/2025 20:03

Yes, been on for about a month.

Createausername1970 · 12/10/2025 20:03

It's not cold where I live and the property is well insulated.

It's set to come on at 6.00 a.m. if it's colder than 18 degrees. Hive has told me for the last few mornings that the ambient temperature is not that low, but I have been a bit chilly so I have done a 45 minute boost just to take the chill off - or at least what I perceived to be a chill, because Hive disagrees with me.

Ohdearwhatnow4 · 12/10/2025 20:04

No but will be putting thicker quilts and getting heated blankets out.

Chesticov · 12/10/2025 20:06

It’s warm here at the moment in South West. Sunny day today so we don’t need it yet. And DH just cooked a roast and heated up the whole house. However a few weeks back, the nights were pretty cold and I had my electric blanket on.

thisishowloween · 12/10/2025 20:06

No, it was 18 degrees here today. We still have the windows open all day.

coffeeagogo · 12/10/2025 20:07

It’s not cold enough yet, it’s been a lovely sunny day in London and my house is 20c currently from the sunshine today. We did spend a lot of money insulating it when we did a huge renovation 15 years ago which was the smartest money we ever spent!

Ilikewinter · 12/10/2025 20:09

Not yet, the stat is still showing 20 degrees, but the boiler is due a service so we switched it on to see if the radiators all work!

Imlyingandthatsthetruth · 12/10/2025 20:13

You want the temperature in your house to be 20 Deg? So set the thermostat to 20 Deg and leave the CH on all year. What am I missing?

INX · 12/10/2025 20:15

We've only ever used it as an when we need it so it's not on a timer or anything.

I live down South and it's been on/off for 20 minutes here and here since September.

I haven't had to put it on for a couple of weeks though.

socks1107 · 12/10/2025 20:16

Yes for the odd hour some evenings. It takes the edge off it and once it’s been on an hour it stays nice

HeyThereDelila · 12/10/2025 20:17

No, we’re down south and it’s not cold enough yet.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 12/10/2025 20:18

Nope, not until November. On another note, we’re getting our whole system looked at as there’s been a few issues. We had a leak before the summer so we’ve enlisted some help before it fully goes on.

JudgeJ · 12/10/2025 20:19

Wowzel · 12/10/2025 20:00

Yes, my husband has set it to be on 22 and I am hot.

I'd melt at that temperature!

user593 · 12/10/2025 20:21

Our thermostats are set to 22 so it is coming on from time to time. First full winter with underfloor heating which DC1 seems to dislike so I’m often having to override it.

umberellaonesie · 12/10/2025 20:21

Not yet, and I'm in Scotland. All the upstairs windows are still open all the time.
We are a well insulated mid terrace though.
