Men violently preventing women from congregating, communicating and networking, is what the Taliban do. Why is it happening in the UK?

The FiLiA Women's Liberation Conference was targeted overnight, the attackers even live tweeted the violence.

Local politicians are so far silent.

This is literally terrorism, using fear and violence to shut down legitimate peaceful discussions.

Live: Venue vandalised and protesters demonstrate at feminist conference

The Brighton Centre has been vandalised as a feminist conference begins there today.

No, me saying that upset people will respond is a fact. Every protest, every riot, every act of terrorism, every conflict in human history has started because people felt strongly enough about something to take action.

Pointing that out is not legitimizing or making excuses for them, unless you don't know what those words mean.

You still haven’t said why men use violence and women such as FWS don’t not.

LooseCanyon · 12/10/2025 10:18

Kimura · 12/10/2025 09:59

And posters like Kimura would have lurkers believe that these men are somehow righteous, or push the both sides argument.

How many times do I have to say that I don't believe in what they stand for?

The tribalism here is frankly pathetic, to the point that anyone who strays an inch from the consensus narrative must be a secret trans activist or supporter.

Dear, dear Kimura. We see what you're doing. We've been around the #TWAW block a few times. We can spot a disingenuous poster, who just keeps and keeps and keeps on posting, all the while telling us how reasonable they are and how they don't necessarily support the men in dresses, they're just talking things through and asking us wimmin to consider certain questions and issues.

Honestly, do you think we were born yesterday 😂

Kimura · 12/10/2025 10:18

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2025 10:08

So far you have:

implied women are silly for being worried about violent trans rights activists, despite women having been assaulted by them on several occasions

told women they should be embarrassed by being intimidated by a group of violent men who hate us, because apparently their shite manifesto makes them incapable of hitting women

told women who asked you perfectly reasonable questions about your disingenuous flip flopping between justifying their activism and pretending you haven’t that they “must be on the wine”

implied that Filia was being provocative having a conference on TRA’s turf and should expect violent opposition, despite the number of lesbians there who are affected.

completely minimised this action and women’s concerns about these men.

So no.

You seem obsessed. I haven't even looked at your username. Are you keeping notes or did you just go back through 15 pages for all that?

Petitchat · 12/10/2025 10:18

Kimura · 12/10/2025 09:51

Presumably they want it to become a right that they're entitled to?

Therefore, simply put, they just want to be in womens spaces, mainly the toilets?

Yep.

Yes I have.

What @LooseCanyon said. And now I see I’m “obsessed”, unlike that pp of course who has been pushing this goady nonsense since the beginning of the thread.

Well you're entirely wrong, but crack on.

Some of you do seem like you were born yesterday, yes.

No, plenty of people are 'upset' over things, realise they have no grounds to be and work through those feelings to engage productively with society.

The reason these men have not done that is that they are violent thugs who hate women.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2025 10:20

Sure 👍🏻

TheKeatingFive · 12/10/2025 10:21

Kimura · 12/10/2025 10:19

Yes I have.

It's because of the 'upset' isn't it?

EasternStandard · 12/10/2025 10:22

Kimura · 12/10/2025 10:19

Yes I have.

No you’ve justified male violence but you haven’t addressed why women push back without it.

The more violent the group you defend are the more reason for women to say no.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2025 10:22

Also, just an update on the poll. Out of 627 votes so far, 95% of people don’t think the OP is unreasonable. So only about 35 people disagree.

Poor the men and their having to use men’s toilets plight!

TheaBrandt1 · 12/10/2025 10:33

Their cause is absolutely pathetic and ridiculous (we want to see women get changed?!) but their methods are violent and frightening.

If an angry man smashed your window because he was angry with you no sane person would question a woman (or man for that matter) being scared by that.

What’s ironic is they haven’t realised it’s them who are the bad guys and the witch finder generals of their generation.

I feel like I should have got my bingo card out for this one!

EasternStandard · 12/10/2025 10:35

TheKeatingFive · 12/10/2025 10:21

It's because of the 'upset' isn't it?

I see it’s the upset men. Watch out for those they tend to smash things threaten and be violent.

No we don’t want them.

And the pp scoffs at anyone intimidated by that male aggression, I wonder how close they’d have to be to mind it in their own life but anyway, men smash women say no.

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 12/10/2025 10:41

Kimura · 12/10/2025 09:30

Secondly, I really hoped a useful actor, such as @Kimura would turn up and do all the hard work for me, shining a light on how poor the arguments for supporting this sort of stuff is, the tired tropes about minorities, and not being supported and how that makes it OK for angry men to smash stuff up.

Except I've not made any arguments for supporting what they did, or said that its ok for angry people to smash stuff up.

I fundamentally disagree with their core belief. I'm just not interested in joining in with this overblown reaction to what happened the other day, and I'm not willing to pretend that I can't possibly understand why they did it.

It's funny, one of the things you hear a lot about the trans issue is people saying something along the lines of "I don't have to participate in their fantasy." I've certainly said similar.

It's ironic then that people here seem intent on participating in a fantasy where a militant terrorist group comparable to the Taliban or the SA have committed some unthinkable act of violence, for no other reason than some vague notion of not want women to speak.

Its almost like some of you want them to do something genuinely awful, just so you can point the finger and say you were right.

Thanks for proving my point yet again.

There are currently 634 votes but only 329 posts with several posters making multiple contributions to the thread which means the majority of people voting are not posting; they represent the silent majority.

And a particularly prolific number of posters (a number larger than 0 and smaller than 2 Wink) who are really really really desperate to educate everybody that there is nothing to see here, hardly anything happened, but whatever happened it's all justified anyway because twisty-turny-weaselly reasons, anybody who isn't all cool and relaxed about it is obsessed/foolish/silly/drunk/etc, can everybody look away and not keep bumping the thread... oh...

ThatBlackCat · 12/10/2025 11:21

Kimura · 12/10/2025 07:08

You know full well why they take issue with the organisers of this conference. There are links to their statements in this thread.

It's justification to them. That doesn't mean it's justification to you, me or anyone else, or that they're right, or that people should accept it or agree with them. I certainly don't.

I don't think that anyone here is naive enough to genuinely believe that a bunch of Trans activists want to stop women speaking at a conference 'just because' they're women.

I can only assume that some posters have a reason for on deliberately misrepresenting the situation.

I don't think that anyone here is naive enough to genuinely believe that a bunch of Trans activists want to stop women speaking at a conference 'just because' they're women.

You are very naive if you don't believe that. I am not saying all transactivists are, but it's common knowledge that a fair amount of men on the left truly are misogynistic but cannot be up front with it, so the frustration bubbles over. As someone else said in a quote (I don't know who) "Trans rights activism is so liberating for misogynists. They can't believe their luck, being able to openly show the contempt and hatred they feel for women, while still getting to pretend they're progressives."

You're fooling yourself if you don't think there are men on the left who are misogynists and are using trans as an 'outlet'. It's a boon for them.

SinnerBoy · 12/10/2025 11:22

Kimura · 10/10/2025 16:31

Again, nobody in this thread has suggested that Filia should listen to them.

I'd say it's implicit in your comment;:

It's criminal damage and the police were on the scene immediately. Angry people break stuff when they feel like they're not being listened to. Especially when the people who aren't listening pop up in their back yard.

ThatBlackCat · 12/10/2025 11:36

Kimura · 12/10/2025 09:16

Imagine admitting that you're intimidated by that lot. How embarrassing.

There were men inches from women as they went in on the first day. Some where screaming in the womens faces. One said she made it inside and then had a panic attack. If you can't how males scream into womens faces will upset women, I am just stunned. Apparently a few of the men were screaming at the women that they were murderers.

Regardless of what side you personally are on, you are seriously minimising the affects of a group of males inches from women screaming at them. You really just don't seem to get it. You really don't.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 12/10/2025 11:41

That’s fucking awful @ThatBlackCat
