Men violently preventing women from congregating, communicating and networking, is what the Taliban do. Why is it happening in the UK?

The FiLiA Women's Liberation Conference was targeted overnight, the attackers even live tweeted the violence.

Local politicians are so far silent.

This is literally terrorism, using fear and violence to shut down legitimate peaceful discussions.

Live: Venue vandalised and protesters demonstrate at feminist conference

They are left wing when the left pander to them and the right wants to protect women and girls (when it comes to this subject - not others).

The right’s motivations may not be championing women and girls but they aren’t the ones calling for men in women’s space. We need to accept this is a left wing problem.

I agree they are pandering to them and the right aren't. I suppose my point is to show to the leaders of Labour and Libs that any removal of rights for women is against liberal ideals. They've made it their issue but it shouldn't be - they need to see these men for what they are, far right anti-women protestors. We need protection from them not some blinkered man pretending they don't see the hairy knuckles they want to hit us with.

See, they couldn't hide their truth for long.
Everyone can see them for what they are now.

Violence and vandalism are unacceptable and of course illegal but describing this as terrorism is a stretch. And this is nothing like life under the Taliban, where rape and violence against women in their own homes is considered perfectly acceptable. Let's keep things in perspective.

Of course this is nothing like as extreme as the Taliban - but the men leading this ideology do share the same contempt and desire to silence and compel women to obey them. We ignore this escalating behaviour at our peril.

The trans movement NEVER calls out the threats to murder, assault, sexually assault - ever. All the trans lobby groups are completely complicit

These people believe that all their "leaders", many of our supine politicians, the media etc all have their backs and support breaking the law. After all, so many insist that the Supreme Court decision doesn't apply to men claiming to be women.

When violence and lawbreaking isn't challenged, things escalate and here it's women and girls in the firing line. I think it's fair to describe this as a form of domestic terrorism, with links to Incel culture. Until society sanctions those engaged in it, women and girls will become increasingly at risk.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/10/2025 15:11

Prevent should absolutely be looking at these groups if it’s monitoring groups other than Islamist ones (which it is).

This is horrendous. So why in the world would the first thing the council do be to rush in to appease this behaviour and actually say "we understand the anxiety and stress that many of our trans, non-binary and intersex residents are feeling at this time”?

So it’s okay to cause criminal damage and terrify women, completely misunderstanding and deliberately misrepresenting their cause, is it?

Here’s your “both sides” Caitlin Moran, right on your doorstep iirc. You might want to have a closer look.

So it’s okay to cause criminal damage and terrify women, completely misunderstanding and deliberately misrepresenting their cause, is it?

Which women were terrified at 3am when some windows of an empty building were smashed? And who has suggested that it's ok?

It's criminal damage and the police were on the scene immediately. Angry people break stuff when they feel like they're not being listened to. Especially when the people who aren't listening pop up in their back yard.

It's a bit of vandalism. You'd think they'd blown the place up in the middle of the conference or something.

er, NO.

The intimidation is clear and intentional, and publicised. Men have done a violent thing and live streamed it in order to scare and intimidate attendees.

Angry people do break things, thats why we have the police and courts, not being listened to is no reason to smash things, that's toddler behaviour.

And - people are listening to them, they keep saying the same old tired misogynistic nonsense, like women can have a penis. Others just don't agree.

"It's a bit of vandalism." it's not. it's violent intimidation designed to silence women.

Sadly I’m not surprised. TRAs behaviour has been escalating over the years. They are desperate to prevent women meeting and talking.

boo hoo they’re not being “listened to” by feminist women so they’re justified in smashing up a local venue 🙄

me “listening to” them: you say you think you are a woman and belong in women’s spaces. However you are a group of particularly misogynistic men and children who have never been told they can’t have something they want. So no.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/10/2025 15:39

What exactly is this group of women supposed to get out of “listening to” whiny tantrums? These people (mostly men, some pickme women) don’t want to be reasonable or compromise, they want dominance and capitulation.

Who said they were justified? Why are you making things up?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/10/2025 15:40

You seem to think it’s not that big a deal, don’t you? And that “the people not listening” should expect it?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 10/10/2025 15:41

What are we supposed to be listening to, exactly, @Kimura?

This. If you’re downplaying this misogynistic bullying and intimidation of women, have a word with yourself and ask yourself whether you’ve lost your moral compass.

Yes you did, you literally said “the people not listening” “had popped up” so the “angry people” felt like smashing things, as if these misogynistic wankers own Brighton or something.

Still not mentioned on BBC news website. There is:

Oh dear God. You could not make that up.
Shameful.
