In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

Yeah carry on with your pointless protest today, show the country your lack of humanity and respect for the victims of a terrorist attack in Manchester. It does your cause no good whatsoever.

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 11:42

Wanting Palestine to be free from Israel is not equal to supporting Hamas.
Wanting Israel to stop bombing Palestinian schools, hospitals and refugee camps as well as building illegal settlements is not equal to anti-Semitism.

Anyone who wholeheartedly supports the actions of Israel at this point can only be one of three things. Willfully ignorant, entirely brainwashed or simply evil.

‘Islamophobia’ is a term thrown too easily at people to shut them down. Like ‘transphobic’ to people who want to protect women’s rights, or ‘racist’ to people who are concerned about the effects of mass immigration. It’s all low brow desperation to close any debate.

So true!

The words ‘racist’ and ‘facist’ have lost all meaning.

Are you saying that every Muslim person is a supporter of Hamas? You seem to be confusing an entire religion with a small number of vile terrorists.

I don't think anyone's saying every muslim supports Hamas, Bundleflower, not least because they wouldn't be following the principles of Islam if they did

Unfortunately though it's been found that nearly half of British muslims do indeed support them, and while the actual terrorists may be small in number that's an awful lot of backing, enablement and potential facilitation

Why haven’t you included ‘anti-semitism’ in that?

I’d actually say I’m one of the more neutral posters on this thread so why would I be interested in shutting anybody down?

Some posters got close to the line with their views on Israel, those posts were rightly removed. Do you not see the double standards that when I pointed out there’s quite a lot of Islamophobia that you immediately jumped to insisting it’s not? Would you have accepted this the other way around? No you wouldn’t.

They're clearly not pointless, just look at the reaction on here for starters.
Protesting more deaths is not showing a lack of respect for other deaths, only a fool would think that calling for an end to genocide is somehow showing a lack of humanity.
Lack of humanity could be construed as ignoring or excusing the deaths of 10s of thousands of civilians.

AliceMaforethought · 04/10/2025 11:48

Just no. Read the room and also stop believing Hamas' propaganda.

BurntBroccoli · 04/10/2025 11:48

Yes and as Zack Polanski said:
Zack Polanski

“We need to not conflate the Jewish community and the ongoing genocide in Gaza. And actually putting those two things together, I say personally as a Jewish person makes me feel more at risk. I think you can both be absolutely clear that antisemitism and Islamophobia in our country is totally unacceptable and you can stand against the ongoing genocide”

Icreatedausernameyippee · 04/10/2025 11:48

Have we considered that Hamas would be more clearly viewed as terrorist and less as freedom fighters if they weren't actively fighting against the oppression of their people?

Hamas are bad. The actions that they have taken are horrific. But the waters around how people view them have been muddied because of the way people view Israel. The scale of crimes of one outweigh the other.

If Israel weren't so truly awful, no one would support Hamas.

There are an estimated 2 billion Muslims in the world, representing about 25.6% of the global population as of a recent Pew Research Center study.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand that Muslim extremists and supporters of jihad, though being a ‘small’ percentage of Muslims - a small percentage of 2 billion is still a fck load of people who hate us. Us being anyone who isn’t Muslim. Infidels if you will.

How the Global Religious Landscape Changed From 2010 to 2020

Christians remain the largest religious group, and Muslims grew the fastest from 2010 to 2020. Read how the global share of Buddhists, Hindus, Jews and the religiously unaffiliated changed, according to Pew Research Center.

Where have I said that? I’ve given you the organisation with whom Israel is fightings statement of purpose.

What would like Israel to do? Just accept their fate?

If your neighbours whole intent a purpose in life was to execute you and your family, what would you do about that?

'The words ‘racist’ and ‘facist’ have lost all meaning'

They haven't. It just the racists and fascists don't like being called that and don't consider themselves to be that in many cases.
as it ever was. 'I'm not racist but...'

I can never stomach staying on any of these anti semitic threads filled with hatred and the hope for Jewish people to be slaughtered out of existence for very long.

But it is so important that we all speak up in solidarity with our Jewish friends and neighbours, all Jewish citizens in the UK who are the most law abiding, reasonable community imaginable.

No Israeli soldier wants you dead, no Israeli soldier will come near you unless you start a war with Israel first, no Jewish person is going to attack you or join in barely controlled rioting to demand support for those who want to wipe out an entire population.

As was recently said someone who goes by the handle Joosy Jew:

British Jews don’t strap bombs to ourselves and blow up kids at concerts.
British Jews don’t drive cars into civilians or police before getting out to stab them.
British Jews don’t blow ourselves up on the London Underground.
British Jews don’t detonate ourselves on Central London buses.
British Jews don’t strap knives to our wrists and rampage through London’s markets massacring revellers.
British Jews don’t hack British soldiers head’s off on our streets.
British Jews don’t drive Jeeps loaded with propane canisters into Glasgow Airport.
British Jews don’t stab people at Victoria station while shouting Jewish slogans.
British Jews don’t stab multiple people in Forbury Gardens while shouting “God is Great”
British Jews don’t stab MPs during constituency surgeries.
British Jews don’t detonate homemade bombs in taxis near Women’s Hospitals.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland stand with the Jewish community. Terrorists and their supporters do not speak for the UK.

Now that I have made that clear, I will go and look at less disturbing, hate filled anti semitic threads.

Edited

I wonder how many keyboard enthusiasts actually get off their arses and leave their houses to protest.

Indeed

Unless you're someone who was involved in campaigning for Gaza and is now feeling discouraged.

A ceasefire is on the table

Aren't people constantly complaining about the ongoing physical protests?
