In the wake of the tragic events that took place in Manchester, I want to implore people not to lose steam or, more importantly, hope.

Gaza is still facing destruction, famine and genocide.

We need to continue to peacefully pressure our government to take action and sanction the Israeli government and to educate and inform people about the horrors faced by the Palestinian people day in and day out for the last two years.

People who opposed the liberation of Palestine want for this to be a turning point. For people to point the finger at a movement that wants to see the end of the suffering of millions and label it as inciting hate.

It's not.
And it's important.

Please don't put down your passion for Gaza.

What on earth are you talking about?

Makes sense if you track back from the poster you tagged

Utter nonsense. Trump said he’d build hotels there - the Israeli government said absolutely nothing of the sort.

This is a lie, or to give you the benefit of the doubt, wholly inaccurate. Netanyahu and the current Israeli government have openly spoken of plans to turn Gaza into housing - for the many settlers they are inviting. If you can prove they’re not doing that, feel free. It takes 1 internet search to find Netanyahu boasting about his plans to occupy Gaza.

To help you out -

Recent actions under Netanyahu
Recent settlement construction under Netanyahu's leadership includes:

  • August 2025: Controversial E1 plan approval:A defense ministry committee gave final approval for plans to build 3,400 new homes in the E1 area of the West Bank. This area is strategically located to connect the large Israeli settlement of Ma'ale Adumim to Jerusalem. Critics, including the UN and Palestinian officials, warn that the E1 plan will effectively divide the West Bank, making a contiguous Palestinian state nearly impossible.
  • September 2025: Netanyahu signs E1 expansion: At a ceremony in the Ma'ale Adumim settlement, Netanyahu signed the agreement for the E1 expansion. At the event, he stated, "there will be no Palestinian state; this place belongs to us," and pledged to "double the city's population".
  • May 2025: Major expansion announcement:His government announced plans for a significant expansion of settlements in the occupied West Bank.
  • December 2022: West Bank expansion as priority: After returning to power in late 2022, Netanyahu's right-wing, pro-settler coalition made settlement expansion a priority.
  • Increased activity under Netanyahu's government: Settlement expansion has reportedly accelerated since Netanyahu's return to power in late 2022 and intensified since the start of the Gaza war in October 2023.

I am listening to you but I just feel there are other agendas here at play.

I’m sure there are. Not with me though.

Well I don’t know what Farage said but it doesn’t sound good that you are rejecting things just because of where the information comes from.

It wasn’t information if you check out the posters link
It was Farage spouting lies
no evidence
just him stood in a room talking

don’t think he mentioned eating swans this time though

Netanyahu is the biggest terrorist of all.
Committed the worst genocide to hide his criminal past.

Exactly

How people are blind to the truth is beyond me. It’s all there in black and white and even coloured plans before October 7th

Puzzledandpissedoff · 04/10/2025 21:20

It occurs to me that I surely can't be the only one to have noticed that the latest MO from the apoligists/enablers is "prove it", "give your evidence", etc - and actually that's fair enough since assertions should be supported

So how odd that we so often see Hamas's own claims being parroted as facts, and that folk are expected to accept them with no query at all

A timely report about today’s hatefest in London.

I asked a simple question at a pro-Palestine protest and it turned ugly https://www.thetimes.com/article/650ab75a-5423-44a2-98db-cc5c7ffff4d9?shareToken=29148c24a9ff1abee7c8e7d639cc46be

That was a good sad and informative read and exactly the level of intelligence on display on other lefty marches the world over.
Guilty secret here, absolutely love watching the lefties losing it videos from all around the world.
Most of the words made me angry put this made me laugh.

Please continue to protest!

Yep. They really should take a closer look at how propaganda works.

@Icreatedausernameyippee i didn’t read the article initially. I was posting on the use of the word
Hatefest used against images calling for ‘stop the genocide’

but I agree now having read it that reporter wasn’t acting out of interest or in good faith. What a nasty piece of work he is. If this is all people are reading I’m not surprised views are one sided
I think most people read around subjects though and don’t believe just the one bit of crap that fits their narrative

It's a fact that governments, political parties and movements, regimes, media et al utilise propaganda, funded by state and private sources. The IRI, Qatari, Israeli and Palestinian governments are not exempt from this. It's weird that you want to keep picking a fight about this.

Edited

Picking a fight or being another useful idiot in denial.

He was asking simple questions - it’s what journalists do. It doesn’t discredit him because he shows how hate-filled and ignorant they are.

And it’s not a genocide.

He’s a nasty piece of work for asking people whether they think Hamas bears any responsibility for what is unfolding in Gaza? Man.
At this point I really do despair.

I always find it interesting that people who make outlandish claims can never support their ideology with evidence other than "Google it"

Throwing out lies is easy
lies aren’t against mumsnet rules

Im still waiting for evidence
especially the savagery at the marches
We’ll get to page 40 and nothing
blah blah same old same old

Viewsaremyown · 04/10/2025 21:39

And Ukraine. But the Home Secretary was quite right that the right to protest doesn’t mean that you always have to use that right. In the immediate wake of what happened in Manchester the protests are totally insensitive. Yes the situation is awful in Gaza, but there is a need for sensitive protest.
