My niece who has teenage daughters has just moved home to the UK. The US is barely a 1st world country any more. The levels of ignorance and deprivation are appalling.

The US far right and and Christian lobby are funding hatred and division throughout the world. I don't think he will start an actual war though. He wants to be immortal. I do feel sorry for the poor in the USA. They voted for him in desperation.

Where has she moved from? The US is a huge place with very different levels of income, etc so it would be interesting to know.

I have a friend who has fallen down the rabbit hole. She now believes it's everyone else who has had the wool pulled over their eyes, Facts don't matter to her anymore.
I completely understand that people want and need change, but to go towards the extreme right in politics often leads to solutions that are rooted in fear, exclusion, and nationalism. We're repeating the past and it's terrifying.

But tbh the people who listen to him and believe him bear some responsibility here.

I’m not talking about his minions and sidekicks, I’m talking about average members of the public.

If the paracetamol bollocks was the first thing you could be forgiven for being worried. But let’s just see what else he had to offer.

He suggested that we should inject bleach in order to cure COVID.

As part of his election debate he talked about how foreigners in Springfield were eating the cats and the dogs of the residents there.

And now this.

The man isn’t even vaguely plausible, and so anyone who believes a word of what he says is a twat as well…

All the news outlets and the health teams need to be saying is “just look at who has made the claims.” And that should be enough.
