YANBU - he’s an absolute knob. The state the USA is in right now and he’s trying to lecture the rest of the world!

YABU - he’s not a twat.

And who can forget the bleach and the flashlight up your backside - best represented by the Randy Rainbow song - it brings back memories of those times!

Of course, the bleach. I miss Janey Godley, she did a cracking impression/ voice over of Nicola Sturgeon responding to that wee gem!!

Disagree if you wish - but it would be appreciated if you would actually write something engaging rather than dismissive.

I assumed this post was in respect to Trumps latest statement regarding paracetamol in pregnancy causing autism and also referencing a drug treatment.

I’ve basically said you can’t trust the government. If you disagree then I would be interstate in why you disagree.

I was laughing at “I had paracetamol in pregnancy, now my child is autistic”.

I found it genuinely funny.

AllIsWellBecause · 23/09/2025 21:11

For some things he might be right. I am not very pro-American nor know much about them apart from the very obvious but they have variety of states, laws, people and massive varieties of cultural eco chambers, so I cannot comment on all these, so therefore do not have massive opinion on him

Are you in the US OP? Or have you visited recently? I wouldn’t believe everything the UK media is telling you.

I’m in the US and although there’s a split, plenty of sane, very educated people here really like him and think he’s doing great things for the country. Unless you’re here, I’m not sure why his existence bothers you so much?

So the OP shouldn’t believe what she saw and heard Trump saying at the UN just now? Was it AI? Or did he actually say that bullshit?

JHound · 23/09/2025 21:13

i cannot imagine a single Democrat president going around slagging off other country’s, acting like their shit doesn’t stink, coming out with unsubstantiated medical toss, constantly bigging themselves up

This. To the posters that ask “if you don’t live in the USA why so you care about him.”

If he kept his actions and comments to his borders, I wouldn’t.

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/09/2025 20:19

Sorry to be pedantic but are they not one and the same?
Either way, he’s clearly deranged.
I did wonder whether Melania had called ahead to arrange the escalator breakdown …

Biologically yes, but as insults go I reckon cunt is more severe than twat. A twat is a bit mild really, one down from a bastard. It still describes him well, possibly better than cunt because it doesn’t take him as seriously. Perhaps it’s better that way. I reckon he’d rather be a cunt than a twat, so let’s stick with twat.

I was in Canada a few months back and amazed (and pleased) about the number of shops that would not sell US stuff. No California wine, no bourbon, no Oreos. This has had a big impact on US industry and people in the US are scratching their heads wondering why. Not what they had expected!!!

This is warming to know!

I was responding to a specific point:

At least we don't have an estimated 393,000,000 guns kicking about and all that entails.. School Shootings on a weekly basis

ETA: Also still waiting for an answer to a question I asked on page one of this thread. But the OP must be busy.

itsAforapple · Today 17:13
It’s getting to the point where he might just be the biggest threat to the safety of the rest of the world, not Russia or China or anyone else

Really? How?

Edited

Aye ,you cherry picked my comment about guns but ignored the rest..how convenient.
Trump has got fuck all business poking in about UK politics his opinion is not required or wanted.
He'd do well to settle American issues of which there are many.
The pish he spouts has global impact.

StrongLikeMamma · 23/09/2025 21:25

He’s a biggly twat!
Yep the far right Christian nut jobs are pulling the strings alright.

elonmusk · 23/09/2025 21:26

Urgh I accidentally clicked YABU! Of course I meant YANBU!

EmeraldShamrock000 · 23/09/2025 21:30

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 20:12

Overlooked? Is it fuck. You don’t think that every western nation has been struggling with this for years? Is WELL aware of the issues?
yiu think no once noticed til Trump had his rant? Jesus wept.

I do know that every western nation has been struggling with this for years.
The governments are not tackling the problem.
It is the beat of the drum the everyday person wants to hear. I don't see western governments taking action, things aren't changing, people are branded far right racists when they object.
I don't agree with much of what Trump has to say, however he knows how to rally a crowd bringing attention to a problem, even if he does FA about it.

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 21:35

Ok, so what’s the solution? If you ( or Trump) has it, then there are a lot of governments who want to hear it.

To be fair I quite liked the way she just marched up the stairs without even turning round to see if he was alright!

KermitFeet · 23/09/2025 21:36

LaurelBush · 23/09/2025 20:28

Not really. If you criticise a Republican president for not changing firearm laws, you've really got to look at what Democrat presidents did about them.

Follow the money. The NRA and gun manufacturers fund republicans because republicans are pro-guns. The democrats have consistently and repeatedly tried to strengthen gun controls, but are repeatedly stymied in the Senate. Do you genuinely not know that?

AngelaRaynersHair · 23/09/2025 21:41

Burntt · 23/09/2025 20:25

He’s an utter twat.

if he were not so old I would be hugely concerned he would try to become a dictator. I think maybe he will try anyway but thank fuck he won’t live long enough to create Nazi type reign. I don’t know enough about his cabinet or American politics to know if I should be concerned the movement will continue without him.

i have a love of history. I think it’s shocking we can’t see the pattern repeating. It’s not just Nazi power that started with similar tactics and patterns the whole world should be concerned

Sadly @Burnttyou would be VERY concerned. JD Vance is champing at the bit for his turn, and believe it or not, he has even less scruples than Trump. Trump is an utter horror, narcissist egotistical, vain, ill-educated moron, but he’s been consistently so all his life. Vance is a clever shape-shifter.

Sarover · 23/09/2025 21:42

@Wonderpool

That’s interesting to hear that parts of the U.K. operate under sharia law.

Which parts exactly? Can you say where and which parts of sharia law? Also, who enforces it? Is it the local police force? Do cases go to court? Who are the judges? Which laws do they draw on when sentencing? Are there juries? And other real life questions…

Or, perhaps you are getting all riled up about a post you saw somewhere, sometime by someone (you’re not sure who) which made sense to you after a couple of wines. But not an actual, legal fact.

Which is it? You obviously feel very strongly about this real thing happening in our country. I’d love to engage with you about it. It’s incredibly important. I’d like to know the real facts behind this huge change in our constitution.

Or perhaps it was just something you read online. Or your friend told you about it. Surely not, because you only believe facts about real things that happened. Right?

TooBigForMyBoots · 23/09/2025 21:44

DdraigGoch · 23/09/2025 21:05

Trump as far as I'm aware has not started any wars

He's been busy bombing Venezuelans so anything is possible. He's also been threatening to invade both Canada and Greenland.

Give him time to get his Ministry of War off the ground.

Exactly- if he was the president of Chile or Vietnam etc I would just think ‘what a nut job’ and that would be it -as President of the USA he wields a lot of power, influence, affects trade, finances, security world wide - and sadly can’t be put on mute!

Ok, so what’s the solution? If you ( or Trump) has it, then there are a lot of governments who want to hear it.

They are paid the big bucks to sort it out, not me nor the orange man.
Instead they're spending millions every year while they think about taking any action.
Anyway I'm not getting into a debate about immigration. My point is many believe in this case he is correct.

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 21:35

Trump's seems to be "put them all in prison, including people on valid visas and people who are US citizens, and then send them to a random other country to get rid of them."

(Which coming from a man who runs a country in which a vast majority (including him) are descended from immigrants, often as recent as grandfathers or mothers (like him) is amazingly hypocritical and horrible.)

And I Think You'll Find It's a Bit More Complicated Than That, EmeraldShamrock000.

DdraigGoch · 23/09/2025 21:58

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 20:55

@DdraigGoch sadly I do think he won in this instance

He somehow managed to win all seven swing states by just enough to avoid a recount? Significant discrepancies between the presidential vote and down-ballot results? Pro V&V's "de minimis" machine update? Something fishy was going on. Trump and Musk haven't exactly kept quiet about it either, they've dropped a lot of hints.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 23/09/2025 22:06

And I Think You'll Find It's a Bit More Complicated Than That, EmeraldShamrock000.
I've no doubt about that.
I was just making the point that some people are happy with his statement.
A problem shared is a problem halved, which doesn't solve anything but acknowledging there is issues fuels popularity and the rise of right side political parties.
