YANBU - he’s an absolute knob. The state the USA is in right now and he’s trying to lecture the rest of the world!

YABU - he’s not a twat.

14% now...still too high
But Nigel might have his bots on here

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 19:19

Or the Russians?

I have also returned from the US, frequent traveller there for work, have been for 20 years, and the levels of poverty and drug addiction there at the moment are absolutely awful. People lying barely conscious on the streets,
zombified on Tranq… it’s never been this bad in all the years I’ve been there.

Terrible but that's not a trump thing either. The opioid crisis wasn't under his watch. RFK is trying to sort the pharma industry out, it won't work though too much money involved. Very sad state of affairs.

Echobelly · 23/09/2025 19:15

He's just so embarrassing - all the incoherent stuff he came out with yesterday with the nonsense about Tylenol and autism.

And telling the UN that 'you're countries are going to hell and I'm really good at this stuff' re immigration.

But at this rate we're heading for something just as embarrassing - even if Reform don't win the next elections, we'll have a tonne more Reform MPs and a lot of those are going to be people whose sole news source is X. Literally people who will believe that kids are getting weekly transgender lessons or something and that Muslim shopkeepers are refusing to sell poppies, or whatever rage slop Elon Musk is pushing that week.

All these people seem to have all the wrong answers to all the wrong problems.

Yep!

Or the Russians?

Same thing....

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 19:23

I’ve been to US many many times for work and leisure and away from the sanitised well off areas I honestly think it’s incredibly backward , mysoginistic and eye poppingly grim- I’m not saying the UK isn’t grim in some areas too, but talk about pot calling kettle black - Michael Moore wrote a great book years ago about the sheer 3rd world poverty in vast parts of the states, pilots on food stamps, 82 year old guys bent double manning car parks or gas stations , living in cars and he wasn’t much wrong

BeardofHagrid · 23/09/2025 19:23

Why didn’t you apply this much scrutiny to Joe Biden?

sleepwouldbenice · 23/09/2025 19:25

cobrakaieaglefang · 23/09/2025 18:31

My colleague has been elated today. He thinks the orange chump is the best thing ever. Showed me a video saying that the American govt have admitted to mass geoengineering and chemtrails. On GB news apparently. The paracetamol thing was another 'gotcha' moment on top of vaccines being the cause of everything from autism to every cancer going. He's vehemently anti Muslim, so the sharia law stuff also featured. Today has been wearing!

This is really shocking
You don't want to believe it happens but.....

To be fair, I’d say at least three in ten people are usually twats.

BeardofHagrid · 23/09/2025 19:23

Why didn’t you apply this much scrutiny to Joe Biden?

Oh yeah, because Joe Biden really didn’t have any people criticising him, though? If you’d like to go ahead and list the things you could criticise, we could compare him to Trump if you like.

How do you think it’s going to go when vaccine rates drop?

TooBigForMyBoots · 23/09/2025 19:28

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 17:13

It’s getting to the point where he might just be the biggest threat to the safety of the rest of the world, not Russia or China or anyone else

Putin owns Trump and Trump is destroying America. Something Russia couldn't do by itself.

Im not too worried about Reform, Trump will make the RW unelectable in western democracies for at least a generation.

itsAforapple · 23/09/2025 19:30

BeardofHagrid · 23/09/2025 19:23

Why didn’t you apply this much scrutiny to Joe Biden?

Who’s that aimed at?
I don’t remember Biden getting up at the UN to declare climate change a ‘con’, refute the use of green energy, lecture other countries, make shit up about people he didn’t like ( Sadiq Khan for example), boast about his own ( entire made up achievements) and generally behave like an absolute arse. If he had, I’d be right here calling him a twat too… if he did, then my apologies for not paying more attention.

I’m amazed by all the posters who say how much safer they feel in the US compared to the UK. Really?! Gun crime and mass shootings mean that it is objectively much less safe than the UK. Living in the UK I am very happy to be safe in the knowledge that it’s vanishingly unlikely that my children will be shot to death at school, say.

Totally 💯. I've been all over the USA. Pick any Smallville type town any state , I guarantee it'll be more dangerous than London. The stats prove it. Sadiq Khan isn't running around the rural US murdering school kids.

I recently visited the poor benighted UK. Berkshire, Oxford etc. Went for a few jars. Didn't have to check with the local sharia court. DT has full blown psychosis.

Notagain75 · 23/09/2025 19:32

He is also very dangerous.
I think he is more of a threat to the World than China or Russia because he shoots his mouth off without thinking or probably even understanding what the implications of what he is saying

Themagicfarawaytreeismyfav · 23/09/2025 18:46

What absolute rubbish i travel there every week for work! Nothing has changed at all! In fact i feel safer walking round New York using my phone for directions than i do in London.

New York? Are you sure? As in New York City?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 23/09/2025 19:33

Frankly, Trump is giving all other absolute twats a bad name.

He opens his mouth and utter verbal diarrhoea pours out. I just hope we don’t end up with Farage (Trump-lite) here.

giveitback · 23/09/2025 19:34

Are you in the US OP? Or have you visited recently? I wouldn’t believe everything the UK media is telling you.

I’m in the US and although there’s a split, plenty of sane, very educated people here really like him and think he’s doing great things for the country. Unless you’re here, I’m not sure why his existence bothers you so much?

TheExcitersblowingupmymind · 23/09/2025 19:34

Hereforthecommentz · 23/09/2025 19:16

The guns and the school shootings aren't a trump thing, that's been the case for donkeys years. Yes in other respects he's a knob. I would say though hes definitely not the worst president, Bush Jr took the US into Iraq war under false pretence and messed up the middle East. Trump as far as I'm aware has not started any wars so it's a bit insane to say he's the worst president and I'm not a fan.

The point I was making was America is awash with problems his outpourings about the UK aren't required or wanted.
He wasn't saying a thing when he was over as King Charles guest.
As it stands if rather live in the UK than the dystopian nightmare unfolding in America.
America has the make belief deity in the sky on their side and Trump.
What a combination.🤯

Crikeyalmighty · 23/09/2025 19:34

@Wonderpool personally if we didn’t need the US and have to cow tow to a fairly large extent, especially post Brexit -I would love Starmer and all the European leaders to actually say what they really think about the US and Trump - anyone would think it’s paradise.

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 23/09/2025 19:35

LaurelBush · 23/09/2025 17:53

You can''t blame the guns on Trump. I don't recall any Democrat presidents getting rid of them either?

President Clinton's passing of the 1994 Federal Assault Weapons Ban (AWB)? It was not renewed after ten years as was intended because at that point George W Bush was president and reducing the number of military-grade (anti-human and useless for other purposes) guns in the hands of nutters didn't suit him, and it didn't get rid of all guns, but it definitely reduced that particular threat. Mass shootings went down during the ten years it was in force.

MrsSkylerWhite · 23/09/2025 19:35

You are correct.

WTF is he on?

I used to work with an otherwise intelligent and lovely individual who told me with a completely straight face that it was a proven scientific fact that vaccines gave you the disease it was meant to prevent. She completely believed it. I tried at first to talk to her about this but was so convinced that it's true that there was no dissuading her.

I've also met a lot of intelligent well educated professionals who happen to be Americans. And many have said they don't understand the US electoral system and so don't vote. That's why people like Trump can get elected because others are happy to believe what they hear on their local bigoted radio station and line up like lambs to be slaughtered. And then wonder why things are all wonderful anymore.

Anymore? They're all shit. That's why politics is so utterly depressing. I'm 51, and I can't think of a single government that was effective at any point in my life. We're in a relatively new era now too, whereupon people vote against rather than for (which is how we ended up with Starmer).

Trump's ramblings are bizarre, given that there are plenty of actual facts he could've referenced that illustrate the mess Europe and the UK is in.

I have just come back from - LA, San Fran, San Diego. And a few weeks before that - Boston, NYC, NJ, Philly, Pittsburg, DC.
staying in ‘naice’ hotels but all central/downtown in those cities. DC, fine as always, but the others? People
are
struggling. Really struggling.

I’ve just left the US. California. And I can tell you that 80% of the people around me thought he was a massive dick.

I’ve noticed that rhetoric in the UK about ‘you can’t believe what you read in the UK media about Trump, all Americans are happy with him… It’s repetitive and definitely seems to come from the people who are doing ‘their own research’ and I can guess pretty much 99% of the rest of the canned bollocks they’re coming out with.

You don’t need to believe what you read in the UK media, you can just listen to the shit that comes out of his mouth to get everything you need to know.

And you need to be extremely naïve to not think that what he’s doing doesn’t impact the whole world.
