’Kirk’s killer has apparently been turned in by his family - or persuaded to hand himself in.
Trump &’his supporters have been very vocal about getting the death penalty for the shooter.
would YOU hand your child over, knowing that the electric chair would be the likely outcome?

YANBU - I wouldn’t turn him in to die.
YABU - I would he’s a killer and deserves all he gets

i do not think it’s as simple as the family had a straight forward choice

he was the most wanted man in the us everyone was looking for him and they are faced with the question will he be safer in custody or others getting hold of him

as for Charlie Kirk’s wife she is in shock, she has young children to think of while she may want her husband’s legacy to continue I think she is being manipulated by those around her the same as other high profile politicians wives who’s husbands have been murdered, the public have an expectation of what they should do and the pressure will be immense

I can’t criticise her what ever she does she will face criticism and really what she needs is support for herself and her children

As more come out about the family it seems like they were Republican, traditionalist, churchgoing, gun toting etc so perhaps more inclined for turn the kid over to the authorities anyways.

Oh! My! Life! So a grieving widow is now being criticised and vilified because she is not grieving 'right'.

The hate on display for a murdered Christian man and his grieving Christian wife is beyond words. But then, his Lord and Saviour, Christ Jesus was also hated and killed for standing for Truth, so there is nothing new here, I guess.

I wouldn’t be surprised if longer term she runs for a mainstream position such as a senator. Or goes to work for trump /vance

@Tontostitis Why is family background being pointed out by a poster a huge problem? What attitude? I thought the same. Their DS would have been strung up by the mob and the parent went with a preacher to hand DS over. Not sure they had much choice.

both sides have good empathetic people and both sides have people who are not

and most sit in the middle and again people of the same traits sit there

social media allows this lack of empathy l, the anger and hatred to be stirred to higher levels than ever before and creates division and it’s so damaging to humanity
