Mumsnet has been deleting any comment at all that criticises Charlie Kirk... just because he has died does not mean he is infallible. He is still an evil person who did and said evil things, contributed to so much suffering of families at the hands of ICE etc., mocked the Palestinians undergoing a genocide? Mumsnet, disturbing much? I had to get MN by email to delete a thread of mine as I was getting bullied and people were making personal attacks against me (the talk guidelines say personal attacks will be deleted, yet I had to BEG for this), but they are censoring anything anyone says about Charlie Kirk? Why are we not allowed to have freedom of speech and freedom to debate, especially when it is someone who did and said SO MUCH EVIL!

The wording used was lacking in sensitivity to the case. You clearly didn't read the deletion message.

Said if his daughter was raped, he would force her to continue the pregnancy rather than abortion. Things like that.

Actual stuff Charlie Kirk has done (not just the wild stuff he says, although I could write an essay on that):

• he literally helped organise buses to the Jan 6 rally in DC and was a big part of “Stop the Steal” stuff after 2020
• he’s run huge campaigns to get students to protest or disrupt things like COVID safety rules, DEI programs, etc.
• he’s pushed TPUSA into schools with these “chapters” that pressure young ppl into hardline politics
• he’s used his platform to spread misinformation (like fake voter fraud numbers, misleading COVID stats, etc) which actually influenced real ppl’s choices/votes
• he built Turning Point USA into a massive org that spends millions pushing far-right politics on campuses, and his own salary shot way up as the money flowed in
• TPUSA has been called out for shady finances + misleading claims about what they do with donations

Wrong and misuse of the word ‘Evil’. He certainly was not that.

I’ve just been suspended from Reddit for saying I wouldn’t vote for a political party that thought men could become women. No free speech over there.

You say that Charlie Kirk was evil, maybe you should have a little bit of introspection at what you deem appropriate OP because justfiying the death of a man because you don't agree with his perspective is pretty horrific

Critical or robust debate about his politics and legacy is ok, and we’re not removing posts simply because they are critical of his views. However we have removed posts that celebrate violence or mock his death - it’s possible to condemn views or actions without crossing into personal cruelty.

I won’t celebrate his death but also won’t mourn it. He was a bigot, racist (who argued that not only was the Civil Rights act a mistake but that black Americans were better off before 1940- he was generally intensely anti-black),he advanced the great replacement theory, accused intensely qualified black women of having the “brain power” to acquire their jobs fairly, said if his 10 year old daughter was impregnated via rape he would make her have the baby and said lock down restrictions were comparable to South Africa under Apartheid. He was a misogynist and intensely patriarchal.

He also said gun deaths were an acceptable price to pay for the 2nd Amendment.

The outpouring of mourning for what was basically a Son of Jacob podcast bro is odd
when contrasted with the near silence after the murder of two Democrat politicians earlier this year by a deranged MAGAt.

You might think something is evil; that’s your opinion. You are not the authority on what is evil or not for anyone else.

No. He showed no kindness and respect to babies being massacred in Gaza. He fought to make the lives of gay people and immigrants in America a living hell, and LITERALLY put his money where his mouth is. He fought for people to be able to own guns, said himself gun deaths are normal and a part of life and said empathy is weakensss. If anything he thinks his own death is a normal casual consequence of guns!
