Fucking flags

xmaspud3 · 09/09/2025 15:01

I know this has probably been done to death on here and there will be lots of threads about it already but I cant be bothered to trawl through the site for them so here I am.

I’m so irritated by the England flags popping up everywhere. There has been an influx put up in my area over the last week, it seems to be increasing by the day. I don’t hate the flag, but I hate the fact it is being used to send a clear message by racists. People aren’t doing it to be patriotic they are doing it to be hateful towards those that they don’t feel ‘belong’ in their country.

I don’t want to see all of these flags in my area. If people are entitled to put them up then why am I not entitled to go and cut the fuckers down? And don’t get me started on the spray painting of public roundabouts and road signage by people who allegedly love their country so much that they are vandalising it at the expense of public money.

If I see one more person give a ‘big well done to whoever has erected the flags on xyz street’ on Facebook I will explode. Does anyone else feel ragey over it?

You do know that because Faragge fucked up Brexit and the returns agreement that Immigration has been higher than ever? If not have a look into it, Farrages wife is also an immigrant and he has two passports they guys is an absolute hypocrite the highest standards and also read into Reforms policies properly they hate the disabled the country will be screwed and fucked up even more than he did Brexit

But that is my point exactly, the failure of government time and again to resolve the immigration problems, specifically cross channel illegal immigration has given the likes of Reform a platform - sort the immigration and Reform et al are punctured with no more to offer.

So I blame governments over a period of decades for letting us get here.

HalzTangz · 09/09/2025 19:48

I agree, if it was patriotic then flags would be up day in day out for years and years.
This is very much a racist stance being covered with the 'oh you are a lefty you don't underatand' crap

wldpwr · 09/09/2025 19:49

The classist comments on here are really unfortunate.

I think everyone agrees it is cheering to see the flag, for example during sporting events?

However, it can't be denied that these flags are going up in response to a particular situation and for a particular purpose, so they are not politically neutral and are in fact making a statement that some people in the country are more welcome than others.

Irony overload.

👏 👏

@Petitchat
They're likely rolling in their graves that it has been coopted for the very hate they fought against.

rockstarshoes · 09/09/2025 19:50

I agree 💯! They look a bloody mess! And don’t get me started on the badly paint sprayed ones!

it’s vandalism pure & simple!

SleeplessInWherever · 09/09/2025 19:50

SammyScrounge · 09/09/2025 19:48

No, it is to remind the government that we-the British- are here. And that maybe they should refrain from telling us that asylum seekers' rights trump ours.

Eh? You think the government need a reminder that we’re here?

EasternStandard · 09/09/2025 19:50

VanillaImpulse · 09/09/2025 19:30

Well that’s not true as the left do nothing but insult anyone with an opposing view to their own and just call them names and uneducated

As seen on here

VanillaImpulse · 09/09/2025 19:27

Not a bad paint job to be fair

I think it’s ribbons, and pegs apparently.

BlueLimes · 09/09/2025 19:52

There’s not much evidence to critical thinking when the response to people saying they feel intimidated is ‘get therapy’.

And MY grandfather and great uncle would be in absolute disbelief that people are being called nazis and fascists for erecting British flags.

My grandfather was only 16 in the 1st world war and was a flag bearer.
So young, the French called him petit garcon. Carring the BRITISH FLAG with pride.

Shame on you all who want it hidden.

You are being deliberately obtuse. They’re not being called Nazis for flying the flag. They’re being called Nazis because they’ve chosen a random demographic (in this case asylum seekers - which has seemingly grown to anyone who isn’t white British - Aryan race much?) to blame for their shit lives. They want them all rounding up and deporting. They’re spreading propaganda and waging a hate campaign against them. We’ve seen this before. They are literally Nazis.

The flag is being used to show support for this hate campaign. The swastika was not a symbol of hate before the Nazis hijacked it. Just like the St George flag wasn’t before the NF took it and ran with it. But everyone knew what it meant once Hitler stole it, just like we know what our flag means now.

Definitely not ashamed of disliking public displays of blatant racism and intimidation.

Trans debate is something entirely different.

I think you need to look up the definition of the word ‘racism’ OP.

NetballHoop · 09/09/2025 19:55

Quite apart from the politics behind them, at least around here, they all look as if they've been raised at half mast.

We look like a country in mourning.

Petitchat · 09/09/2025 19:56

SleeplessInWherever · 09/09/2025 19:44

We’re not at war, so I’m not sure we currently need flagbearers. This isn’t a battleground.

Well it feels like it to me, when my own countrymen don't want the English flag flying.

Donttellempike · 09/09/2025 19:57

Petitchat · 09/09/2025 19:33

And if the Swiss started using theirs as a "particular political comment"?

Would the Swiss public call them racists?
No.

Only in England....

Evidence?

Petitchat · 09/09/2025 19:56

They don't want it flying when the intent is to exclude.

As my Nan used to say (RIP): “I didn’t live through The Blitz to see a bunch of racists roaming the streets”.

And would she have meant the British flag haters?

Calling someone a fucking moron because you disagree with them really is not evidence of erudition 😂

You feel like we’re at war?

With who? Fighting for what?

There a real wars going on, right now, that are a little bit more devastating than a flag. I’m not saying you’re not entitled to have issues with whatever you have issues with, but it is very far from the same as war.

derxa · 09/09/2025 20:02

I live in two very naice areas One in Scotland and one in England. Not a sniff of a flag in either place. Maybe it should be an estate agent selling point. 🤣

Read the thread and all the other threads on this subject NOBODY HATES THE FLAG ITSELF it is the motives of Yaxley-Lennon and his mates who have been promoting this.
