I didn’t get stripper from the lyrics, I definitely get finding yourself in a gay bar and dancing with joyful abandon vibes. Also I think she does sound like Kate bush, especially the first sound I heard, good luck babe

I think it combines the risqué element of a strip club and finding your tribe element of a gay bar. Both lines are in the song; dancing in heels on stage and boys and girls being queens.I think she's amalgamated both worlds, it would be a fairly dull song if she was just telling her mum she was going to a pub with some gay mates.
She'd hardly be wailing "what have you done?" And likewise it would just be tacky rather than spicy if it was about stripping.

Jeez is that an expression that you think is ok to use on anyone. A punchable person 😱

I went to a friends party recently and they had a live band, they were great. But, when the band finished they brought a Karaoke machine out. There was a group of little girls singing it. I thought that was awful. To them it’s just a song they like, they don’t know what it’s actually about. It made me very sad.
