Do Teddies have kids who struggle academically?

Hello All,

Just seeing if any current parents can tell me if the vast majority of kids at Teddies thrive academically. I have heard this from current parents and students.

Ah but that wouldn’t count as koala’s aren’t teddies

How dare you. Reported.

I can’t bear that kind of grizzly attitude.

MrsKypp · 03/07/2025 20:22

Foreign language provision is outstanding and even includes Japanese.

Surely the OP is doing a pretentious name drop here ? I'd never even heard of this simply spiffing college/school or whatever it is, let alone the abbreviated 'in the know 😉' nickname ....

I expect op also says "gap yaaaaar"

Wait. Is Today the Day?

The teddy bears have their picnic! Yes!

Yep and then still working at the same job which is nothing to do with their degree.

Network = better jobs / more money.

Even for Teddies..

Somebody sounds like a tired little teddy bear. Time you went home to bed.

My teddy has never had a job.

He just sits about.

With his friend.

I do think that is an incredibly sinister song, though.

The ice cream van that comes around our estate plays it and it terrifies me! Such a creepy tune

Shetlands · 03/07/2025 20:40

Calm down with your #FreePinkPauline protests! She's as common as muck and likes being in the cupboard with half a regiment of old soldiers. If we let her out she'll be straight on the Gin, singing Eskimo Nell and end up knickerless behind the drinks cabinet with Noddy and Big Ears. I am NOT going through all that again!

MrsKypp · 03/07/2025 20:53

I was going to send all our teddies to Teddies for £12,725 a term each as day pupils. Between my children there are probably around 15 soft toys, and it would be unacceptable to discriminate and only send teddies private and not the rabbit, leopard et al, so £190,875 a term, £572,625 a year. Very reasonable.

However, with the VAT it's just too expensive. We will be forced to look elsewhere now.

MagdaLenor · 03/07/2025 21:02

@MrsKypp I hear you! That VAT charge is just outrageous, isn't it? Imagine imposing a tax on the wealthy. Just because you have a lot of teddies. Is like being in the Soviet Union.

She's just misunderstood. She fully understands that she's been found in compromising positions (among others), but she's changed now. She's ready for freedom and all that brings.

Literally thought this meant the teddy boys of the 1950s 🤣🤣

I mean, what else COULD it mean?

My neighbour’s little girl once told me that her teddy did the tannoy announcements in the big Sainsbury’s & got paid in Haribo’s.

I expect they’re growling about it quite a lot.

Londonrach1 · 03/07/2025 21:11

Please think of the bunnies... please think of the bunnies...it shouldn't just be about teddies...jellycat bunnies are also very cuddly

My son’s Monkey has the lemur equivalent of a PhD, but hasn’t been washed in 13 years.

What about his bedsheets? How often are they washed?

OverheardInAWhisper · 03/07/2025 21:17

lifeonmars100 · 03/07/2025 19:37

Yes!! very creepy, the tone of voice, the music and the lyrics are like something from a horror film, off to Google it now...

Played around here by the ‘ice team van’ reputed to sell drugs, given that it does a roaring trade after dark in winter.

BENEATH THE TREES WHERE NOBODY SEES…

Weekly, I assure you. The 13 year old himself has reached the obsessive teenage hygiene stage, too. He just loves his festering Monkey.

Oh dear lord why do private school parents think that everyone knows and cares about their school!? Seriously - they all end up at the same universities!

Because it’s not only about the academics. It’s about an entire schooling experience that could make or break you.

Localres · 03/07/2025 21:24

My Teddy was doing brilliantly academically until he hit the mid teen years. We tried everything but once he discovered the hard stuff, there was no going back.

never believe them when they tell you honey isn’t addictive.

IGuessIllbetheFirst · 03/07/2025 21:30

My ted lives by the quote “There’s no problem too big that a little honey can’t solve” - maybe that’s where it all started to go wrong?
