Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

It lost the original spirit and purpose a long time ago. Making some bands or solo artists pay to attend in all but name, and then tickets not allocated by ballot or some other reasonable way.

I doubt having someone who allegedly says that Nigel Farage should be given a chance would have been considered for the event even ten years ago.

Yes Rod Stewart is not going to be popular for saying that!

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2025 17:19

John fogerty is rocking out at 80 and he is very good!

Just switched on to watch Kneecap but seems the BBC will not be showing them . What an absolute shower of craven fuckers the BBC are.

Apparently it will be on iPlayer later, but some absolute legend called Helen live streamed the whole thing on TikTok. Fair play Helen! It looked really good; I can’t wait to see it properly. (Her name is Helenshealingjourney; not sure if Lives get saved somewhere on people’s profiles?)

Also loved Bob Vylan, Weezer, CMAT and watching Amyl and the Sniffers as we speak. Great energy!

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 28/06/2025 17:26

What a lot of moaners!

marmaladeandpeanutbutter · 28/06/2025 17:27

(Excluding you, @TiredArtTeacher!)

Jo Whiley's leather shorts and a Cure Tshirt was a fantastic look.

She is 60 next week! Looks amazing

It’s lovely to see all the support for Palestine there this year

It is, isn't it. 🇵🇸🇵🇸

BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 28/06/2025 17:29

diamond it's a fallow year next year I think. So you've got two years to save up and plan.

I don't think glastonbury has got less cool over the years. Van Morrison was in the legends slot when I went in 97 for heavens sake. I think it's safer now, it was horrible back then.

Why on earth is she a legend if it's on later. I'll tell you what it'll involve loads of thickos waving flags and mo chara saying 'there's a genocide innit and at least in the troubles the ira didn't bomb us from the skies' or some such.

I couldn’t think of anything worse than being surrounded by cringey middle class dullards wetting their knickers because they’re at ‘Glasto’, and gassing up mediocre shite as ‘awsome’ and ‘ace’. Boak.

What a charming turn of phrase you have.

I did enjoy seeing Peter Capaldi owning the stage with Franz Ferdinand

He's ace. I really wanted him to perform in character as Malcom Tucker though.

I’m enjoying Weezer at the moment, they sound pretty good

Yeah they were great! Last at Glastonbury in 1995 apparently! I feel ancient as it feels like just a few years ago they were in the charts!

SweetcornFritter · 28/06/2025 17:33

DiamondThrone · 28/06/2025 16:31

I am planning to go next year. I will totally be that person 😄

(Except for the mediocre shit bit)

You’ll be standing in the field on your own then (apart from a few sheep maybe). It’s not on next year.

ChillWith · 28/06/2025 17:33

My partner (49) has taken over the TV and glued to it so far. Pretty sad given the nice weather and that he can watch any sets on catch up

It’s clearly going to be on later after being heavily edited. It was good to see (well, mostly hear) the unedited version.

The gas thing is Bob Vylan said waaaaay more controversial stuff than Kneecap did and that was all on iPlayer live!

Needmorelego · 28/06/2025 14:15

@NeartoNewquay According to BBC News they have decided they will broadcast Neil Young after all.

ooh, pleased to read that, hope he is good

Pedallleur · 28/06/2025 17:35

Bah! Not like it was in my day 95/00/06 whatever! I just watch some and turn it off if not to my liking. Alanis drives me nuts with her constant pacing but she and her band just rocked. I like seeing some of these artists on TV as I get an idea if they are any good. People huffing about music! Not been the same since the Beatles split!

Well if heavily edited means editing out 'accidentally' picked up terrorist flags on inciting hate and violence that is a good thing. Lovely trio of love and harmony.

GanninHyem · 28/06/2025 15:26

Bob Vylan is excellent. Suspect MN is absolutely not his crowd though.

I thought they were stunning, they would give the average MN poster a minor coronary tho!

ruffler45 · 28/06/2025 17:39

Every year I look at the list of performers and every year I think "never heard of them" for 99.99% of the perfomers.

Should not Glasto be more inclusive for the more mature of us.

Not that I ever watch it but how long can it last in its current format ..

There won't be a Glastonbury next year. It's a fallow year to allow the ground to recover

i wish this would happen for Christmas
