Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

I've just watched the 1975....why were people giving out so much shit about them? Was it because it just wasn't their bag? Thought it was a great set, sound could have been better on the telly but am sure it was great there, crowd loving it and Matty looked the most sober I think I've ever seen him although he was still drinking.

I think it's because The Matt Healy comes across as a right pretentious wanker tbh. Hard to like their music when the front man is so far up his own backside.

I thought they were great and he was on Guinness zero so not drunk despite what people were saying

Honest to God, for some of the acts I've heard better karaoke in the local.

Wolf Alice is on now for an example.

Beetlebumz · 29/06/2025 21:45

Yabu I am 40s thought it was great!! Enjoyed Gary Newman, Charlie xcx, weezer, even rod!

tigger1001 · 29/06/2025 21:57

The headline acts aren't my cup of tea so not watched them. But have watched quite a few sets on the iPlayer over the weekend and have really enjoyed most of them.

Edited

I don't find him objectionable, I mean you need something to make you different I guess that was what he chose. Now his mother on the other hand....🙉

This year has been better than last year

Jo Whiley has said it's poignant

Progidy are still fab, they still miss Keith Flint so much too

Pinktruffle · 29/06/2025 22:21

The Prodigy have been my favourite act so far, so much energy. I can't believe Maxim is almost 60 years old, look at him go.
I thought their little tribute to Keith during Firestarter was pretty poignant.

TragicMuse · 29/06/2025 22:22

Prodigy are absolutely killing it and I wasn’t ever a fan! Incredible and fantastic.

Ah, Glastonbury, the once great music festival now reduced to a sprawling swamp of political soapboxing and desperate self branding. What was once a celebration of sound and soul has morphed into an overpriced influencer farm, where sad people cosplay as activists between £12 smoothie breaks and TikTok reels of their recycled “vintage” outfits.
Forget the music, that’s just background noise to the real performance - moral grandstanding on stage and performative wokeness in the crowd. Every headliner now comes with a lecture, every stage a platform for world-saving platitudes from people who arrived by helicopter.
And the crowd? An Instagram feed of bucket hats, glitter, and fake spirituality. Everyone’s too busy trying to look effortlessly countercultural to notice the irony of paying hundreds to pretend they’re sticking it to the establishment.
Glastonbury used to be about escape. Now it’s all about image. Less rave, more rants. Less music, more manifestos. If you’re looking for joy, soul, or spontaneity — you might want to check literally anywhere else.

I hope you're a writer because this is exquisite

Thegreyhound · 29/06/2025 22:32

Olivia Rodrigo is great.

Sweetpea59 · 29/06/2025 22:34

Prodigy have just been about the music, no lectures or political rants 😍 They deserve to headline the Pyramid stage with their show tonight!
If you're a "celeb" you have to go & be seen. Daily Mail has been all about Holly Willoughby "leading the stars at Glatonbury". One phrase that annoys me is "leading the stars" ugghh!

Elektra1 · 29/06/2025 22:38

I went for the first time this year (I’m nearly 50) and it was awesome. Never mind the big names, the smaller acts and the dance areas are incredible. An atmosphere you just can’t imagine from watching what’s televised.

Ontobetterthings · 29/06/2025 22:39

OK just when I thought it was all shite the Prodigy have come on and smashed it! Im a huge fan... Amazing.

Thought Jorja Smith was excellent

Hiiiti · 29/06/2025 22:59

Did anyone catch the Maccabees? Absolutely brilliant and Florence Welch joined them and they played Dog days are over. They are a great band.

Prodigy are just a great live band. I’ve seen them a couple of times.

Friday was shite but it has been better since then.

He was saying death to the IDF because they are Jewish, that is inciting hate and violence. Notice how he didn’t say death to hamas.

He's an attention seeking wanker I hope he gets arrested although that's probably what he wants to be some kind of Glasto martyr. All the flag wavers would love it.

He wasn’t though Gloria. It wasn’t because they are Jewish - it’s because they have killed babies and children and there’s video evidence of it. Watch this from Bob, it’s far more representative of who he is

Isn't military service compulsory in Israel? Everyone has to.

In which case that's calling for the death of everyone from a specific race surely?. Absolutely a hate crime.

No. It’s calling for the dismantling of an evil army to save those youngsters from compulsory military service. Perspective is everything

Tangfastic71 · 29/06/2025 23:19

HooSaidThat · 29/06/2025 11:25

The guy said the stuff about the IDF because he wanted the publicity by appearing edgy, he probably doesn't know a thing about it, like most of the audience who proudly support Hamas, but don't know about Hamas' history with music festivals.

Supporting innocent Palestinians is not the same as supporting Hamas. The same as supporting the Jewish faith is not the same as supporting zionists

They weren't shouting "dismantle the IDF" though.
