Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

Omg Gary Numan is spectacular

TitsInAbsentia · 28/06/2025 19:35

Isn't he! I just turned over on the offchance as I am waiting for my dinner to cook so didn't want to start another programme, so glad I caught the Numan!

terracelane23 · 28/06/2025 19:38

Really enjoyed watching Pulp.

Snackpocket · 28/06/2025 19:13

Have only watched a few bits so far but enjoyed Supergrass and Biffy Clyro. Pulp are absolutely smashing it! Going to watch Shed Seven and Alanis Morrisette to carry on the 90’s theme!

Shed 7 are phenomenal live...I actually think way better than they were in the 90s, hoping i can find their set on iplayer or some such.

We need a reform festival, with no foreign food, no foreign music and British values such as proper queuing for warm beer, an insurance based system for medical care, wife beating bulldog tattooed pink racists area, the blame foriners for everything stage,
the Nigel sings the Brexit blues and how it would have made us all millionaires if he had dun Brexit and Antiwoke songs and proper men and women’s toilets where they inspect your genitals to apportion gender.

What a lazy pile on of sweeping generalisations and barely disguised racism. Mocking “British values” by inventing a caricature of pink skinned, wife-beaters doesn’t make you edgy; it just exposes your own prejudice.
You claim to oppose bigotry, yet here you are pushing crude stereotypes about class and culture. That’s not clever. It’s just bigotry dressed in moral smugness.
If we want real change, start by debating ideas—not dehumanising people you don’t agree with.

Theyreeatingthedogs · 28/06/2025 19:38

Neil Young tonight. A real legend.

Barnbrack · 28/06/2025 19:42

I think you're just getting old.

Standing in a burning hot field with a bunch of unwashed bigots... not for me, thanks.

I think even after three days in this heat even they would have to concede their shit actually really does stink...

Just me loving Ezra Collective?

Such energy!

I think the last line of Birdsinginginthetrees post of 19:38 would be an apt response to this nastiness.

They are just people having fun at a festival. Why the hate?

TitsInAbsentia · 28/06/2025 20:02

@PandoraSocks it was more a reference to how hideous the long drop toilets are in this heat than hate...have you been?

ColadhSamh · 28/06/2025 20:06

Gloriia · 28/06/2025 16:13

Exactly.

Plus surely they'll have to censor incase they 'accidently' pick up a terrorist flag and shout 'kill yer MP'. Mind one's on bail so he'll have to keep his nose clean, they've maybe been silenced.

Oh no they haven't been silenced. Livestreamed all over social media and they didn't hold back. I've responded to you previously saying never underestimate westies. Surprised, given your previous interest in them you missed all the streams.
Did the BBC learn nothing from trying to impose censorship in the past. Did you all miss Bob Vylan's performance? If Kneecap upset, then this will really wreck heads. Will be interesting to see the outraged and establishment reaction. Kemi and Keir amongst others finding a common cause.

Ah, so you don't think they are bigots, then. Good.

I had a free ticket one year as my then DH was playing. I looked at the weather forecast and stayed home. I have a really strong aversion to mud. DH and his band came home straight after their set it was so bad.

Comedycook · 28/06/2025 20:08

Absolutely disgusted to see some guy called Bob Vylan...never heard of him by the way...chant death to the idf. I mean wtf. Sickening.

Saffy255 · 28/06/2025 20:09

I'm still waiting for Pulp's set to appear on iPlayer, they finished an hour ago...

I need a Jarvis Cocker fix!!

MintTwirl · 28/06/2025 20:11

This evening has been better so far. Pulp were amazing and Raye, her voice is just fantastic.

LancashireButterPie · 28/06/2025 20:11

If we ever need a new national anthem, I'd vote for "Common people", bloody love pulp.
DC go to download every year, they love it. Lots of new fresh bands.

MaryGreenhill · 28/06/2025 20:13

Pulp were great, JC is so funny .
Listening to RAYE now she is just amazing what a voice ❤️

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2025 20:15

Blossoms were good. They are very accomplished musicians

I think it’s already on there. I’ve seen them 4/5 times indoors and they have been brilliant.

binkie163 · 28/06/2025 20:22

Love Jarvis but lackluster performance, probably the heat. Just kicked off with babies, first bit of energy from him and crowd.

IDontHateRainbows · 28/06/2025 20:23

There's loads of better festivals these days. Check out Shambala!

Coolasfeck · 28/06/2025 20:23

I never really get the criticism for Glastonbury as there are hundreds of acts, so something for everyone, and only a subset are shown on BBC.

That said, the 1975 are overrated rubbish in my humble opinion.

Personally I’d prefer to go to a smaller day festival. It just seems too big for me.
