Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

I saw The Cure play at Glastonbury - in 1990! 😱

I was there too. For @RampantIvy@RitaAndFrankand @abnerbrownsdressinggownit was bloody brilliant. Although the crush was so bad that some poor girl was airlifted out. And the only reason I survived the front row was that there was a lovely posh boy from Bath with his arms locked on the barricade either side of me. Bless him.

<sigh> those were the days.

Pulp 💕

Good. But not as good as the O2 a couple of weeks ago.

Adult DC are finding it hilarious that I'm bouncing my way through their set.

It was lovely to see Louis Capaldi back. But I’m not fussed about much else that’s been on.

But then I loved it when I went in my teens and early 20s but never fancied going as a proper adult.

Yes it was. My heart went out to him when he had that breakdown on stage. But he’s back now and as good as ever. I’m glad he’s over his demons and he’s feeling mentally much better.
I love his new song.

WillowTit · 28/06/2025 18:49

i like flicking the channels but dd is home and we watched 1975 last night, i had never heard their music, i tried to stay interested

Words · 28/06/2025 18:52

I hope they all take their tents and litter home. I was completely appalled looking at the field after the Leeds festival.

We need a reform festival, with no foreign food, no foreign music and British values such as proper queuing for warm beer, an insurance based system for medical care, wife beating bulldog tattooed pink racists area, the blame foriners for everything stage,
the Nigel sings the Brexit blues and how it would have made us all millionaires if he had dun Brexit and Antiwoke songs and proper men and women’s toilets where they inspect your genitals to apportion gender.

I think a lot of MNers would love camping in the bigot field being nostalgic for the music of their youth like Chas and Dave, flanders and swan and George Formby that played proper tunes that you could sing along with the words and tap your feet to the tune.

“The English, the English, the English are
best
I wouldn't give tuppence for all of the rest

The rottenest bits of these islands of ours
We've left in the hands of three unfriendly powers

Examine the Irishman, Welshman or Scot
You'll find he's a stinker, as likely as not”

WillowTit · 28/06/2025 18:56

i do like myles smith, i remember he played last year, just without an audience, really impressive
enjoying TV on the radio currently
that is why i like finding different acts

They won’t. I watched a programme about the clean up last year.

Dandelionlawn · 28/06/2025 19:00

I'm mid fifties but have seen great stuff. Alanis Morisette, CMAT, Myles Smith, Lola Young now Pulp. All great.

Words · 28/06/2025 19:01

I thought the young were environmentallly aware? The whole thing should be banned on those grounds alone and I can only imagine the noise and traffic nuisance caused to local residents.

gingercat02 · 28/06/2025 19:01

Jarvis is making me smile as much as he did in the 90s

the80sweregreat · 28/06/2025 19:04

I like Jarvis !He is unique

I don't think what hamas do using civilians as human shields is ok at all, no. Either debate or ignore me, your 'pipe down' is as rude as your other deleted comment.

I am confused as to why you are on a thread about Glastonbury slating Kneecap (again). ‘Glastonbury founder Michael Eavis says people who disagree with festival’s politics can go elsewhere’, and he was referring to the Kneecap ‘controversy’ so it would seem the festival is not for you. There are other kneecap free festivals this summer for you to discuss.

I just don't think that live festivals come across well on the TV or radio AT ALL. Either be there, or don't bother.

I sort of agree, although I sometimes watch along when I’ve had a glass or two and it’s not so bad. What’s worse is when Radio 2 and 6 Music are continuously playing clips of the bands that have played earlier and they sound so bloody awful. Just play the actual record rather than a squawking live version that makes no sense and has no visual context.Confused

They do not, they have a load of people that stay on for a couple of weeks after clearing up.

Someone else mentioned them I was merely responding. Anyway they've been and gone apparently. Eavis is making a fortune so he should allow people their opinions. Who does he think he is?!

Moving on, Pulp were v good.

I am convinced she was miming on some tracks at least. In one instance she was singing an “oh” word, but he mouth was in a wide grin - impossible.

I just watched her and pretty sure she wasn't miming but she did have a backing track on some of her songs. But she was AWESOME!
Enjoyed Wet Leg too, she is such a good front person.
Caught the reveal of Patchwork who everyone guessed who it would be.
Want to watch Biffy Clyro later, Self Esteem, see if Wolf Alice is available on iPlayer, and can't remember who else I wanted to watch now

Snackpocket · 28/06/2025 19:13

Have only watched a few bits so far but enjoyed Supergrass and Biffy Clyro. Pulp are absolutely smashing it! Going to watch Shed Seven and Alanis Morrisette to carry on the 90’s theme!

TheLizardQueen · 28/06/2025 19:20

I’m mid 50s and bloody loved the 1975!

Ffs. I spent 99% of this thread thinking Bob Vylan was simply a typo…

He seems the real deal
❤️

They have indeed just played. Pulp were good, glad to see Jarvis was one of the signatories of the letter in support of Kneecap too and has commented on support of them in interviews too.
