It's no surprise really is it?
We see it all the time?
Question us whose is going to change it all.

gattocattivo · 05/06/2025 17:50

Pathetic vile shits. The girl who filmed the attack and his suffering hasn’t even got a custodial sentence because apparently that would disrupt her education and cause more harm than benefit. these are shockingly lenient sentences.

I suppose there is the fact this will follow these two criminals around for the rest of their lives so I doubt they or their families will get an easy time of it.

coxesorangepippin · 05/06/2025 17:51

Just seen this

I completely agree

It's an absolutely shockingly low sentence

coxesorangepippin · 05/06/2025 17:51

I can't imagine that man's family

Absolutely despicable

AllPlayedOut · 05/06/2025 17:53

It’s absolutely disgusting and an insult to Mr Kohli and family. I also cannot understand how it can be claimed that it wasn’t racially motivated. That poor elderly man died in terror and agony and the Judge is worried about her education? WTF? Crime is supposed to have consequences. Don’t commit a crime if you don’t care for the consequences. I have absolutely no sympathy for these two who had a choice in this matter unlike Mr Kohli. I do wonder what planet these judges live on?

rainbowunicorn · 05/06/2025 18:02

The boy and girl are absolute scum. They should both be serving life.

NightSweatsNinja · 05/06/2025 18:06

What a joke of a sentence.

Toomanysquishmallows · 05/06/2025 18:09

Ridiculously low sentence

BeliesBelief · 05/06/2025 18:09

And over in Dagenham, these two boys got 6 years and less than 3 years for burning an elderly, vulnerable man alive in his home after tormenting him for months.

Teenagers jailed over fireworks attack on widower Robert Price

Two teenagers are locked up for a firework attack which led to the death of a widower in his home.

winewolfhowls · 05/06/2025 18:09

Agreed. Absolutely terrible, especially as there was racism involved too

That poor man. It’s unimaginably horrific what he also suffered. We really are fucked as a society when there are next to no consequences for criminals who torment and torture the vulnerable elderly. I will never understand the so called logic of sentencing like this.

TeenagersAngst · 05/06/2025 18:12

I’m not entirely sure why it’s manslaughter and not murder. I think the definition of intent needs re-examining.

Ilikewinter · 05/06/2025 18:16

I watched the sentencing and that was the first time I heard in detail the attack - I really don't have the words to say how it made me feel. But the fact the girl has gotten away with a 6 month curfew and some sort of youth rehabilitation is just disgusting.

NightSweatsNinja · 05/06/2025 18:17

Doesn't sound like they've taken the racism into account. A real shame. I guess the UK is more tolerant to racists than I thought.

DrummingMousWife · 05/06/2025 18:18

They will be out in 3.5 years.
it’s shocking. This government will do nothing about it.

EmeraldRoulette · 05/06/2025 18:19

It's pathetic isn't it

The report I read said that the full video wasn't shown in court. This may or may not be true. If that's the case, I wonder why.

Anyway, I think it's pretty poor. Lord knows how his family must feel.

He does seem to have been targeted, so why is it not murder?

There are so many things that need changing in our legal system.

rainbowunicorn · 05/06/2025 18:23

Sounds like the girl has form for filming violent incidents. She had also taken a photo of the victim the week before when she was involved in an altercation with him and her friend.
They knew exactly what they were doing. It's time that scum like this were given life for crimes like this. Maybe then other teens would stop and think. There's far too much pissing about worrying about the perpretators feelings.

CoubousAndTourmalet · 05/06/2025 18:24

I'm utterly disgusted by this, but, sad to say, not particularly surprised.

That poor poor man. My heart goes out to his family.

Hkakge · 05/06/2025 18:25

Yes I was shocked by it only being 7 years too, and they will probably be out sooner. It's not much of a sentence for taking a life.

EmeraldRoulette · 05/06/2025 18:27

@Ilikewinter were you in the gallery?

ginasevern · 05/06/2025 18:27

Killing someone should be classed as murder and the death sentence applied for cases where there is absolutely no doubt or mitigating circumstances. The scum quoted above will never be rehabilitated. I used to think very, very differently but now I'm just sick to my fucking stomach.

caramac04 · 05/06/2025 18:31

The sentences do not reflect the severity of the attack. The force required to cause the horrific injuries on a helpless old man should mean a guilty of murder verdict.
The poor man was witness to two younger boys racially abusing another man two weeks before. They were throwing stones at the victim.
I genuinely think there is a problem with racism in that area and strongly suspect Mr Kohli was targeted after intervening in the previous attack. This has not been considered in court and would be difficult to prove.
My thoughts are with Mr Kholi’s family.

Gothamcity · 05/06/2025 18:33

R. I. P Mr Kohli. Can only pray this ruling gets overturned and his family can begin to seek some sort of justice. I hope the families of the perpetrators will forever be filled with shame by the actions of these vile, disgusting, human beings that clearly got some sort of sick entertainment out of attacking a vulnerable, elderly gentleman. The absolute lowest of the low. They don't deserve to see the light of day again.

Tina294 · 05/06/2025 18:39

This is so awful, I feel terrible for the poor man's family.

MonTuesWeds · 05/06/2025 18:41

Can anyone shed any light on why this is? Seriously. These people are animals
