I have made an utterly life changing discovery!!!!

So I’ve had false eyelashes applied at the beauty salon for years.
I love them, they open up my little eyes so much, and hide my drooping upper eye lids.
However, I’ve always struggled when trying to wash my hair in the shower, if they get wet they don’t last as long.
I’ve searched for a solution for SO LONG, tried the stick on plastic visors, tried to wash my hair over the sink, nothing has ever worked.
Then yesterday I had a brainwave, and bought a kid’s adjustable shower visor.
Had a shower earlier to test it out…OMG!
It worked! Not a drop of water on my face!!!
I understand this will only be of interest to those of you that have fake lashes, but I just HAD to share!!!
AIBU to say this will change my life?!?!?

Same same same. I thought it was just me and it only started happening when I turned 40. I now need the senstive glue and no matter how long I wait not to get them wet, the second they do they start to shed . I complain to the lash tech, she says no one else ever complains 🤣🤣

How do you take eye make up off?

I am interested cos droopy lids

I dont wear eye make up, I find the lashes are enough, plus my eyelids are so hooded you wouldn’t see it anyway!

See mine says to not get them wet, which is why my discovery has got me so excited!
(I have daydreamed before this discovery of inventing something and taking it on Dragons Den 😂😂😂)

Can you literally not wash your face when you have the lashes on?

I do and I've been told you should wash them due to dirt and grease getting on them. Obviously avoid shampoo and conditioner and then getting soaked. OP has said she has to wear weaker glue though.

OP, I've been thinking about trying these out lately as my eyes are getting smaller!

Would you consider showing us your eyes, as in just your eyes?

Understand if not.

Great discovery by the way.

I’d rather not if you don’t mind, but tbh my salon only charges £22 to do them, if you pop into any nail bar in the city centre you can see them being done, if you’re nervous try size small first.
I have size medium, once had the size large and looked like a drag queen 😂

I have russian volume lashes, not sure if this is the same application process as party lashes, but iv had them pretty much permanently for years. With one lash tech I used they never lasted longer than a week, constantly shedding. I'd no idea why, changed techs and now I can go 3-4 weeks losing just a couple. I sometimes need the sensitive glue but not always.... Anyway I wash my lashes daily with baby shampoo or soap free wash (think femfresh sensitive). My point is, if they're not lasting it may be worth asking your tech to try a different sensitive glue.

That said I'm totally getting a visor for my 2 year old who hates getting her hair washed!

I have one of these. It and the shredder attachment for my KitchenAid mixer are my two favorite kitchen tools, I think.

Be careful not to develop milia around your eyes.

ellyeth · 27/05/2025 23:11

How long do false eyelashes and lash extensions last and are they expensive ti be done at beauticians? Do they look silly on 70+ people?

Butterflysunshine01 · 27/05/2025 23:14

It’s really important to let them get wet and cleansed after 24 hours, horrible infections can set it if you don’t clean them!
