So I’ve had false eyelashes applied at the beauty salon for years.
I love them, they open up my little eyes so much, and hide my drooping upper eye lids.
However, I’ve always struggled when trying to wash my hair in the shower, if they get wet they don’t last as long.
I’ve searched for a solution for SO LONG, tried the stick on plastic visors, tried to wash my hair over the sink, nothing has ever worked.
Then yesterday I had a brainwave, and bought a kid’s adjustable shower visor.
Had a shower earlier to test it out…OMG!
It worked! Not a drop of water on my face!!!
I understand this will only be of interest to those of you that have fake lashes, but I just HAD to share!!!
AIBU to say this will change my life?!?!?

So you can never wash around your eyes? For the rest of your life? <mind blown and misses point of thread>

Of course uou can you just need to be careful 🧐

But the OP said the eyelashes shouldn't get wet

MrBiscuits24 · 16/05/2025 22:00

Can I also suggest you try to do your own - that has been life changing for me! £5 for three or four sets of lashes that last me a week! And the added bonus is they are so much comfier AND you can remove them whenever you want.

notacooldad · 16/05/2025 22:03

@Sumthingsweet*

I wear them but don’t see how it would change a persons life ? Bit shallow

Nothing wrong with shallow now and then.
Life doesn't have to be all high brow.

Bit twatty.

Great idea! Could you link the visor please?

Your face but not your eyes…I use a flannel.

What about taking off eyeshadow?

So no water ever touches your eyelids, or you never clean them?

Can you moisturise your eyelids

Just curious

As I said in my post, I do understand this will only be of interest to those that wear false lashes…

And thinking that none of you wash your face.

THIS!!

Tik tok shop cluster lashes! Less than £3! Look just as good as lash extensions. Half the price AND you can take them off and clean your own lashes as you please!

i apply under the lash and had so many compliments that they look like actual lash extensions!

sunsu · 16/05/2025 22:09

Trained lash tech here. Please please wash your lashes! Get a lash cleanser and wash thoroughly to get red of oils and bacteria, this should improve longevity and make sure you don’t get any infections. If the glue isn’t happy to be washed then it’s not good glue, regardless of whether it’s for sensitivity or not.

I also love lash extensions and am glad you’re happy with them but not washing them is not good, you’re lucky to not have had any problems before now x

I don’t wear eyeshadow, (see droopy eyelids) and don’t wear them constantly, I have a break sometimes.

Genius Grin

Might I add wearing swimming goggles whilst cutting onions to the list of life-changing ‘hacks’! I’ve always been really sensitive to onions (my eyes start burning and streaming after the first chop!) but never had a problem since I decided to try using goggles 🥽

Picture or it didn’t happen 😂🤣

I got these in my Christmas stocking - life changer! (Though swim goggles are probably more economical!)

Am I weird that I can wash my hair without getting my face wet?

KarCat · 16/05/2025 22:15

Klozza · 16/05/2025 21:31

Do you use a lash cleanser? I’ve had lash done extensions for about 5 years and for the first 2 I avoided getting them wet at all until I found out you’re actually meant to wash them with a lash cleanser, this was a game changer. I clean them gently with it every 2-3 days as the oils on your eyelids actually make them come off easier. Mine now last 5 weeks between infills!

Sorry if you already knew this, I just know I didn’t for yeaaaaars

Thanks so much!
Just purchased some cleanser!

How does that work with make up though and removing it?

My hair is long. When I wash it in the shower, I stand with my back to the shower so my hair is under the water. My face doesn't get wet unless I want it to. How are you standing??

I have a very powerful shower, no matter how I stand my face gets wet…believe me I have tried every position 😂

I don’t wear any eye make up, the lashes are easily enough to make me look glam, a spot of lipgloss and some blusher and I look like a supermodel 😂😂

Have you tried latisse? I used to do lash extensions but got fed up of the time it takes. Quite shocked how well latisse worked for me.

My eyelashes are really sparse so only false ones really hide my baggy eyelids.
Plus I like the process, I work really hard so having some pamper time feels great x
