Will these balloons ruin my wedding?

I am getting married in a historic, landmark in Aug. The venue has been quite strict on the things they will allow. It has been annoying at times but it’s a compromise we have to accept.

I want to add a fun element to the disco. I have found these balloons and think they are perfect. I showed the venue wedding coordinator and they said they’ve had bad experiences with balloons (wtf?) in the past so “they wouldn’t”. I feel this is overly dramatic. How hot can it get? It’s a medium sized period room (enough space for 85 people to dance).

The party room is going to be very low lit with up lights. I think the led balloons will be just right.

Do you think the venue is being ridiculous?

You don't need a Texas summer for balloons to pop. We've had them pop in the garden on an April UK birthday

If the room will look like that, you don't need the balloons, they will spoil it.

Balloons are just an awful idea all round- tacky, terrible for the environment. It's a big fat no from me.

Genuinely don't understand how balloons are still a thing..

Goodness if you are ‘allowed’ them and you would like them (it’s your Wedding) …then have them (I think they are very pretty) !

Surely when they start popping, that will ruin the mood, keep making everyone jump! Some people absolutely hate balloons when they pop.

OP if the balloons aren't going to work for the venue, could you look at LED curtain lights instead? There are loads of different styles which would likely be less problematic for the venue, but still give you some statement lighting? We put them up in our garden sometimes, which means attaching them to the kitchen window for a small part of the run, we use command hooks for that bit which are strong enough, and don't leave any damage behind when you take them down.

It’s the sort of thing that was in about 5 years ago, so are trying to tell u tactfully that people will think the same, and not a look that they wish to promote their venue.

No unfortunately I wasn't aware actually. Perhaps governments should ban helium then, rather than relying on the public informing each other and expecting individuals to self limit it. It's sold in thousands of shops, most of the general public are unlikely to know there's a shortage because it's literally everywhere.

I imagine the OP could get a similar look without the use of helium though if she really wants the balloons.

Balloons like that should be banned imo. And not because they’re a tacky as fuck.

One of my teens got a load of these for their birthday party and they were shite.

Do you ever consider why you’re reacting this way? To actually go to the trouble of searching out and commenting, because you can’t be told you’re wrong?

It’s really quite odd behaviour for an adult.

And so is constantly arguing with people who have a different opinion to you. Don’t act that way if you can’t expect it back. You really do love to argue. Poor thing.

If you have them on the ceiling how will the venue get them down for clean up? Sounds like you’re going to leave them with a bit of a ball ache
