Why are you shocked?

birdling · 07/05/2025 20:02

I suppose it's a bit dirty and there are a surprising amount of sofas in one photo...

Poppyseeds79 · 07/05/2025 20:03

Dependant on the area maybe not that wild? Also 2bed 2bath. They'd probably expect 2 professionals to share and split the bill -
£900pmth including utilities wouldn't seem as insane.

Mylegishangingoff · 07/05/2025 20:04

AlanShore · 07/05/2025 20:00

Why are you shocked?

Because it's 1800 for a shit hole?

Kw1234hhggf · 07/05/2025 20:05

AlanShore · 07/05/2025 20:00

Why are you shocked?

Because it’s grim and £1800 pcm obviously.

ThisOpenMauveLurker · 07/05/2025 20:05

“Beautifully presented” mould problem in pic 3 🤢

Gattopardo · 07/05/2025 20:06

It’s horrendous. Look at the dirt and the mould. Shameful to be letting that out. Plus many rooms appear to have no windows. Bet it isn’t building regs compliant.

Imsurethatimcertain · 07/05/2025 20:06

That's really depressing.

Scottishdreams1991 · 07/05/2025 20:07

It's overpriced and obvious mould issues

Eh? The first sentence I read was ‘beautifully presented’. Do estate agents sit these having a giggle at these write ups? Like on a serious note, how can they say such utter crap like this?

Worse than ‘This charming property’ and the house in question is full of green carpet and 70s decor. But at least clean and workable

Sunnyevenings · 07/05/2025 20:12

AlanShore · 07/05/2025 20:00

Why are you shocked?

Because it looks shit obviously.

I agree OP.

Gattopardo · 07/05/2025 20:12

See also “rarely available” on sale listings - yes, because people don’t sell houses and flats on a yearly basis.

It’s truly disgusting.

and why is it being let bills inclusive? Is it a shed at the end of someone’s garden or an illegally converted garage or basement or something?

Crikeyalmighty · 07/05/2025 20:12

blimey my sons flat in Belsize Park is only slightly more and is very lovely

TimeForABreak4 · 07/05/2025 20:14

AlanShore · 07/05/2025 20:00

Why are you shocked?

Why are you NOT shocked?

Zippidydoodah · 07/05/2025 20:15

It’s disgusting. And “fully furnished/beautifully presented” it is NOT.

The second one is a million times nicer as well as being cheaper.

Callie247 · 07/05/2025 20:23

The black mould 🤢

whynotwhatknot · 07/05/2025 20:26

beautifully presented mould it should say

should be illegal

ihavebecomecomfortablynumb · 07/05/2025 20:27

The phrases ‘beautifully presented’, ‘fully furnished’ and ‘stylish decor’ are doing some seriously heavy lifting here.

Mauro711 · 07/05/2025 20:31

Umm is the backsplash made of tin foil? And the fridge freezer has no doors?

ReadingSoManyThreads · 07/05/2025 20:33

Grim.

You just know from the fact they've posted it on Gumtree that it'll be a shitty Landlord.

JMSA · 07/05/2025 20:43

It’s on Gumtree so the landlord can write whatever shite he wants!
This place is an actual disgrace. I mean, I know Edinburgh rents are insane, but still …
I hope he gets many time-wasting and critical replies!

Itscoffee · 07/05/2025 20:50

I`ve had times where i would have been glad to sleep in it.

Gyozas · 07/05/2025 20:51

“Beautifully presented”. lol. Fuck off.

SunnySideDeepDown · 07/05/2025 20:54

Bright and well furnished?

It’s a fucking joke. I wouldn’t feel right giving that away, let alone asking someone for £1800. The law needs to change.
