Thought it would be nice to start a positive post so what things make you happy big or small .. some of mine are seeing the kids laughing having fun, gardening, tapas and a cocktail in the sun, having a weekend day of no plans, exploring interesting new places and ..sleep 😂

OP posts:

Sitting on my sofa in my lovely house, with a full tummy, knowing I have all I need, including the cat, and knowing that my adult kids are all happy too. I'm happy and privileged.

I had a joyous days yesterday. I did a new walk around fields and woodlands. Absolutely beautiful scenery and a perfect day with a perfect pint near the end.

DiligentFlautist · 03/05/2025 10:35

Art, books, nature.

Simplestars · 03/05/2025 10:37

Gratitude for life

Wineinbathtub · 03/05/2025 10:38

Love the thread! Walking in nature and swimming make me happy 😍

MoistVonL · 03/05/2025 10:39

A cuddle with next door’s baby.
Eating veg we grew in the garden. It’s asparagus season now and it’s just fantastic.
Listening to my adult kids making each other laugh when they are here together.
Birds.
Sitting on a swing in the shade on a warm day.
The seaside.
Getting completely immersed in a good book, then discovering there are a few more in the series.
Singing along to the radio while gardening.

BitOutOfPractice · 03/05/2025 10:39

Big things: the kids, dp, work, friends, my family.

Small things:,great workout with my pt, my local pub, holidays (and planning them and packing For them), picpoul de pinet wine, breakfast, walking to work, a great podcast, talking history with dd1, crisps, music, puzzles.

So much. I am a very happy and lucky woman.

babasaclover · 03/05/2025 10:40

Working out. Even if I only have time for 20 minutes I still go to the gym. Helps my mental health massively and then that right sore muscle feeling lasts for days yay

FiveShelties · 03/05/2025 10:40

Walking my beautiful Sheltie on the beach. Sharing a bottle of NZ or Australian wine with my husband. Seeing friends.

But must of all, just the sheer joy of being well. Have lost some very good friends and realised not much beats good health.😁

HeyCattykins · 03/05/2025 10:42

Nature and wildlife, music, the rain on my roof whilst I'm in my bed, my hot water bottle (I have endo and IBS) and crisps.

(and my dc and my dh).

KimberleyClark · 03/05/2025 10:43

DH, going to the gym, dogs, books.

Wallabyone · 03/05/2025 10:46

So many things-my first coffee in the morning, chatting over dinner with my husband and children, shopping on my own and having a coffee and piece of cake. Reading my book in the garden on a sunny day, walking in the woods, having a drink in the pub garden with friends, watching my class achieve something new, chatting and laughing with my class. Going on holiday-all of it, the prep, the excitement, the travel there 🌞

Nevertrustacop · 03/05/2025 10:47

Cats, Mr whippy 99s, tomato plants, baths, the sea, wetherspoons, a heated throw, planning holidays.

Snoods · 03/05/2025 10:48

Doing nothing in particular with loved ones whenever I can. Meals and drinks in or out with friends and family mainly.
Seeing my son living his best life and off with his mates.
Time in my little home just pottering.
The more extravagant thing would be going on the amazing holidays we manage to go on as a family. Seeing new places in the world with my DH and DS. Feel very lucky being able to work and earn and spend it on this.

andtheworldrollson · 03/05/2025 10:49

Music
walking

VirgosNeedGoals · 03/05/2025 10:52

Nature, wine, good food, knowing my parents are okay and not having to be around other people.

bigknitblanket · 03/05/2025 10:52

Sunshine
Dogs
beaches
nice cake

If I can go for coffee and great cake at a cafe overlooking a beach full of dogs having fun on a sunny day that’s my ultimate happy place 😁

Theseventhmagpie · 03/05/2025 10:54

When my little dog puts his soft furry paws round my neck and snuggles in for a cuddle.

squashyhat · 03/05/2025 10:54

Being retired and having enough money to enjoy it.
Starting a good series on tv and knowing there are many episodes to come.
Warm sunny weather

Littledidsheknow · 03/05/2025 10:57

Being with my DH, my DC and my dog. Being in my beautiful house. Going on walks by the sea where I live.

Also, getting things done! I've done a lot of outside work in the past couple of months: painting the house and outside furniture, repairing walls, cleaning the flagstones, and digging and planting a vegetable bed.
It's not just the improvement to my garden that's pleasing, it's the feeling of accomplishment of having done it. So rewarding.

BoredZelda · 03/05/2025 11:01

My life generally. I’m very content with my little life. My husband and daughter are fantastic and make me laugh at least once a day.

Beyond that it would be dogs. And being in bed. My dog being in bed with me is the ultimate. 😀

This sounds good. Can I join you? We don’t have to chat, we can just people watch. I’ll bring my dog.

OoLaOoLa · 03/05/2025 11:03

This week..
Gardening
Reading
My son got a promotion
It’s flip flop season
Giving my friends chubby baby a mashed up banana
Bouncing the baby on my knees and hearing his gorgeous little laugh.

Little things - makes a happier life

Blue sky, flowers, spring a springing, pooches and strokes, a walk in the park, the trees swaying in the wind, a good coffee, the birds tweeting.

I’m a dog sitter and I’m away this week so I’m managing this most days (just keeping off the cake some days to save the scales 😂)
