Thought it would be nice to start a positive post so what things make you happy big or small .. some of mine are seeing the kids laughing having fun, gardening, tapas and a cocktail in the sun, having a weekend day of no plans, exploring interesting new places and ..sleep 😂

Going out for meals, treating myself to a latte from KFC or McDonald's, reading a book in peace, researching history, cuddling my dog, putting my pyjamas on and getting warm after a long day in work (where it's cold).

Dymaxion · 03/05/2025 15:44

People
Food
Wine
Books
Charity shops

Not always in that order.

OneSongForever · 03/05/2025 15:44

Spending time with my partner, children and friends

Animals and nature

Music, singing, dancing

Visiting my home country

Walking/running in nice surroundings

A good book, tv show or film

Sitting around a campfire.

Sitting outside on summer evenings

venusandmars · 03/05/2025 16:07

Every morning, while the kettle is boiling, I stand outside for 1 or 2 minutes (in my dressing gown and slippers). I pay attention to every sense - smell (cold frost or warm herbs), sound (birds, a buzzing bee or an overhead plane and some distant traffic), sight (the light as the seasons change or the changing colours of leaves and flowers), touch (might be rain on my head or a warm breeze around my bare legs).

It takes almost no time, and starts each day really grounded, aware and appreciative. It puts me in touch with my world. It is 2 minutes where nothing else matters.

idratherbedrawing · 03/05/2025 18:10

Drawing (clues in the name)
The Adam Buxton podcasts and the Parenting Hell podcasts (they make doing housework almost effortless)
Cycling places (add the places as while I like cycling I’m not a Lycra clad sporty type - I just love pootling around on my pashley bike in London, can be quite far but not a mega road ride
Outdoor swimming
Mooching in charity shops

Girliefriendlikespuppies · 03/05/2025 18:18

Just sitting on the sofa with dd and the pets makes me happy, my little family.

A sunny day, a nice cup of tea, meeting a friend for coffee, a really good book or tv series, a bar of chocolate, seeing dd happy.

It doesn’t take much for me to be happy!

Middlemarch123 · 03/05/2025 18:22

My 3 year old cuddling me and telling me he loves me after a long day
I have planted David Austin roses for the first time this year and smelling them over the last few days has been wonderful.
Doesnt happen often these days but I love being in the car with my mum and chatting away just like we did on the school run nearly 20 years ago …
