To fucking hate cheese?

Eyes98 · 10/04/2025 19:35

Know this will probably get me kicked off of here๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ but does anyone else absolutely hate the smell and taste of cheese and not understand how on earth it is popular? It smells of feet and tastes of Christ only knows what, but people still seem to love it? If someone told you โ€œyou smell of cheeseโ€ youโ€™d be deeply insulted however it still seems to be a โ€œdelicious foodโ€? I canโ€™t seem to recall any other food that smells so putrid yet people love it?

Yes. YABVVVVU
Re smells - you wouldnโ€™t like to be told you smelled of Garlic either. Food and personal smells are different.

Exactly what I thought!

Dinosweetpea · 10/04/2025 19:38

Go wash your mouth out immediately (with cheese)!

SummaLuvin · 10/04/2025 19:39

is it really that hard for you to understand that different people enjoy different things? most people manage to grasp that as young children. (and I say this as someone who also doesn't like cheese)

Burngreave · 10/04/2025 19:40

Saying you donโ€™t like cheese is like saying you donโ€™t like fruit.

No cheese at all?

Not even bland fake cheese like Diarylea? Or cheesy Wotsits?

You have my sympathy.

Newnameahoy · 10/04/2025 19:45

Are you my dh ๐Ÿค”

ZemblanityZen · 10/04/2025 19:50

I don't want to be told that I smell of onion, fish or even fried chicken. In fact, there aren't many foods that I would wear as a perfume.

Cerialkiller · 10/04/2025 19:51

Well someone has to balance out people like me. I've never met a cheese I didn't like.

I would say more for the rest of us but I must say the cheese haters are a pain to cater for. My step dad despises cheese so whenever they come over for meals it's a challenge. I just feel bad for my mum as she love Italian food but they can never go together as he hates the smell of melted cheese the most (literally gagging).

I take the opportunity to feed her all the stuff he hates when she is here without him, spicy cheesy fajita, lasagna, while baked camembert, goats cheese salad etc ๐Ÿ˜

WheresYourSnickers · 10/04/2025 19:53

Cheese is food of the gods!!!!

Sorry but someone has to say it.

JoshLymanSwagger · 10/04/2025 19:53

I agree with you OP.
And you can add any and all types of fish too.

Google 'Blue brain cheese.' This may be a variety you don't like! ๐Ÿ˜‚

LlynTegid · 10/04/2025 19:54

Your choice, all the more for me and others who like cheese.

PleaseDontFingerMyPouffe · 10/04/2025 19:55

This is the saddest thing I have ever read โ˜น๏ธ

BertieBotts · 10/04/2025 19:55

I am with you but I can't really claim any kind of superiority because I just have some kind of intolerance to it - it totally upsets my stomach. As a consequence, I have never fancied it at all. I can eat a tiny amount without getting ill but every time I have, it tastes terrible unless it's some miniscule amount of topping on a ready meal or something. Or cream cheese spread is tolerable, but I wouldn't choose it.

I love garlic and wouldn't mind smelling of it Grin I think it's quite a pleasant smell.

I don't care if other people eat cheese near me but I have to admit I am happy that DH isn't a fan of stinky stuff as I wouldn't like to have it in the fridge regularly.

CheesyRaver · 10/04/2025 19:56

Me! It's disgusting ๐Ÿคฎ all types inc cheesecake etc. to the extent that even seeing an advert makes me feel ill.

I blame being force fed grated cheese on ravioli for primary school dinners whilst trying not to gag or throw up ๐Ÿคฎ

Actually even thinking about it is making me queasy ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ๐Ÿคฎ

PsychoHotSauce · 10/04/2025 19:56

Dairylea is completely different from Stilton... I never understand (and feel sorry for!) people who say they don't like any cheese!

I eat cheese every single day Grin

justinhawkinsnavalfluff · 10/04/2025 19:57

Op you are typing words but I don't understand them.

Lovesacake · 10/04/2025 19:58

Cheese is rank. The end.

BertieBotts · 10/04/2025 19:58

What is weird is that it is so repellent you would really expect it to be a sort of Marmite food (like olives) but I have rarely met anyone who doesn't like it and most people just gawp in amazement when you say you don't eat it/don't like it.

Hottchoc · 10/04/2025 19:58

I completely agree, I have never like it at all.

You've hit my 'dealbreaker' op .... I'm afraid we can't be friends ๐Ÿฅน

TroysMammy · 10/04/2025 20:00

Freak.

Cattenberg · 10/04/2025 20:02

I find most cheeses repellent too. I like cheesecake, grilled halloumi or tikka paneer, but I think hard cheeses smell and taste awful.

Duckyfondant · 10/04/2025 20:04

Yep I hate it too. It all smells a bit gone off to me and it's so greasy
