To think baths are awful?

I’ve lived in my house for four years and there is a very deep and long L shaped bath which is the envy of my bath loving friends. I’ve never been keen on baths and never used it. But tonight I thought, for a change, I’d run myself one and take my book.

It was absolutely shit. Took bloody ages to run, then I got in and couldn’t hold by book right. The water was a nice temperature but it made my face too hot. It was boring. I lasted twenty minutes and then drained the water. Complete waste.

I find them mildly disgusting. Right up close to the grouting. It’s horrible. AIBU?

I use them for pain relief.

Don't be such a drama queen. Why are you so filthy that a bath would be so full of filth? Do you work down a mine?

I have just enjoyed a lovely soak in the bath. I shower every day and have had a leisurely day today and didn't get dirty or sweaty. I feel lovely and clean.

Love’em. Only way to be warm in this freezing house in winter. They get you warm to your bones, and then you don’t shiver under the covers for most of the night wishing you had a darn sight more than 4 cats to keep you warm, or for a couple of lions……

I hate baths too 😂 nothing relaxing about sitting in dirty water 😕 I'd rather a shower 🚿

The water isn't dirty unless you are absolutely filthy before you get in. Do you have a very dirty physical job?

What is it with people who think that bath water is dirty?

I don’t think bath water is dirty. I still hate baths though. Even in my huge one, some of you is out of water and cold. I don’t understand lying in them for ages. The bottom of the bath is hard. There’s nothing to do. Boring and uncomfortable. Quick shower, cosy loungewear, lie in soft sofa or bed and read/drink/eat. Much more satisfactory.

So even more of you is out of the water and chilly. Why? It’s not comfortable! Sofas and beds are designed for comfort and reading. Baths are not!

My bathroom is nice and warm. I am not cold when I am in the bath.

Even though this is a zombie thread, I still had to comment and say YANBU. Never understood how baths are relaxing. They take ages to run and then when I get in it’s a case of trying not to look at my flabby bits while simultaneously keeping the whole thing at a decent temperature. How is that fun?

We have a squared off p shaped bath with shower over in the main bathroom ....never use it !!,
The smaller traditional bath is my bath of choice...only I ever use it ...warm cosy room bubble and my book ....heaven !

A lovely cool bath in the Summer is lovely and very refreshing!
