Knickers... How many is too many?

We are changing our bedroom furniture and my new knicker drawer is smaller than the old one; the the drawer needed to be sorted. Turns out I have 173 pairs of knickers!
This got me wondering, does anyone have less than 20 pairs? What is the minimum?

😱oh my! I probably have about 15, only 8 of which I actually swear! Oh, also have three "bicycle short" style for wearing on hot days with dresses, so I guess 18.

I have never counted, but it's one narrow organiser box worth of every day knickers and one of fancy pants.

Now socks are a different matter.

About 18 pairs 3 of which are too small!

My oh bought 30 new pairs in November which I thought was excessive. I have 10 pairs of regular and 5 skims thongs

I wouldn’t like to guess, but I’ve got to shove them in my drawer.

I’ve lost the plot with socks in our house.

I have about 20-25 knickers

Like pp socks I have dozens

Probably 15 pairs of which I actually wear half.

Feeling pretty smug about this right now as I very recently decluttered my underwear drawer and whittled it down to exactly 20
pairs. 10 plain black and the other 10 are more frivolous but still functional (and 8 of them have a matching bra).
They are all rolled neatly into the organiser box thing in my drawer 😇

About 25. Five pairs of saggy cotton period knickers (not the absorbent kind, just old knickers to wear with pads, about 15 pairs of plain black everyday pants and a few pairs of satin, lacy sexy time knickers.

What possessed you to buy so many, op?!

I've about 35 pairs....
Need enough for a two week holiday at 2 pair's per day, plus a day either side.

Yes less than 20. Anything more than 30 is excessive surely? Over 100 is ridiculous!

Usually, if you've put on so many that you can't actually pull your trousers up over your arse, I'd say that's too many knickers.

Other than that, if n = number of days it takes to order a new washing machine and have it delivered, n+1 generally seems to suffice.

Why do you wear 2 pairs per day?! 😆

@NeverDropYourMooncup my washing machine died thos morning, new one being delivered tomorrow but I think 2 pairs might be a bit tight for holidays.

I always take at least two pairs per day of holiday - if I'm hot and sweaty in the day I want clean knickers for the evening 🙂

I'm not going to count but probably between 20 and 25, though some I never wear unless I haven't done any washing for a while, so maybe more. I like to have enough for a two week holiday plus a few so I don't need to wash any while I'm away. 173 is crazy!!!

I've never actually counted, but I'd guess about 12-20 as a rough estimate. 🤷

After a day out and about I normally have a shower once back at the hotel/villa to freshen up before going out in the evening and I just prefer to wear a clean pair instead of putting the same ones back on.

Also was desperate to know why two pairs for holiday 🤣

I might have about 20 ish pairs. Perhaps a few more if you count specialist ones such as uncomfortable but sexy, hold it all in ones, vintage style silk ones.

Sock, as someone mentioned, I’m quite particular and so only have about 8 pairs. I replace them regularly, no holes or thin bits or crunchiness from too much washing and wearing.

I have 75 pairs, I wear all of them in turn and if they have worn out I am not replacing them

About 20 pairs I think, never counted them.

Definitely less than 20. About 12 in regular rotation and a few pairs of nice romantic time knickers that haven’t seen the light of day since DS was born.

Definitely 2 pairs a day on holiday especially if it’s a hot country!
