Knickers... How many is too many?

We are changing our bedroom furniture and my new knicker drawer is smaller than the old one; the the drawer needed to be sorted. Turns out I have 173 pairs of knickers!
This got me wondering, does anyone have less than 20 pairs? What is the minimum?

My cut off is however many fits in my underwear drawer. If I can't shut the drawer I throw out the old ones

I’m not sure exactly, but maybe 10 or 12 pairs.

About 20. Most of mine are from British Boxers as I fine them really comfortable. I've also got a few pairs of granny knickers from when I still had periods, they really need to be thrown out.

Two dozen all M&S the same. Did a huge declutter ladt year. Sooo much easier now

Please tell me what the super super comfy ones are! Lots of mine are on their way out so I’m going to need some new ones soon.

The problem is one shape does not suit all. I like M&S Brazilians, they suit my shape, others dislike them.

I don't know exactly, but when I moved them quite recently, I was shocked at the quantity. There were even a couple still in that rolled up multi-pack style, that I'd clearly never worn, and didn't even remember buying.
I'd guess somewhere between 50 and 75.

Can't go wrong with the M&S multipack "full brief" style.
They're not as full brief as you'd imagine, but give good coverage and no wedges! Lovely and soft as well.

I would much rather hand wash a few pairs as I go along on holiday than have 40 pairs of dirty underwear in luggage for 2-3 weeks.
same with socks. I probably wear 2 pairs a day on holiday ( out in day, fresh in evening), but I don’t own 28+ pairs socks for a 2 week trip. Plus suitcases would just be full of underwear. Just hand wash every few days.

170+ pairs of pants must cost a fortune

They were recommended on MN so I thought I'd give them a go. As pps have pointed out, they might not fit your no doubt peachy rear as comfortably as they do my humungous rump, so bear this in mind...

I had a clear out of underwear... I think I am down to 50/60 which feels sparse... but don't ask me about bras

I've had a cull and I've got about 20 pairs now including those to go with matching sets. All my knickers are now comfortable.

I always take 2 pairs per day for holiday as well.

I must have 50 pairs of plain black cotton tangas, because you don't see them very often these days and I buy them when they are available. I'm about to throw away some of the older ones, which I've had for years and which are beginning to get tired.
I also have about 12 chub rub type shorts for wearing under summer dresses.
