To ask what is wrong with men?

I just despair, I really do.

I was walking from the train station to my office this morning. I’m overweight, but I’ve lost a lot of weight and I’m not as massive as I was.

But as I’m walking I hear a man yelling at me, and I took my AirPods out. He’s hanging out of a taxi window yelling “look at the state of you!! Walking around like a fucking whale!!!” and making rude gestures at me, his mates are in the taxi laughing as well.

Im sure he was just drunk, but really? I’m 25 and he looked to be at least 40, what’s the need for it?!

Are you anywhere near the races. It's Gold Cup here and the number of drunk men out having breakfast is staggering.

They are probably coked up. Weird aggressive behaviour. Pity the taxi driver didn't kick them out of the car.

Unfortunately, it happens to all of us. I remember being on the tube about 20 years ago and this guy started chatting, pretending to be friendly and then he turned on me, slagging me off because I m Irish. They will find something to get aggressive about.

Ah I remember walking around as a very fat woman. Wasn't unusual for men to chuck stuff at me let alone shout things, even men with a good 10 years on me. Life became very different once I developed an eating disorder and got very skinny... Everyone was so nice out in public, it was eye opening. That's sad too.

My ex used to call me a fat cow or bitch in arguments, I was a size 8 and 8 stone at the time. They aren't clever enough to be original so resort to fat comments and insults, bunch of fucking chimps...it says a lot, lot more about them than you.

That’s really disgusting that he thought he could just shout that out to you , disgraceful. It’s verbal abuse and next time just have a comeback , I would have said something like ‘just like your mom then’ LOL. Yeah I know it’s immature but these men are all like that. And then men say they are lonely. In my opinion it needs to be a pandemic. I wish I knew all the men who spoke to women like this so I could avoid them. They will treat women they find attractive so differently it is hard to believe they are the same person.

Never blame yourself for responding like an emotionally aware person. They are to blame. It is upsetting to think people can behave that because we see these men as people and they do not see us as people.

Sorry this happened to you OP - of course you’re a bit upset, grown men shouting at you or acting aggressively towards you would make anyone upset!

It’s nothing to do with you or your weight and all to do with his issues - imagine being a grown man who thinks women only exist to please you and that your mates will be really impressed by you if you’re rude and aggressive to strangers?

I can remember coming out of a nightclub once about 1 am. I was mid 20s. I always dressed smartly, I was driving so completely sober and walking to my car.
Then a taxi pulled up next to me and stopped. Gang of lads in it.
One of them had spotted me in the club.
He was shouting at me telling me no wonder I was going home on my own, I was boring, I was a F-ing skank, ugly, even he wouldn’t shag me and he’d shag anything. Even as the cab was driving off he was shouting.
The irony was he was very, very famous footballer at the time. Very much sold as the ‘boy next door’ type your mum would love.
I felt sick and was shaking it was horrible.
I still see him in the TV here and then he’s made a career out of his doting husband persona now as well.
Now I realise he was coked out of his mind.

I'm sorry that's happened but the flaw is with them and not you. Dh used to be heavy as a teenager and people would shout 'fat bd' and throw food at him. I'm.sad to hear not much has changed.
