Swinging teachers

Interested to read some opinions on this. Someone we know has found out that a teacher at their child's school is a swinger. This person is aghast about this and wants to report the teacher (not sure what for) and is refusing to let them teach their child.
My attitude is that as long as it doesn't affect their work (whichbit clearly isnt) then what the teacher chooses to do in their private time is their business and their business only. ATBU?

All sorts of daft rumours go round about teachers. How do you know this 100% true?(sorry not read full thread)

Longma · 09/03/2025 18:52

Keiththecatwithamagichat · 08/03/2025 18:10

How can she refuse to let a teacher teach her child? And who would she report it to?

Quite.

How would that even work?
Parents don't get to dictate which classes, and which teachers, teach their children.

BountifulPantry · 09/03/2025 19:26

The teachers sex life is private.

It is relevant if other teachers or staff in the school are partaking, even if nowhere near the school and at weekends. Conflict of interest in a sense if someone manages another person.

I also would not want someone who does this taking PSHE lessons.

However, my guess is it could be a nasty rumour.

You know that it's really, really common for teachers to date or be married to another teacher in the same school though? I met and started dating my future dh at a school we both taught in.

Beautifulweeds · 09/03/2025 19:53

I'm sure they will follow the PSHE curriculum as all do, no matter personal preferences/sensuality etc.

CheckoutChump · 09/03/2025 21:23

It is the OP who has found out and is aghast.

So I have to ask the question again, how do you know this OP if you don’t mix in those circles yourself?

Or is it really just nonsense as we all suspect?

I agree so much with this, I can’t understand the worry about a swinging teacher teaching PHSE, is there an assumption they’ll design their own curriculum and teach the children about swinging? I’m sure they just follow the curriculum like all other teachers do!

Retired headteacher here. I can confirm that the Monday morning staffroom is on fire with tales of weekend sex romps with multiple partners, some of them human, while dressed in studded leather thongs and ingesting copious amounts of class A drugs.

I used to try and force my staff to stay in their classroom cupboards all weekend, marking books and sharpening pencils but they kept escaping so I gave up. Degenerates, the lot of them.

I love this post. 😂

Gunkle1 · 10/03/2025 00:45

The teacher is doing no wrong, unless is discussing this with pupils or are trying to engage pupils.

Swinging is not illegal or immoral, its just someone's alternative lifestyle.

No safeguarding issues here, not reasons to complain and no reason to even pass comment.

From the title I thought you meant people teaching others how to be swingers

Maybe that's why the busy body is so interested, she's using the offended stance to cover her tracks 😏😜

LSADM · 10/03/2025 11:05

Foostit · 09/03/2025 01:18

A parent once told me that her and her husband were swingers. 😳😂 I heard a rumour about one colleague swinging at a school I worked in too. That school was rife though, some of these posters would have a heart attack if they knew the half of it. Numerous affairs, shagging on school premises and post staff do threesomes. Did it affect any of their abilities to do their jobs? Absolutely not.

When I was at school over 25 years ago we caught 2 PE teachers at it in the PE staff room. The female teacher swiftly left whilst the male teacher stayed. The female teacher did return though for the school skiing trip to America. We knew what they were up to though 🙈 we were 14 and they bought us Budweiser whilst in America.

I suppose I'm old-fashioned, but I wouldn't be too happy about a Teacher at my child's School 'swinging', obviously has little respect (if any) for themselves if they're constantly bed-hopping, then there's associated sexual diseases, I would write to the School Governors, I think they should know.

Maddy70 · 10/03/2025 11:57

Does their sex life interfere with their child's education? The answer is no.
Mind your own business
Teaching is a job that's all. They are allowed personal lives

What about single teachers 'bed-hopping'? Is that OK because anyone can catch an STD. Or is it just the married ones you object to? What about the School Governors? Are you going to pry into their private lives as well because some of them might be visiting brothels at the weekend (or heaven forbid be in this teacher's swingers club!). Don't forget the teaching assistants, lunchtime supervisors and the lollypop lady - they could be secret 'doggers'. It's probably a full-time job checking up on what school staff get up to, gathering evidence, reporting it and delivering moralising sermons. Let's hope concerned parents have the time to do it!

So if a teacher has sex with someone and you found out they had an sti you would report them to governors?? Wow. No wonder teachers are leaving in droves

I was a school governor for 20 years.

We would have zero interest in teachers' sex lives.

As long as they do the job they are paid for, they can contract as many diseases as they see fit.

Our opinion of busybodies attempting to destroy people's careers would be extremely low.

FeministUnderTheCatriarchy · 10/03/2025 12:04

Hahahahaha how utterly ridiculous.

Teachers are humans. They can engage in whatever consensual and legal sexual acts they want, as long as they aren't doing it during school hours.

I swear, some people would prefer their children to be taught by robots.
They may get their wish of Elon keeps up.

I worked in a nursery for a long time.... Swinging is one of the tamest things people were getting up to.

Grow up.

You would try to ruin someone's life and how they provide for their family because they are having consensual sex?

You are disgraceful.

Absolutely not me, I couldn't give a rats arse what my kids teachers get up to in their free time as long as it doesn't affect their day job. And fwiw I'd rather my children were taught by a good teacher who has an alternative, perfectly legal lifestyle than some of the closet peados that taught when I went to school

So a person with a family who goes around sleeping with multiple partners is acceptable to you ?.......some people have no morals, self-respect, or dignity, and you call me a disgrace !

Teachers are the worst! I know lots of teachers who are on drugs / booze / sex apps.

pollymere · 10/03/2025 12:26

It's a complex one. I've worked in schools where as part of the Government Teaching Standards you are expected to behave in a morally upstanding way. This has meant some teachers not divulging same sex relationships in the past.

I was expected to not go to the shops in my PJs in my last job as it would bring the school into disrepute. Things as simple as Tiktok were also heavily discouraged. We were expected to have a Social Media profile befitting our professional status.

Some schools don't care as long as your private life stays private.

MissyPants · 10/03/2025 12:29

Report for what? They aren't breaking the law? Not everyone thinks they should only have sex with a life long partner and I can see why. What might not appear to be normal to one person (reportee) might be normal to the other (teacher) . People have different kinks & fantasies etc, which is supported by the evolving sexualities and desires

that we now have (LGBTQ, BDSM etc).
Wouldn't bother me in the slightest.

How does the teacher's sex life affect the way they do their job?

I'm assuming the teacher isn't partaking on school grounds or during contracted work hours.

Every adult, including teachers, are allowed a private life and yes, that involves sex. If it isn't illegal then what is the actual issue really?
