Please tell me the best mattress you have ever slept on! We need a new one, our current is way too firm and very uncomfortable!
We have never gotten over this one bed we slept in years ago in a hotel that felt like sleeping on a fluffy cloud! So please tell me your recommendations ! Thanks 🤩

@Branleuse thats the one we have, I love it.

Unforgettablefire · 19/02/2025 19:24

Does anyone know if all the good mattresses are no roll together or do you have to buy one specifically?
My dream would be finding one that is supportive of two peoples weight in one spot.
My dp sleeps very close to me so all the weight is on my side, he’s heavier than me so there’s a dip and it gives me back ache. It’s a firm mattress as well.

GinandGingerBeer · 24/02/2025 12:55

I absolutely hate my Emma mattress it's hot. It's sagged and when I complained they told me to take a picture of it with a ton of beans on it now I don't weigh a tonne but how on earth is a tin of beans going to show how saggy and uncomfortable it is?
I'm on the lookout for a new one- have been to a few show rooms and by the time I've laid on them all I've lost the will to live and leave Grin
I don't want to make a bad decision.

catin8oots · 24/02/2025 13:01

Believe it or not but Premier inn

I always sleep like a baby. You can go via their website to order one

GinandGingerBeer · 24/02/2025 13:05

Oops they did not ask me to put a ton of beans on it. Just a tin!

We got a new mattress a few months ago.
I absolutely love it.
Its wool filled which means it regulates my temperature really well. Its so comfortable

Can I ask what it's like months later please? I'm going back and forth on wether to splash out this much money on this mattress as I have sciatica/permanent slipped disc. Feels beautiful in store like laying on a fluffy cloud that hugs you back! But some reviews mention dipping and it not feeling the same as the one in store?

Harrison Spinks
(They do the Flaxby range at Dreams).

I really like natural fibres. They regumate body temperatures pretty well.

Would never have a memory foam type. My parents had one and it created mould under their bed.

We went away over half term & stayed in 5 different places, so 5 different mattresses. The best was the Premier Inn one, followed by the Hilton one.
Our current mattress is over 12 years old (& has been through two pregnancies!) so we’ve decided to treat ourselves to the Premier Inn one. It arrives tomorrow - really hoping it’s nice!!

Tempur

Ours is Ikea.
Was just under £300 for a king size and is lovely! I can't remember the name but it's a medium to firm i think.

Go in and have a roll about on them all no one cares or pesters😃

Valevag?

We have this one - I love it!

APurpleSquirrel · 17/06/2025 14:27

Our new Premier Inn mattress by Silent Night has arrived & seems very comfy. Will report back tomorrow after the first night.

OlympiaOzempic · 17/06/2025 14:56

We had an Emma, it sagged really badly. Had to jump through hoops to get them to collect it and had to wait weeks for a refund as it was still under guarentee. Their customer service is appalling look on trust pilot and there's also a Facebook group dedicated to complaints and people trying to get their money back. Don't do it.

Reylon.

Vi Spring. Expensive but lasts decades!

user1469629176 · 17/06/2025 17:14

We need a new mattress too - our current silentnight ‘natural’ 2800 pocket spring one is way too firm and causing back pain for both of us. Currently considering John Lewis natural collection mattresses and the Loaf ones

Blueuggboots · 17/06/2025 17:18

We’ve got a water bed. Best thing EVER.

DilemmaDelilah · 17/06/2025 18:39

It was a gel mattress. I can't remember the make. We gave it to my daughter when we changed to a king size and although we have an excellent mattress now nothing has been as good as the gel mattress.

We hate our Hypnos. What they don’t tell you until you’re spent £3k on a mattress is that their mattresses quickly (<6 months) develop people shaped divots and a large uncomfortable hump in the centre, and this is not a warranty issue.

Their Trustpilot is full of the same complaint.

The bed looks terrible when made due to the unevenness and it’s only marginally better to sleep on.

That’s interesting. Can I ask when you bought it? We’re on our second Hypnos (had the first for 20 years - ooops! Did buy a topper latterly). We’ve had current one 7 years now and love it - not the Premiere Inn one. I find memory foam comfortable, but too hot.

We slept on another really comfortable mattress in a hotel a few years ago. It was so good that I stripped the bed to find out what it was - IKEA! I made a note of the model and then lost it!

I've an organic latex mattress from Yannis. It's wrapped in wool and covered in breathable cotton. Cost a fortune, but 15 years later is still going strong. It's really comfy, anti dustmite, bed bug, bacterial, hypoallergenic, everything. Barring accidents, I expect it to last another 15.

Flossflower · 17/06/2025 20:24

Last year we bought John Lewis own make mattresses and beds for the spare room which is usually slept in by the grandchildren. When they came they were Harrison Spinks.
We have always had ViSpring and are very happy with it.

madamegazelle1 · 17/06/2025 21:15

IKEA Hovag- they have renamed it now. Worst one was Hypnos

Vispring. Ours is 10 years old and like new. I find any other bed so uncomfortable though.

I can't find YANNIS online. Could you post a link please?
