Please tell me the best mattress you have ever slept on! We need a new one, our current is way too firm and very uncomfortable!
We have never gotten over this one bed we slept in years ago in a hotel that felt like sleeping on a fluffy cloud! So please tell me your recommendations ! Thanks 🤩

We need one, just looked at the Emma website and am confused - do they only have 4 to choose from?

Before getting an Emma I'd recommend checking the recent Trust Pilot reviews (terrible customer service if you have problems, I can attest to this).

I ended up in hospital thanks to an emma mattress
Got in touch with customer services, jumped through their 20,000 hoops and then they ghosted me
Tried to get in touch endlessly but they where useless and kept fobbing me off
I'd never recommend them-theh are shite

Emma

Mine has sagged significantly despite buying less than 2 years ago (I'm not big by any stretch and rotate it regularly). This has happened to several friends too

we have this. It’s dreamy

Harrison Spinks
(They do the Flaxby range at Dreams).

I really like natural fibres. They regumate body temperatures pretty well.

Would never have a memory foam type. My parents had one and it created mould under their bed.

SeenYourArse · 18/02/2025 22:12

Tempur Cloud! It’s the softest one they make and you sink into and it’s like a literal cloud, paired with the matching pillows best £1600 we EVER spent!

NeonGiraffe · 18/02/2025 22:13

I now have an Emma original memory foam. Be aware this is a different proposition from Emma nextgen hybrid. The latter is, imo, quite soft, was horrendous for my lower back. Returned it and replaced it for the Emma original memory foam, (medium firm) more supportive and so far great.

It very much depends on your requirements. Are you a side or front or back sleeper. Do you have back/hip or shoulder issues etc.. Once I got it wrong I did a load of research and now have the right bed but it's so particular to the individual.

FartyPrincess · 18/02/2025 22:14

Sealy Posturepedic Pearl. Love it. We had a Hypnos before and that was also good.

LivingLaVidaBabyShower · 18/02/2025 22:16

I went down to dreams and was quite impressed with the range
we tried several.

ours is some brand I’ve never heard of but has a royal seal or similar fanciness. It is insanely plushy. I was quite expensive buttt we got it on sale

We've had one for 15 years, obviously not the same one it’s been replaced several times BUT they've always been on a slatted base and never ever had mould or any dampness whatsoever! Must have been on a solid base and never been turned or been a damp house.

I have an Emma but I dislike it. After two years it felt like I was sleeping in a trough.

Eve or Premier Inn 👌

geminiflanagan · 18/02/2025 22:17

Harrison spinks Lynmouth, the one with the additional topper that attaches. It is just dreamy, I am saving to get one

We've had a Simba and an Emma before, and both crap in comparison, needed replacing within a couple of years. Also hot sweaty memory foam.

My daughters is a close second, also incredibly comfortable

Dunlopilla plus the pillows, they stay as good as the day you bought them.
Love my bed💤

PassMeTheCookies · 18/02/2025 22:18

We have a Premier Inn Hypnos mattress. It's the best one I've ever had.

SeenYourArse · 18/02/2025 22:19

A cheaper option is Dormeo, the full memory foam soft ones we have one in the spare room because it feels almost as good as ours and was less than half the price!

Loloj · 18/02/2025 22:20

I disagree with Premier Inn - the ones you can buy are definitely not the same quality as what you get in the hotels. Ours sagged very quickly and we were so disappointed - they are definitely not up to the same standard as hotel versions. That was when they were made by Hypnos - I think they have changed now so can’t vouch for what the newer ones are like. Having said that we have since bought a different Hypnos mattress and it’s much better (but more expensive than “Premier Inn”). Tried Emma but had to send back as it was too soft (possibly just the version we bought). We have really struggled with finding a comfortable mattress that doesn’t give us backache.

FKAT · 18/02/2025 22:20

Another vote for Hypnos

m00ngirl · 18/02/2025 22:21

Harrison Spinks, which are also natural materials. Lots of places to buy them (Dreams, etc) but got mine from Button and Sprung. Total game changer for my bad back.

CatherinedeBourgh · 18/02/2025 22:23

My natural latex one, but it's on the firmer side so probably won't work for you.

HellNoWay · 18/02/2025 22:25

I actually really love premier inn beds! I love the mattress and the duvet and sheets and pillows and everything! They do sell it all on the premier inn shop, but it's vvvv expensive!

I have that Harrison Spinks mattress. It's lovely!

Okbyethen · 18/02/2025 22:27

Vispring - an investment but worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!

Ours is about 11 years old and still lovely and comfortable😀 When this one wears out we'll 100% purchase another Vispring - I won't even consider another brand to be honest!

DalzielOrNoDalzielAndDontPascoe · 18/02/2025 22:29

Seely Village - we found it so comfy when we stayed at a Village Hotel, it's definitely going to be our next one. Not overly pricy for a quality one, either.
