The KKK is feeling pretty empowered

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 22/01/2025 17:23

This is what happens when a man like Donald Trump gets in power.

These are the people who feel empowered.

While MN celebrates the " only two genders ", people of colour in Kentucky are scared.

I've seen threads on here wishing the UK had Trump. Is this really what you want?

Is this really the type of people you want in power?

Those that voted for Trump over trans issues, what about shit like this? Or women dying from lack of abortion access? Or climate change? Or the casual revisiting of gay marriage rights?

According to GLAAD all resources referencing LGBTQ and HIV have been removed from the White House website. Gay, lesbian, no results come up in the search.

" Pages removed include WhiteHouse.gov’s equity report (no longer accessible), a fact sheet with information on expanding access to HIV prevention and treatment (no longer accessible), and information about LGBTQ Pride Month (no longer accessible). Agency page removals include Department of State’s LGBTQ rights (no longer accessible), and Department of Labor’s LGBTQ workers page (no longer accessible). "

This is scary shit. I don't get how any one envies?

I believe there are only two sexes. I also think Trump is a hateful piece of shit who should be in jail. I don't celebrate this. I think it will further push the left towards the side of genderwooists, because a basic understanding of biology is now seen as right-wing.

Anyone who celebrates this isn't a feminist, they just know men have penises.

ARealitycheck · 22/01/2025 17:52

Totally ignoring and gaslighting the general public for making reasonable requests gives rise to left or right wing groups.

We only have to look at the perfectly reasonable point made often on here about transexuals. Most normal thinking Brits do not think they should be able to decide what they identify as and access women only spaces.

Vast amounts of Brits were happy with the EU as a trading block, but didn't want open doors for migrant workers. We ended up with Brexit.

Politicians need to get out their London or Washington centric worlds and listen to the entire population.

TheGirlattheBack · 22/01/2025 17:55

America has lots of very complex social issues that are not comparable to the UK. Trump standing up for women’s sex based rights is a good thing for their country though.

So true. Refusal to accept centralist ideas as sensible pushes people to extremes.

It’s so scary because when perfectly reasonable people like DH start considering voting reform, you have to wonder what proportion of reform voters are perfectly reasonable and how many are racist bigots.

Yeah, the pussy grabber is standing up for women.

I wonder who he's protecting women from.

It doesn't matter what he thinks personally. His actions are all that people care about. If his actions have a positive impact on women, is that a bad thing?

midgetastic · 22/01/2025 18:03

Will his actions have a positive action?

He believes in gender - he believes that your sex determines things about you. That is the opposite of what women should have been objecting about with the transgender discussions.

He believes the female sex shouldn't be in business, government , anywhere but the kitchen or the bedroom. Abortion rights anyone ?

It is absolutely disgusting that the KKK is rising - and this remind me of the poem/ saying about when you ignore when they came for someone else, and then it's your turn and there is no one to help you

ILiedToJimmyNail · 22/01/2025 18:04

By and large OP, people want common sense, and end to the woke nonsense, and a few more quid in their pocket. This is exactly why Trump has been re-elected. A total failure by the left to address these things is why we will see an increasing shift to the centre/right all over the western world.

(And a previous poster is quite right - At a high level you can see what's going on across the world, but on an individual level having lived in the US and UK the overall culture and politics are very, very different to here).

A Timeline of Donald Trump’s Creepiness

  • *allegations that Trump entered the Miss Teen USA changing room where girls as young as 15 were in various states of undress.

Mariah Billado, Miss Teen Vermont 1997 told BuzzFeed, “I remember putting on my dress really quick because I was like, ‘Oh my god, there’s a man in here.'” Three other teenage contestants from the same year confirmed the story. The former pageant contestants discussed their memories of the incident after former Miss Arizona Tasha Dixon told Los Angeles’ CBS affiliate that Trump entered the Miss USA dressing room in 2001 when she was a contestant.

“He just came strolling right in,” Dixon said. “There was no second to put a robe on or any sort of clothing or anything. Some girls were topless. Others girls were naked. Our first introduction to him was when we were at the dress rehearsal and half-naked changing into our bikinis.”

Dixon went on to say that employees of the Miss Universe Organization encouraged the contestants to lavish Trump with attention when he came in. “To have the owner come waltzing in, when we’re naked, or half-naked, in a very physically vulnerable position and then to have the pressure of the people that worked for him telling us to go fawn all over him, go walk up to him, talk to him, get his attention…”
The Trump campaign did not offer a response to either story, but in a 2005 appearance on Howard Stern’s show, Trump bragged about doing exactly what the women describe. “I’ll go backstage before a show, and everyone’s getting dressed and ready and everything else,” he said.

His position as the pageant’s owner entitled him to that kind of access, Trump explained, seemingly aware that what he was doing made the women uncomfortable. “You know, no men are anywhere. And I’m allowed to go in because I’m the owner of the pageant. And therefore I’m inspecting it… Is everyone OK? You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. And you see these incredible-looking women. And so I sort of get away with things like that,” he said.

(Billado told BuzzFeed she mentioned the incident to Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, who shrugged it off, saying, “Yeah, he does that.”)

Former Beauty Queen: Contestants Were Forced To Greet Trump Even When Not Fully Dressed

"He just came strolling right in. There was no second to put a robe on...Some girls were topless. Other girls were naked," Tasha Dixon says.

The fact you don't grasp how vital that phrase is but chose to post about a era defining fight for women's rights as though it is something solely related to Trumo rather than something he has appropriated purely to make political capital is what is gross.

Of course Trump won't use the correct terminology. He's a misogynistic rapist. Hardly a shining beacon for feminisn now is he?

Don't come on a woman centric forum and tell women who have spent time and money protecting women's rights that they are gross for correcting you on your incorrect terminology. Or just because Trump does it, does that mean it's good enough for you?

This is a man who freely talks about being an abusive piece of shit.

LostTheMarble · 22/01/2025 18:10

I know you think you’re making a moral point op. What you’ve actually done is shown the exact issue with trans rights activist - making everything about them. Trump is absolutely a garbage piece of humanity, but that doesn’t stop the fact there’s only two sexes being true, nor the fact that gender ideology as a whole is dangerous for the young, vulnerable people it targets. Recognising this doesn’t cause racism, it’s not the reason why Trump was voted in and will shit on women’s autonomy - conservatives have been doing that since the existence of politics. But please carry on making it all the issues of the world about trans rights.

BottomWibblyWob · 22/01/2025 18:11

People all over the world are scared. Try being a Jewish person pretty much anywhere on the planet right now.

But America voted for this. They wanted this. He won by an impressive margin.

And TBH I live in the U.K. we are steeped in our own problems. I don’t have capacity to worry about the people of Kentucky. I’m worried about the people in West Yorkshire experiencing Islamophobia and anti-semitism. I’m worried about grooming gangs and county lines gangs preying on our young people. I’m worried about the elderly people who can’t heat their homes. I’m worried about children in poverty, some areas of which rates are at 50%.

Now I didn’t vote Tory but I accept that as a citizen of the UK we had 14 years of their rule and we didn’t do a great deal about it until last summer. Not that Labour are perfect, but you will never get the perfect party.

America had the opportunity to sort their house out and they voted Trump in. They voted a sex offender in. Thats their bar. I’m not sure what else there is to say.

LuckyPeonies · 22/01/2025 18:27

But America voted for this. They wanted this. He won by an impressive margin.

He did NOT win by an ‘impressive margin’ ! Out of 245 million eligible voters, only 77 million voted for him. He only won by 1.6% more than Harris, which is a very slim margin. 90 million eligible voters stayed home rather than vote for him or Harris. He did not even receive 50% of the vote.

In terms of elections and politics that IS an impressive margin. It’s very standard and it’s extraordinarily rare for any party to get 50% of voters in a national election. He won by 86 seats, considered by many to be a landslide doing better than he did the first time around

I didn’t really understand why facts upset people. Sometimes people vote for people you don’t like but pretending it isn’t an impressive victory doesn’t make it any less of a win.

Totally agree. It’s so scary. I am so scared for my friends with brown skin. I hate the division in this country and USA.

BottomWibblyWob · 22/01/2025 18:36

So around 31% of the voting population.

Given Labour got around 33% last year that’s an impressive win

America has lots of very complex social issues that are not comparable to the UK. Trump standing up for women’s sex based rights is a good thing for their country though.

South Carolina have introduced a bill which, if it passes, will allow the death penalty as punishment for women who procure an abortion.

Which bit of that is good for American women?
