The KKK is feeling pretty empowered

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 22/01/2025 17:23

This is what happens when a man like Donald Trump gets in power.

These are the people who feel empowered.

While MN celebrates the " only two genders ", people of colour in Kentucky are scared.

I've seen threads on here wishing the UK had Trump. Is this really what you want?

Is this really the type of people you want in power?

Those that voted for Trump over trans issues, what about shit like this? Or women dying from lack of abortion access? Or climate change? Or the casual revisiting of gay marriage rights?

According to GLAAD all resources referencing LGBTQ and HIV have been removed from the White House website. Gay, lesbian, no results come up in the search.

" Pages removed include WhiteHouse.gov’s equity report (no longer accessible), a fact sheet with information on expanding access to HIV prevention and treatment (no longer accessible), and information about LGBTQ Pride Month (no longer accessible). Agency page removals include Department of State’s LGBTQ rights (no longer accessible), and Department of Labor’s LGBTQ workers page (no longer accessible). "

This is scary shit. I don't get how any one envies?

KKK distributes flyers in Kentucky telling immigrants to ‘leave now’

Documents, including phone number and invitation to ‘join us’, distributed same day Trump took office

Well not being American I didn't vote - but no I don't think voting for trump makes a person racist either

People tend to vote for those they align themselves with. Trump has a large far right following and they tend to be racists. He's been accused by those close to him as being fascist. He's expressed open admiration for autocrats and doesn't respect human rights.

Princessconsuelabananahammock9 · 22/01/2025 22:42

And all pride and BLM flags have been removed from government buildings now.

Apparently homophobia and racism are no longer issues in the USA.

There are only 2 choices in the US - so no I don't think the fact that there are far right people that vote for the only right party means that the whole party is far right. Nor are all the people voting for the only right wing choice fundamental Christians. And right wing is not far right, just like left wing is not far left - personally I am left leaning centrist but the purity spirals on the left are ridiculous

Statements like that are the reason people become more extreme in their opinions. The voters for the most part won't be far right. They have different desires from you, which put them right of centre. Just the same as the majority of his opposition, they will be slightly left of centre.

It is only ever the fringes on either side that are the noisy minority making false statements.

If you vote a fascist into power, you've voted a fascist into power.

Where in my post you've quoted did I say the whole of the right wing is far right? I specifically spoke about Trump. I didn't say every single person voting right was a fundamentalist Christian.

It would be appreciated if you could engage with what I wrote.

This is such a shallow viewpoint. People vote as they do for many reasons: sometimes a single issue they feels strongly about, sometimes they choose what seems the least worst option if none really fit the bill for them, sometimes people vote tribally or as a protest, a whole host of other factors. It's rare for a politician to be a perfect fit to a voter's views and priorities, how can they be? They literally have to try to appeal to millions of different people. It's all compromise.

'Aligning themselves', 'fascist', 'far right', all just just hyperbole.

Genuinely stunned.
A man wearing a dress is not a trans woman, that’s a cross dresser or a transvestite.
I suggest you do research into transgender and gender reassignment. I hope this issue doesn’t affect any of your family.
How many sex crimes are committed by trans women? The research is sparse, one of the reasons for this is because they don’t tend to be sexual predators.
Do you suggest that lesbians start using their own facilities because they may be sexual predators as well?

For anyone who wants to read through the statistics for males who have transgender identities who commit sex crimes in the UK here are some. I hope this helps.

I recommend that you consider the numbers in comparison to the census data for male people with the gender identity of ‘woman’. It works out rather a significant proportion compared to the general male population.

This was a question answered last month:
https://questions-statements.parliament.uk/written-questions/detail/2024-12-16/20298.

Question from Rebecca Paul (MP Reigate): To ask the Secretary of State for Justice, with reference to the HMPPS Offender Equalities Annual Report 2023-2024, published on 28 November 2024, how many of the 50 transgender prisoners who reported their legal gender as female were convicted of a sexual offence.
Answer from Sir Richard Dakin (MP Scunthorpe): 23 December 2024

Of the 245 transgender prisoners who reported their legal gender as male (i.e. those who now identify as women, non-binary or gender-fluid) on 31 March 2024, 151 were convicted of a sexual offence. This includes both contact and non-contact sexual offences. Offence data was not available for 1 individual.
Of the 50 transgender prisoners who reported their legal gender as female on 31 March 2024, the number convicted of a sexual offence is five or fewer. We do not provide exact data for such small sample sizes as it risks identification of individuals. This approach is in line with our standards on data disclosure.

To put this into perspective with what we already knew from FOI information:

Here is data from the MoJ
Here is an FOI request from 30 April 2024

https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/populationoftransgenderoffend/response/2641337/attach/html/7/FOI%20240322022%20Annex%20A.xlsx.html

Up to the 31st March 2023, the MoJ stated that of the 88 male transgender prisoners with one or more sexual offences.

The breakdown was
48 rapes,
0 attempted rapes,
10 Sexual assault or attempted sexual assault,
13 causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity,
0 indecent assault or gross indecency
6 sexual activity with a child under 16
0 other

77 listed here.... BUT there is a total of 88 in the total so there is 11 crimes not noted.

Possessing or making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of child has not been recorded in this FOI.

However, there is are further discrepancies in the data of the following when you look at TOTAL NUMBER OF TRANSGENDER PRISONERS SENTENCED FOR A PRINCIPAL SEXUAL OFFENCE.

1 causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity
3 rapes
2 sexual activity with a child under 16
3 Sexual assault or attempted sexual assault,

This equals 9 additional... however the sum for TOTAL NUMBER OF TRANSGENDER PRISONERS SENTENCED FOR A PRINCIPAL SEXUAL OFFENCE is 99.

Therefore 2 more sex crimes have been hidden from this data.

There were 203 males who were declared as transgender in the prison at the time.

There were 24 NB who were not segregated into male and female. What is key here, is that THIS IS NON-GRC HOLDERS. And we all know that males holding GRCs have increased and they are excluded from this data. NO female people with transgender identities were sentenced to a principal sexual offence. There were 41 female people with transgender identities in UK prisons at that time.
As a comparison, I have stats that say as of April 2019 that the general male MoJ data for male sex offenders was just 16.8% of the male prison population. And there were 3.3% of female people in UK prisons were sex offenders.
I will leave you to do your own sums. But... even using the figure of 88/203 is 43.3%. (And that doesn't include making or possessing indecent photographs of a child remember.)

By the way this exercise was done in 2021. And I checked this data myself from the data source and it was correct at the time. So, it will give some back ground to the above.

The ones that say that in the March/April 2021 data collection period, the MoJ stated that of the 97 transgender prisoners with one or more sexual offences.

The breakdown was
40 rapes,
8 attempted rapes,
31 possessing or making indecent photographs or pseudo photographs of child,
32 Sexual assault or attempted sexual assault,
20 causing or inciting a child under 16 to engage in sexual activity,
10 indecent assault or gross indecency
9 sexual activity with a child under 16
27 other

The 97 sex offender transgender prisons collected 177 sentences between them.

And that according to that FOI 197 prisoners are transgender.

What can reasonably be said is that there is simply no evidence that a male person at any stage of transition has a lower risk of committing sex crime than the general male population of the UK. It would be completely false and it would be harmful to also declare that any male person at any stage of transition had an evidenced rate of committing sex crime at the rate of female people in the UK.

"Blue Collar" is called skilled trades now and immigrants don't pose a threat as the "working class" is not doing the same jobs.

Do you have any data on this? It's something I'd be interested in reading. I encounter loads of Eastern Europeans working in construction which is typically a blue collar wc industry. I was at a big HS2 briefing today and there were loads of Romanians and Polish guys there.

It's what they symbolize.

Gay marriage wasn't even legal until 2015!

And black men as still shot for being black.

Do you know how scary it is to be black in the states when a cop pulls you over?

Those flags represented a commitment to equality in a country where it's been a continuous hard fight for equal rights.

I cannot speak for America on this point. But certainly UK, the majority by a country mile working in hands on agriculture like crop picking were Eastern European. A British/Australian/NZ student stood no chance of seasonal fruit picking. It was tied up by EE gangmasters supplying labour.
