‘D’ P farting while he’s prepping food

Easipeelerie · 26/12/2024 20:00

He’s in the kitchen chopping meat and just let out 2 enormous farts (and quite deliberately, not like there was nothing he do about it)- doesn’t care and doesn’t think it’s a big deal. He’s in the kitchen prepping food,
Am I being unreasonable to not want to eat with him now. I find when he does this sort of thing that it’s so disrespectful and just unpleasant.

Grim!

FiatMultiplaWhopper · 26/12/2024 20:01

Yeah that is a bit grim

daisychain01 · 26/12/2024 20:02

Presumably he isn't pointing his bum directly at the food?

bugalugs45 · 26/12/2024 20:02

It's not nice but equally won't harm your food in any way

Do you not fart ?

WickedlyCharmed · 26/12/2024 20:04

Ugh, grim.

Onlyvisiting · 26/12/2024 20:04

Were you also in the kitchen? I think intentionally farting around other people is gross, the being in the kitchen part wouldn't bother me.

dragonfliesandbees · 26/12/2024 20:04

You're being ridiculous.

daisychain01 · 26/12/2024 20:05

A lot of pearl clutching tonight isn't there.

DH does all our cooking and lets the occasional one go, but I'm hardly going to divorce him over it. Maybe I should force him out onto the patio in the freezing cold instead no chance Not when there's veggie lasagne at stake

Never in the kitchen prepping food. Whether or not it harms the food, I just find it offensive.

FatFiatMultiplaWhopper · 26/12/2024 20:06

Of course it doesn't "harm the food"

poemsandwine · 26/12/2024 20:06

Ridiculous overreaction. He's not farting on the food, while you're eating, or around you. Chill.

thefairytaleofnewyork · 26/12/2024 20:06

This would give me the ick, regardless of whether he was prepping food!

Disrespectful!

mrstinsle · 26/12/2024 20:06

You find farting offensive? You really need to get a grip.

daisychain01 · 26/12/2024 20:07

Where's the cats bum-face emoji when I need it.

come on OP unclench, it's Christmas and his need was great.

She'd never survive in our house.

MaMoosie · 26/12/2024 20:08

Can’t move in my house with hearing a fart 🤣

It's just a fart
Unless he was farting over the food, like pointing his arse at it, then it's fine

MN is so weird about farting. It's a fairly normal body function

mrstinsle · 26/12/2024 20:09

OP, I'm just wondering how you handle fanny farting during sex, or don't you indulge in such an act?

Easipeelerie · 26/12/2024 20:10

Hi arse was, as you’d expect facing away from the food. But they were fulsome and slightly wet sounding and just rank.

OP posts:
daisychain01 · 26/12/2024 20:10

It's significantly more ewww starting a thread about it than it is letting one out.

They’re funny and usually there’s no food prep involved.

After yesterdays mammoth dinners with stuffing and vegetables I would assume most households are more windy than usual
