I may be being unreasonable given that we've still got Christmas to go. I've just been hit with a wave of inspiration that very likely will die down by this evening

I'm also addicted to mumsnet 🤭

What do you want/need to work on in 2025? For me, i want to learn French and finally finish decorating my house.

I also want to practice being mysterious and less of an open book. I do have a tenancy to spill my lore to strangers irl as well as on mumsnet

If you've got time on your hands this afternoon, please do tell x

Go to bed earlier. Make more time for self-care.

Hellskitchen24 · 18/12/2024 16:10

I’ll be on maternity leave from April so raising a child will be my main goal! Back to work in early 2026.

Congratulations! I had mine in April 🥰 but went on maternity leave after Christmas, as i was having a bloody awful time at work

You'll have a lovely time 🙂 and close to a year off!

Lesina · 18/12/2024 16:53

Drink more water, finish my scuba diving course, ride my horse more and qualify as a ski instructor :-)

BunnyMum2000 · 18/12/2024 16:55

Run a marathon!

LlynTegid · 18/12/2024 16:56

Finally to go to the Eisteddfod.

jinglejanglejo · 18/12/2024 16:57

Get the surgery I need

Start my 2 year retirement countdown so I can wave goodbye to all the cunts I work with

Twinkletwinklelil · 18/12/2024 16:58

Get back into shape. Be a healthier, fitter Mom for my kids.
try to save 😵

frequencytwiglet · 18/12/2024 16:59

Be less chunky and start flying lessons. And continue to keep the children alive.

lemonyellows · 18/12/2024 16:59

Lose weight. Be healthier

Ioveyou · 18/12/2024 17:01

Lose a few stone. Feel healthier and fitter. Learn to love myself. Had my first baby a year ago and lost a lot of confidence.

I'm super excited for the new year

SingingSands · 18/12/2024 17:03

I'm determined to start and stick at a fitness regime. I'm a runner, but need to put some effort into strength training as I'm turning into a bit of a weeble.

Pinkmoonshine · 18/12/2024 17:05

Exercise/ reading / one mire regular activity for me in the local community like a yoga class or something. Other parts of my life are going well but those areas (for me) need tweaking.

Slidingdowntherainbow · 18/12/2024 17:06
  1. maintain all of my important friendships, something I’m finding harder as I get deeper into parenthood.

  2. lose 7 pounds and 1 dress size (for health and confidence)

  3. start or complete a work based course for future career development and increased salary.

Cluelesssanta · 18/12/2024 17:27

Continue to improve my fitness levels - add more strength training.
Lose another stone in weight. Drastically cut down on sugar.
Learn to read music again ( Who knew you forget if you don't do it for 40 years).
Learn a new instrument.
Do lot's to try to improve my teen's mental/social wellbeing and confidence (sneakily).
Continue all the good habits I've started this year, after taking early retirement. They've made the world of difference.
Learn to cook/bake
Learn to decorate.
Transform my garden
Pick up another voluntary role - thinking possibly Samaritans.
I intend to be busy 🤣

Survive
Stay healthy (ish

EveryDayisFriday · 18/12/2024 17:35

Double our savings
Continue on health eating and lots of sleep
Most of all, I want to find a hobby. My kids are growing up and I have time and money again but no idea of what I what to do with it. I want something interesting to occupy my spare time that isn't in front of the TV or at the gym.

Tagyoureit · 18/12/2024 17:35

Get back in to exercising, I miss it if I'm honest, I used to exercise 5 to 6 times a week and then stopped. Now I've lost 3 stones, I need to tone up and get stronger again.

Find my motivation to do the above and to just generally be more productive with my time rather than bumming about on here and Facebook!

Earn money again. I've been out of work since maternity leave/losing my job to covid. So either by finding a job or being savvy with vinted or something.

Stop watching tv in bed, very bad habit I've slipped back in to so I need to get some good books to read instead.

Purplebunnie · 18/12/2024 17:39

I want to lose some weight. Go to bed at a sensible time, less time on the computer, more time on my hobby.

Wigtopia · 18/12/2024 17:41
  1. get back into strength training
  2. drink more water
  3. spend min one hour per day doing something just for me and doing it on my own (e.g. going to a coffee shop on my own and enjoying a coffee rather than having it on the go/ reading in peace without interruption a/ an evening class/ long bath etc).
MammaTo · 18/12/2024 17:47

Try to save some money and reduce debts. Also get on the move more, not from a looks perspective but just to be a healthier mum for my little, but very active toddler.

nindo · 18/12/2024 17:51

I’m weighing up whether to retire but I’m only 56. I’m quite lazy so don’t think it would bother me much not working but just a big decision. Financially I can afford it. I wouldn’t pay any tax either or NI so my contribution to the country would be done until I get state pension. Not sure how I feel about that.
