Self development, in every way.
I share a toddler with my ex of over 10 years, who went from an absolutely lovely guy (or so I naively thought) to a sex/OLD obsessed, cruel, lying cheat who left me drowning in PND with a newborn. He then got with and impregnated a woman when our little one was only 11 months old. It completely destroyed me. I only now feel ready to resume normal life as I've spent the past almost 2 years in what has felt like survival mode.
I swore to myself that I would, one day, get back to the best version of myself and fuck him kind of thing, and now I feel that that time has come for me!
So, my goals going forward are -
Health and fitness. I've recently started working with a PT and am doing 2 x strength training per week plus 10k steps on most days when DC is at nursery. I plan to keep this up and begin to work on my nutrition.
Appearance. I really let myself go during pregnancy, in part due to his nonsense and feeling completely lost and unsupported. I ended up gaining around 2 stone, with hyperpigmentation all over my face. The greys are coming in thick and fast which I attribute to all the stress I've been under for the past couple of years. So I've ordered a few skincare items (tret, along with some k beauty serums/essences) and the current body LED mask. I've also booked myself in to the hairdressers for a good cut as I've not had one in god knows how long and my hair is quite ratty with split ends, as well as a colour. I'm going to keep this up every 3/4 months.
Mental health. I've been on antidepressants since my little one was born and have recently connected with a therapist who is great, however I think I have quite a lot of work to do, not only in regards to the stress I've been under the last couple of years, but childhood trauma. So I'm aiming to do 1/2 sessions a month, finances permitting. I also have a list of self help podcasts/audio books lined up on Spotify
Career. I'm starting a single masters module in Jan which will hopefully help with my career development and I can hopefully go on to complete the full masters at my own pace. I'm looking to go up the bandings (NHS), in quite a niche area, so this will hopefully assist.
So yes, quite a long list, however I'm feeling ready and motivated to fully engage in moving onwards and upwards.
