I may be being unreasonable given that we've still got Christmas to go. I've just been hit with a wave of inspiration that very likely will die down by this evening

I'm also addicted to mumsnet 🤭

What do you want/need to work on in 2025? For me, i want to learn French and finally finish decorating my house.

I also want to practice being mysterious and less of an open book. I do have a tenancy to spill my lore to strangers irl as well as on mumsnet

If you've got time on your hands this afternoon, please do tell x

Get promoted.

Make new friends in the place we've relocated to.

Lose 15kg. I’ve lost 5kg in the past few weeks, so feeling motivated.

Also I’d like to get engaged/married this year. No big fuss, just would like to have the legalities sorted out really.

Congratulations on the loss 🙂

I've got some to lose as well but I'm looking into mounjaro

And fingers crossed for a nice and peaceful wedding for you x

To try to use the fact that I will have a slight reduction in responsibilities at work from January to try to manage my (currently impossible) workload better and take some time to improve my health and fitness.

Finish my chemo treatment and hope it's worked it's magic !
Once treatment is finished I want to improve my nutrition and start pilates
Build strength, improve muscle tone and be healthy and fitter again
Plan and go and lots of city breaks and enjoy exploring new places
Sort out my garden and make it lovely
Declutter the house from top to bottom, redecorate and make it a home where every room can be enjoyed (rather than a dumping ground of stuff I don't really need!)

Ifyouinsistthen · 19/12/2024 20:03

I love reading these and best of luck everyone! Mine are:

  • complete on new house and redecorate it
  • lose 15kg and get back to regular workouts and better nutrition
  • get a new job (I hate my current one so much for so many reasons)
  • find an investor for my startup
  • start a martial art
  • sell my flat
  • buy a car
Hollowvoice · 19/12/2024 20:31

I need to be healthier. The last 18 months have been really hard and I've fallen into very bad habits.
So more exercise, better food, less alcohol.

I’m going to master how to make my own puff pastry.

Go abroad on holiday for the first time in 25 years.

make all my own cakes and biscuits and not buy anymore.

Design and knit pairs of socks which will fit my tiny feet perfectly.

Grumpyoldthing · 19/12/2024 20:45

Ohhh I’ll come back to read this tomorrow

FluffyDiplodocus · 19/12/2024 20:51

I need to lose weight. We’ve had a few tough patches with my ASD DS this year and I absolutely have been eating my feelings at times! Getting through Christmas and then I’m clearing out the spare room and buying a treadmill.

  • Finally finish learning Debussy - 1 Arabesque on the piano. It has taken me all of 2024 to get the first four pages right - I am a slow learner!
  • Get stronger. Not sure how. I think I need a more detailed plan.
Shopgirl1 · 19/12/2024 22:29

Run two marathons and learn Italian

Grumpyoldthing · 20/12/2024 04:25
  • Try murjarno (weight loss jabs ) I had lost a stone since August, but busted my ankle two weeks ago and I’m dreading weighing myself
  • read 50 books - and write about them in a book journal
  • get rid of an annoying 450£ overdraft that seems to be hanging around like a bad smell
Grumpyoldthing · 20/12/2024 04:27

Also , I will try to remember to post on this thread in June , and remind everyone that they are accountable 🤣

LunaNorth · 20/12/2024 04:34

To distance myself as much as possible from my toxic family members, and start the process of healing from the fifty years of emotional abuse I’ve suffered from them.

Frenchyq25 · 20/12/2024 04:51

Get back into running...I'm booked in to do a 10k in March (haven't trained in months).

Get my husband out of the house. I thought I was being nice letting him stay for a bit after I told him our marriage is over but now I just want him gone!

To have a holiday on my own

ThatAgileCoralBird · 20/12/2024 06:32

@Buttalapasta I’m so impressed!
Debussy arabesque is a beautiful piece of music.

NeedToChangeName · 20/12/2024 07:52

Eat more fish

Run a 10K

SquashedSquashess · 20/12/2024 08:08

I want to be more assertive. I’ve realised recently that being a people pleaser and always wanting to be nice or smooth things over has led to people treating me like a bit of a doormat, in both my personal and professional life.

I won’t have it any more. I started yesterday. Pushed back against three people on separate occasions. And guess what, it resulted in them backing off or not answering back. Time to stop taking other people’s shit.

DilemmaDelilah · 20/12/2024 08:08

@Baileysandcream very best wishes for you on your goals. It's a hard slog!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 20/12/2024 08:10

Stop letting dickhead people bother me, get to my goal weight. Lost 3 stone but been dithering over the last few pounds all year. Complete my accountancy course. Buy a house.

worriedgal · 20/12/2024 08:16

Mine are to -

Not stress the small stuff or things I can't control.

Enjoy more time with dh as we are empty nesters - weekends away and spontaneous activities.

Get back into an exercise routine and keep it up .

Obviously loose weight (1stone ish )
