Husband picks his nose and eats it

My husband works away and a few months ago on FaceTime, he was ‘discreetly’ picking his nose and it looked like he was eating it. I called him out and he kinda just laughed. Honestly, I was horrified. Then on other calls, he tried to hide his lower face but he didn’t put the camera low enough down and he whipped the bogey from nose to mouth so I know he is doing it. I feel like, why would you choose to do that right now? On our call? He’s done it a few times now and I just call him out every time. He doesn’t really say much when I call him out- just gets a bit embarrassed. We’ve been together over 20 years but I see him differently now. Maybe it’s small to some people but this has completely disgusted me. The thought of kissing him repulses me. I wouldn’t say I’m head over heels in love with him or anything but I quite like his company for the most part and we have a pretty good sex life but this has changed things. I’m so grossed out. Am I being unreasonable? Is it over?

I often pick my nose but I can 100% say I've never eaten it...that is gross

No we haven't. Don't tell yourself that some gross habit is normal and everyone does it Hmm

My ex used to do it, he looked like he really enjoyed doing it. I don't even think he was aware of people watching him. It's always a stare into space thing.

Picking your nose is normal and everyone does it. Eating it is not.

If you think it's so normal, try doing it in mixed company.

But people not admitting to eating their boogies and being appalled by it is not an admission of proof they are doing it. I think most people saying they pick their nose but eating it is another level.

I just tried googling why some people pick their nose and eat it and couldn't make it past the first few sentences without feeling queasy. Genuinely baffled by this. Does it not taste gross?!

I feel sick just reading this. I would also not want to kiss him ever again, and feel disgusted with him. I would feel like I was on a bush tucker trial, if I was instructed to eat my bogey 🤢 how are people casually devouring them. Ergh

It’s a weird thing to do. I liken it to eating earwax or something, people don’t do that though. Although, technically, snot does travel from you nose to your throat constantly so in that sense we are all eating it all the time.

So what advice can people give? I’ve been married over 20 years and I feel like I’ve been living a lie. My son (he’s 16) who also saw the boogie eating one day told me he’s always know his dad picks his nose and eats it. He said casually ‘he’s done that since I can remember’… honestly, this may be dramatic but I’m seriously considering how the marriage can continue as I’m repulsed. This makes me cry but I’m not sure I can get past this.

I can cope with our bodies betraying us with things but a purposeful pick and insert? I’m struggling.
