kwpt waffling about something after work and I said “how many times have we heard this now” she then turned around and nudged my dad and said “ooh look at her. She’s rude. She’s not my daughter. My daughter is supposed to have manners” at which point I got in the car and ignored her and drove back to mine. She thinks I’m being unreasonable and a brat. I however. Think what she said was rude and stupid.

She was talking about someone at work who keeps taking time off sick. That’s it. Then she said that and I lost my rag. Apparently it was a “joke” I wasn’t laughing therefore it wasn’t funny.

There must be some context - as what you said first appears to be very rude. My DF often tells me stories I’ve heard before - I just listen - again,

I was saying it in a sarcastic jokey way. Not in a I’m sick of you way. Her comment was too far.

You were rude op. Yes it's tedious when people repeat themselves but your reaction to it was rude. I'd say your behaviour was worse than your mum's as you described it here.

Your mum was talking about something....you are rude describing it as 'waffling' ..to her it was telling you something... is she not supposed to speak? She was in her own home ffs!
